• The trainee tengu that could

"Momiji, you're the only tengu I can talk to. Aya-sempai always tries to blackmail me by telling me if I don't do a good job on delivering the mail my secret will go public and Hatate-sempai doesn't even think I do a good job at what I do....I wish I was like you Momiji..."

Momiji hugged Mana close and softly patted her head with a smile. Momiji was Mana's best friend and was like a big sister to the tengu, she knows how it feels to be ignored and always blackmailed about what would happen if she doesn't do her job right. Aya was always like that....taking pictures that are either far from the truth or right on the dot.

"Well...that's how Aya and Hatate are and you shouldn't let them bother you. After all, you are the only tengu that delivers the mail to other residents so it's a big job for a trainee like you are Mana. Besides, I think you do an excellent job at what delivering the mail. At least you're not doing what I have to do or collecting random gossip like Hatate and Aya does."

Mana giggled softly and felt a little better after hearing Momiji. She was about to open her mouth to thank Momiji but she was interuppted by a flash of light which blinded her and Momiji for a bit. Where did that come from? None other than Aya's camera of course!

"Aw how sweet! I know what today's love news will be! 'Momiji and Mana: yuri love or besties?' how does that sound?" joked Aya in a serious tone.

Mana wiggled out of Momiji's hug and folded her arms with a frown at Aya, this wasn't the first time she ever thought of doing an article like that. Aya knew that Mana and Momiji's relationship was that they were like sisters but Aya always thinks it's a shojo-ai relationship.

"Sooo....have you and Momiji kissed yet?" asked Aya interviewing Mana.

Mana squeaked and so did Momiji and they gave Aya 'WTF?!?!' faces with irritated frowns. That really did it!

"Yes...Momiji and I have kissed. There, you got your interview. Go ahead and embarass me in the next Bunbunmaru news update, Aya." replied Mana sarcastically to Aya.

"Whoa I was kidding! I won't slander a trainee, that's more Hatate's style. I rather do that to you if you aren't a trainee anymore. Does that make you feel better?" asked Aya with an innocent smile.

Mana looked away and sighed then shrugged her shoulders. That kind of sounded a little better.....but being slandered when she's not a trainee anymore. Great....make her job harder, thank you Aya.

"Oh right! I forgot to tell you this but Mana, you have a ton of packages to deliver to the residents but to lessen the stress...a majority of these are for Nitori so that will lighten the load. But I would start with Yuyuko first because she ordered a ton of food and she gets grumpy when it's not here first. Treat her nicely and DON'T accept her offer for tea! She'll eat an adorable tengu like you up~. 'Kay, bye now!"

And there goes Aya with a pyramid of packages from where she used to be, now Aya is just somewhere else in Gensokyo collecting gossip for her news headline. That just makes Mana glad that she is the mailgirl tengu that delivers the mail instead of collecting gossip. Even when she's done with being a trainee, Mana would still work for delivering mail. Gossip collecting isn't really her thing anyway.

"Mana be careful. The Bunbunmaru weather says it will storm badly so I don't think it's safe for you to fly too high. Promise me that you'll be careful imoto-chan."

Momiji held out her hand with her pinky sticking out for a pinky promise and Mana used her pinky to lace with Momiji's pinky for the promise. She smiled brightly at the wolf tengu, this was why Momiji was like a sister. She looks out for Mana and always has her back.

    "I promise, ane-chan."

Good thing Momiji gave her that bit of advice because after Mana's delivered Yuyuko and Nitori's packages, it was pouring the rain hard and thunder roared in the sky not to mention lightning kept flashing in the sky. She flew low where she can reach tree branches in case she would be struck down by lightning.

"Ah! Almost done! Just one more package to deliver!" panted Mana as she rested on a tree branch.

