• CHAPTER 1

I heard the phone ring and sprinted to pick it up.
"Hello?" I asked into the telephone.
"Hey Kate its Shannon. The club is open tonight and guess who's going to be there?" My best friend, Shannon Gippa said.
    "Everyone BUT me," I said.
"Come on Kate! Just because James is dating Gabby doesnt mean that you two can't be friends," said Shannon. I could practically taste the persuation in her voice.
"Fine, I'll go, but if James and Gabby get lovey-dovey, I'm gone," I replied through gritted teeth.
"YAY!!! I'll pick you up at 6:30 and I'll see you later!"
    "Bye."
    "Bye!"
I hung up the phone, regret sounding in my ears. I glanced at the clock; it was already 5:30. I knew Shannon wouldn't let me bail on her, so I crossed through my house, passing my brothers room. I walked into my closet, thinking of an outfit that would get James' attention. I grabbed a pair of washed out skinny jeans, a navy blue tank top and one of my gray Aeropastale shirts, along with a blue vest that had a fur lining on the hood. I put that on and then went into the bathroom to wash my face, brush out my long strawberry blonde hair and put on my makeup. I looked up in my mirror and saw the horror, pain and regret in my brown eyes. When I finished, I put on my blue converse hightops and grabbed my purse.

    CHAPTER 2

"HIIIII!!!" Screamed Shannon from the drivers seat of her Porsche. Shannon was from a wealthy family, so she could afford things Bill Gates could.
I walked down the path to the driveway, got into the passenger seat of the Porshe, and then Shannon accelerated and we were off.
"Are you excited?! I am...I can't wait to see Danny!" Said Shannon. I swear that my best friend was on happy pills.
"Well atleast you have a boyfriend," I replied, tears welling in my eyes.
"Kate...You know James likes you as a friend, but sometimes you go a little to far to get his attention. Play it safe tonight and I bet you he will notice you tonight," she said, looking at me at the corner of her eye.
"Fine, but if I want to leave, WE LEAVE," I replied her trough gritted teeth.
"Fine." Said Shannon. We turned a corner and there was the club, aslo known as the youth center. Shannon found a parking spot, we parked and got out. When we started to walk torwards the entrance, I saw Gabby with tears in her eyes. I ran ahead to see what was wrong.
"Gabby! Whats wrong?" I asked her.
"James broke up with me," She said.
In my brain, the little storm cloud was cleared and a rainbow was starting to form, but I felt bad for Gabby.
"I'm sorry to hear that. But there are more fish in the sea," I said. Gabby looked up at me.
"He broke up with me because he wanted to be with you," She said. HOORAY!!! was all I could say, but I didn't want to say it in front of Gabby.
"REALLY!?!" I said. I completly forgot about Gabby and was determined to find James. I ran inside and there he was in the corner, texting someone. I jogged over, hoping that I still looked decent.
"Hey." I said. He looked up, and smiled. He put his arm around my shoulder and started to take me outback where there wasnt many people.
"I need to talk to you," He said. His breath slowly crept down my neck, making me shiver with delight, his soft voice and words made my heart skip a beat. We made our way outside and he turned to face me, our noses inches apart. He was only a few inches taller than me, which was good because I had a great view of his lips.
"I love you. I want to be with you and I broke up with Gabby to be with you," he said, pulling me into his chest.
"I love you too," I said. I noticed that his head started to tilt, and I knew a kiss was coming. When his lips pressed against mine, I felt like melting onto the pavement. The rest of the night went great, and I am proud of myself for now being with James
