• tab High School, Freshman year. A lot of us dread this moment while others can't wait. High School becomes the liberation of most kids and the hell of others.
tab For me, I was somewhere in between. I was the nobody that didn't do anything to get noticed and I didn't really try either. I just made the friends I could and got ignored by the rest.
tab That was life for me at the time. Simple and plain, just as I liked it. I had my friends who knew me and no one else.
    tab Then they came along.
tab Who are they you ask? I don't know and I don't think I ever will. Those three nameless junior blondes who happened to pass my by one day in the hall. It was then that I first heard the words.
    tab "Hey Bob!"
tab In curiosity I turned to see who they were speaking to. To my shock, they were looking right at me and waving as well.
tab I glanced around to see if anyone else was near the lockers I was. Not a soul within ten feet of me. Not wanting to feel too awkward about the situation, I gave them my face of puzzlement and waved back. They giggled and kept on walking.

tab Nothing happened for a few days. Then I happened to pass them again and once more they called me by this name.
    tab "Whats up Bob?"
tab I told them I was heading to my next class. I didn't want to be intrusive and ask where they got "Bob" from. Maybe I should have. Because by the end of that week, every time a prep in my class came over to ask me for help with work they would say,
    tab "You're Bob, right?"
tab Those girls cursed me to bear the name "Bob" for a whole year. I will never understand it. They probably just wanted to see how a random kid would react to being called a random name.
tab Oh well, at least I was only called "Bob" for a year. The other three years I was referred to as Harry Potter....