She reached into her blue mail bag and pulled out a small brown package for someone named Tsukiyo. Tsukiyo? Who's that? Mana was familiar with everyone in Gensokyo, even Yuuka who strikes down anyone who crosses her garden. Wait.....Tsukiyo sounds like a boy name. Strange....wasn't Rinnosuke-san the only male in Gensokyo? How puzzling to Mana so she shrugged her shoulders and put the package back in the bag then went back to her delivery. Mana has an unforgettable memory so the minute she sees something, she never forgets it which is useful since she has to memorize the locations of different Yokai in Gensokyo. If she doesn't have that kind of memory, she'd be delivering mail to the wrong adresses like if she ment to send a letter to the Scarlet Devil Manor but instead deliver it to the Hakurei Shrine! It's a blessing to have such memory....

The rain was falling harder and it was causing problems with her wings so she just ran the way to wherever this Tsukiyo lives. It was still pouring when she made it there but something about where Tsukiyo lived made her eyes widen. It was a shrine and it looked similar to the Hakurei shrine! It can't be! Has her strong memory reach its limit? Mana was about to turn back until she felt someone's hand on her shoulder. Suprised, she turned around quickly and to her amazement...a male in shrine priest clothing was there! Is she seeing things? This can't be Tsukiyo...can't it?

"You're the mail tengu, aren't you?" the male asked Mana gently.

Mana nodded and felt her cheeks warm up, this man before her was handsome....such white hair the color of pure fallen snow and beautiful blue eyes like water....er, make that one eye that was blue. This man was wearing a black eyepatch over his left eye and a white X was on the eyepatch. Why was he wearing one? Did he hurt his eye?

"Um...is Reimu around here? I think I might have made a wrong turn to her shrine or something..." asked Mana.

The man smiled and shook his head then held Mana's hand gently as he lead her further into the shrine. Wow...his hand felt warm, her face was flustered to a bright red. The shrine had cherry blossoms, a pine tree, and bamboo behind the shrine. He must be near Kaguya's place and she never noticed a shrine here before!

"Reimu doesn't live here but I am familiar with her. I'm Tsukiyo Hoshi and I'm the priest of the Hoshi shrine. You've come to the right place." replied Tsukiyo.

Whoa! That was Tsukiyo! Turns out Mana came to the right place after all! She dug through her mail bag and pulled out Tsukiyo's package then he gently took it from her hands.

"Thank you, mail tengu. I didn't get your name. Tell me, is your name lovely as your appearance?" asked Tsukiyo.

"Um....M-Mana Aoikaze. It's a pleasure to meet you!" replied Mana quickly.

She wanted out of here, not to be rude but if she stayed much longer Tsukiyo would make her fluttering heart burst from her chest. Such a soft and gentle voice he has....it made her melt and grow flustered.

"I..I better go! A-Aya or Hatate-sempai might get upset if I'm late! Bye Tsukiyo!"

    "Wait a second."

She felt something wrap around her neck and to her suprise, it was a tan colored scarf with a blue triange on the end. It felt warm and it sort of smelled like him....was this scarf in the package or did he make it himself. It felt like he knitted it in case it would be cold.

"You're not properly dressed and you don't have a coat on you Mana. This scarf would keep your neck warm whenever you're out delivering mail in the cold."

Such kindness! She couldn't help but blush more deeper so she tried to hide her flustered cheeks with her teal hair, turned to him, and bowed her head in respect.

    "Thank you....it's a lovely scarf."

"You're welcome, Mana. You better get going, won't the other tengus get upset if you dawdle?" asked Tsukiyo.

Mana gasped and gave Tsukiyo a wave goodbye before flying off back to where Momiji was. Aya would be waiting for her there and strangely...the weather looked better.

"Hey there, ze. Finished with your mail?"

Mana turned her head to see Marissa flying on her broom beside Mana with a smile and Mana smiled back to her.

"I'm all done for today. And your shipment of mushrooms still haven't come in yet, sorry." replied Mana.

"Meh, that's okay. I can keep waiting. By the way....why are you so red, ze?" asked Marissa with a smirk.

    "N-nothing!" replied Mana.

"Oh yeah, then where did that scarf come from ze?" asked Marissa with her smirk growing.

"I found it!" replied Mana growing redder.

~And so, Mana found out that there were other males then Rinnosuke in Gensokyo. But more mysteries await.~
