• Chapter 1: Drako's Dream

I looked at my pokeball and sighed as I saw my pokemon, my partner, and my best friend, Drako, a Charizard, slept in his ball. I was torn between a choice of my life. Let him live in the Charisific Valley, or stay with me. There were Chrizards there that were way bigger than he was, and more than likely, more stonger. This choice was one of the hardest I ever had to make. Give up my most powerful pokemon so he could be the best Charizard out of all of them in the world. God. I needed to pick. I had other pokemon on me, and he would be in training, I brought him with me to Jhoto alone, but my team was filling up fast.

I climbed down the cliff and went to the pokemon center and let him out. Drako was not like most of the Charizards that you would see. He was a beautiful shadow black with the insides of his wings being a deep red. I pulled out a badge that we won and a Focus Band. The choice was Drako's now. Not mine and he just looked at them, than, back at me.

"What ever you pick, I'll be behind you," I said. I layed down in the bed and he spent all night looking at the items, than sometimes, at me.

"She's had me as a Charmander, and now, she's making me pick on who I want to be." He thought to himself. Drako made up his mind as he went out the window and flew off.

"I'm going to become stronger without going to the vally, I'm going to become the best without those other Chrizard around me." Drako said to himself as he landed in a rocky area and let out a blast of flames as his traning was begining on himself with working on Over Heat attack be aiming at the rocks above, and within an hour, he was almost on his last massive leg, but determined.

"I am not going to that vally and leaveing Ami. There is no way on earth that I will do such a thing!!!" Drako roared out into the night.
I want to tell her on how much she means to me, and that I wish that she was not just my trainer, but the girl I really love.

As Drako continued on to train himself so he would not go to the valley. He tossed a bolder and it shaddered on the cliff and a chrystal fell out. Drako sniffed it, and went back to training himself. As the training continued on, the chrystal lit up and it was enough to make Drako still forget about it.

"You have a wish, I can give it to you." Drako paniced as he turned around to see it glowing and a star shaped pokemon pokemon came out. It had a pale colored body and the star was ontop of it's head with a thir eye on the belly and tassels on each point, small yellow ribbons coming out of it's back.

    "Who are you?" Drako asked.

"People call me Jarachi. I am the legendary Wish Pokemon. I can grant your wish." Drako looked on. Jarachi tilted it's head to the lizard.

"What is your wish, my friend?" Jarachi asked. Drako couldn't say. Him loving me, his trainer was fobidden and he also knew that if it was going to be the way it was going to be with him picking the choice to stay with me or train with his own kind, I would be upset and my turn back for him.

"Well, there's this girl that I like, but...." Drako said. Jarachi tilted it's head and floated around it.

    "What is it?" He asked
"The girl is my trainer, and my best friend, Ami."

"Absolutly not!" Jarachi cried as he rose himself up to Drako. Drako lowered his head and sighed.

"Alright, I have a challenge for you, you make me human, and I will tell Ami that I love here, but if she fails to love me back, I will train in the Charisific Vally, but, if she does love me, you will join the pokemon team that we have grown every day after she got me as a small Charmander." Darko pointed. Jarachi had no choice but to take his offer and with that, Jarachi lit up it's small points and Drako felt a transformation.

    Chapter 2: Drako's Wish

As Drako woke up, he saw that he had black hair and red eyes. His clothes were dark, he had his normal body with out the wings and the horns. And with the experiance that he had, Drako had to get a pokemon. He didn't care what, as long as he had a pokemon he saw a small blue elephant and smiled.

"Alright! Phanpy!" He yelled as he found a pokeball laying on the ground and threw it. It bobbed once, twice, three times, click! He did it! He caught Phanpy! He looked at the pokeball and saw on how dirty it was.

"Must have been dropped by someone that was on this pass." Drako said as he headed back to the Pokemon Center and sat down to make it look as if his Phanpy was hurt and saw me. He smiled as he went up to me. He kept in sight of my soft redish brown hair and imagened my light green eyes.

"Hello." Drako addressed me to have he turn around to see that I was crying.

"Is everything alright?" He asked but I nodded no.

"Can you tell me what's wrong?" Drako shyly responded to the nod. I sat down.

"My partner Drako, a Charizard picked to train without me. I have had him as a Charmander and I miss my close friend." Drako couldn't believe what his ears were hearing.
No Ami, you're wrong. I'm right here. Drako kept thinking that over and over, but there was no way she would belive him on that.

"How long did you have Drako?" He asked

"As an egg. I was walking when I saw an egg on the path and smiled as I moved it out of the way so no one would crush it, and a couple of Rattata knocked it down the hill and I ran after the egg and had to catch it before it hit the river. I was able to do so, but in the process, it began to hatch, and when I caught it, in my hands were a small yellow Chramnder. I took it home and raised it. A bond grew. It became my pertner and now, I can't belive that he's gone." I said to the stranger.

"What pokemon is in your pokeball?" I ask him as he held it out.

"Just my Phanpy, Trunks." He said and opened it up and the small pokemon landed on all fours, flapped it's ears and rose it's trunk.

"I have a Phanpy." I told him and he looked at me. "I named it Tusk." I smiled at him and headed out with five pokemon, hoping to find Drako and he fallowed me.

"Where are you going?" He asked me and I turned.

"To find my Charizard." I replied and he kept up with me quite well.

"My name is Drake." He said with a smile.

"Ami." I replied to him. I was glad that he finaly ytold me his name and noticed that I was on my way to the Charisific Valley.

"Lisa!!" I called out to have her open the gate and sure enough, she always did Lisa had her Charizard, Charla, next to her at all times. Unlike Drako, all the Charizard were orange, but some were bigger than the others, some had scars, torn wings. Charla was a Charizard that was perfect. No damage to battles or anything. She was easy to pick out with the pink bow on her head.

"Hey, Ami, what are you doing here? Where's Drako?" She asked as I looked into her deep blue eyes and sighed.

"I was hoping that you saw him." I replied as I looked down

"I haven't" Lisa replied and I turned away. I could not belive that my very first pokemon was gone and I was upset about it.

"I'll tell you what, I will give you one of the Charizards that a triner has left here just to abandon him and to get better, stonger pokemon." Lisa replied to me as an ornage Charizard walked up to me, but man, he was huge. He was the biggest out of any Charizard there in the vally, but, he was not Drako. None of them could be Drako.

"No thanks." I sighed as I turned back and Drake fallowed me as I went to the pokemon Center to get another pokemon from Professor Oak. I had lots of them and they were happy there, so after thinking about it for some time, I knew what one I wanted. I grabbed the pokeball and opened it up to see a blue mouse appear.

"A Marill. Nice." Drake said to me as I pulled my pack over my shoulders. I walked out of the center and headed back into the mountians and Drake was right behind me.

"Where are you going?" He called out as I kept walking forward and tried to keep my anger inside of me as I headed up the mountain

"To find my Charizard!!" I called out in response only to have Spearow fly out from the grasses in front of me.

    Chapter 3: A Lost Friend

I had my Marill on my shoulder as she litstened for any foot stpes of Drako, and any sings of him. My Togetic dantily flew over my head as I kept my eyes open for any pokemon attacks. With it being all rock, I had my Vileplume's pokeball ready as well as Marill. Both pokemon were realy good for this type of area. I steped over to a cliff and looked down to see rocks tossed this way and that, shards of boulders, and I jumpped down to see the damage and Drake was finaly able to catch up to me and landed in a way that I have done as a young hyper imature trainer.

"Stupid legs!" He yelled as I turned. I saw him in the bushes and watched as he stuggled to get out of them and grabbed his hand to help him.

"What happened here?" I asked looking at everything and kept walking and sighed as I looked down. There were holes at every turn and as I got looking, I found a tell tale sing of something that Togetic was looking at. It was deep and huge. Almost a half cercle with three large toes, a chill ran down my spine. It was the foot print of a Charizard, we were miles from the vally and the only pokemon around were the Geodude, the Donphan, and Dunsparce. The dirt had a small chance to settle in, it was still freash, only about four to six hours old.

"Drako was here." I whispered and looked around for him. I was on the right track, I knew I was.

I soon stummbled onto what looked like shards of a purple jewel. I was now worried on where the heck Drako was. That foot print was a big clue, but that was just it. There was nothing more. I had hit a dead end and knew that I had to keep on my quest, but it was going to be diffrent without Drako. I met up with Drake and after spending all day looking for him, Drake looked at me. I locked my eyes with his red ones and just turned away.

"I can't belive that he would abandon me like that. What did I do that was so wrong to him? What did I do to make him upset?" I asked Drake, he put his arm around me. He sat me down for lunch under a small tree, and by small, I ment it. It was a good six feet. It towered over me, but not by much, only like eight to ten inches, estimate wise.

"I'm sure Drako will come home to you, Ami, but, you did try and make him go to the Charisific Valley. I bet you he's trying to porve to himself that he deserves to stay on your team instead of training with all those other Charizard. He might think that he needs to do better in order not to make him happy, but, you as well." Drake smiled to me and I sighed.

"Drake, what was your pokemon partner?" I asked him. He grew silent for a minute.

"Well, I never really did get a partner, I got my Phanpy about the day before I met you, and I only got him is for the fact that I helped on a pokemon ranch and there was this abandoned egg that I took home and raised, and it ened up hatching in my care. The little guy is only about a couple of days old." Drake replied to me.

After a nice lunch, I lean on the tree to feel the warm sun on my bere feet as I start to snooze away. After the long morning of looking for Drako, I was ready for a nap. Drake was putting things away and walked by a stream to clean away the few dishes that I always carried.
I can't get over the fact that I just talked to Ami about my pokemon. I know she did ask, but I do wonder if she bought my story. Drako thought as he dipped his hand in the cool water and just looked. Normally, he would never go near water out of his fire pokemon instinct. I should have told her that I love her and told her that I am Drako, she's a smart girl, so I was expecting her to have me figured out. This is my trainer after all.

He looks up to see a pair of Fearows fly over his head and he beging his walk back to the tree only to find out that I was gone and he was in complete shock as he began to look for me.
"Oh man! Where could she have gone!? She can't be far, maybe she's back up on the moutians looking again!" He lookes down to see Marill and Togetic are still sleeping. Panic mode, on high right now.

Chapter 4: The Flame of Love

Drake was on the run across the fields and rocks to find two fearows that he spotted as he was heading back to camp. He was a wish morphed Charizard with a pourpose, to tell me that he loves me, but he has now come up short of finding me. He made it to town and still had no leads on to my location. His fears were running high. He gets to a dead end as he looks out to the ocean and falls to his knees. He scans the coast and his eyes stop at the moutians and sees a rock that looks a bit far off. It peeks his interest as he goes up to it and kicks it to see what it may do. Sure enough! It was a switch to a base and he ran right inside with only one pokemon with him and that was his Phanpy.

Drake ran though the halls, what was waiting for him at the turn of the next corner was beyond him, all he cared about was finding me. Step after step, pant after pant, Drake felt something wet come to his eyes and his vision blured slightly he wiped his eyes.

Tears? Why do I have tears? He questioned himself as he turned the next corner to see a lab, a massive lab. He looked in all the tubes and saw me in one. I just got strapped down and the blue liquid in the tube was freezing fact. It was at my hips and Drake had to think of something fast. He thre his pokeball out and Phanpy appeard.

"Rollout on the glass!" He called out and Phanpy used all his might to try and shadder the freezing glass. He moves his eyes all over the place and sees a crack where Phanpy was rolling at. It gave him an idea.

"Use Double Edge on the crack!" He called. The crack broke more. Drake had to keep atacking it, but, it triggered an alarm and a number of people had Drake caught. He looked at the pokemon to see that they were blue Poliwraths.

"Hypnosis." Was the last word he heard. The crak however was heading the liqid inside my tube, and I had a pokeball hidden as a necklace, the goons thought that it was just a keep sake, that's what I told them is that it was from my grandmother Agatha, who was one of the top battlers in Kanto, so, they let me keep it. Nothing like an Abra to use Teleport.

Drake wakes up in a cage instead of a tube and looks around.

Footsteps. He stays like he was asleep and barley keeps his eyes open and sees some goons coming in.

"Oh look, we beat him up so bad with out Ursering, that he's not even awake yet." One teased. He knew that they were in all black and the hats covered their eyes. They spill a bowl of hot soup on him and leave. His body cringes. He moves forward to hear more foot steps and sees me with my Abra running in, but there were some goons at the door way.

"Abra, use Hidden Power!" I call out and both the goons fly back and I get to Drake's cage and see that he's in pain.

"Drake, what's wrong? What's happening to you?" I ask and watch him. His body was changing.

"Ami, listen, I lied about everything! I am rally Drako, I never ran away. I wanted you to be happy! I never wanted to hurt you, so, I met a Jarachi, and made a wish so I could tell you one thing....GAH!!!" He screamed as I put my hands on the bar.

"Drako, what is it that you want to tell me?" I ask.

"Ami, after you saved me as a Charmander, I had a crush on you, and it became something more....love." He groaned in pain more and more as his wings broke out of his back. As soon as the speel wore off, was as fast as it went on. Drako was back to being a Charizard. He looks at his feet to see that they were the black massive legs and felt his tail and wings, yet, he was not happy as he knew that he was not with me.

"Drako....you love me?" I ask and he looks down to the floor feeling ashamed of himself. I pick up his head by his jaw. His red eyes reflected in mine and I smiled.

Abra teleported in the cell and teleported Drako out. I look around to all the goons.

One had a massive Golem out and I took Drako into the air space of the base as it used Earhquake attack, making the base fall into the ocean. It was now an obstical.

"Iron Tail!" I call out as Drako made his tail hard as steel itself and hit the Golem, it was not ready to give up as it held on to Drako's tail and Abra teleported me off as I heard an attack be called out.

"Sismic Toss." I knew well what that move was, basically what happens is that you throw the other trainers pokemon and I saw that Drako was heading to the water and I had to call out an attack and fast.

    Flamethrower? Dig? Iron Tail?

I waited too long to think and Golem was alrady using an attack. Rock Throw. With Drako over the ocean, I knew that it was going to be a close call if I did attack, but what was I to do? I thought hard and came up with something.

"Use Flamethrower!" I called out. The boulders were at Drako and he was trying to mealt them, one did almost get him, Each rock got bigger, each toss got more powerful, and Drako out above the sea, was trying his hardest to dodge each one.

"Use Rock Throw, Goelm!" I saw the biggest rock ever get picked up by the pokemon and was in complete shock as I saw it be thrown. Drako was in shock as well as it hit him square in his back and I saw my pokemon fall into the ocean. I stood there as the Golem got recalled and stood there in the sand for hours.

The sun was setting. The clouds were the pink and orange that I was alway looked up to, the blue and white Wingulls were going their cries over the sea before nesting when I saw something break the surface. It was a Mantine. It looked like a blue mantaray and I quickly met it as I saw a mass on it's back, It was Drako. His flame was small, and he was wet. Mantine and I got him up to the coast where I put dry wood under his tail hoping that it would spark and keep him alive.

People were gathering, watching me take care of my pokemon. Drako was growing more and more week. He opened his drak red eyes and I nodded to him.

"Just rest, my friend.....I love you." I held back my tears, but, what good was that. My frist pokemon ever has died. I held his head to me as I thought about every battle we had together. When he hatched out over the river, him evolving into Charmelon as he was fighting a mass of Magnaton and Magnimite, and one more time in a school of Tentacool.

Thoes days were gone and I buried him in the mountians, where he will be near his own kind. I picked up the pokeball that had his Phanpy, only to leave his grave, and never come back.
