• I’m going to talk about animal cruelty and how we can prevent it. But before I get into this essay, I have to mention that Animals don’t have voices, WE DO. We can stand up for these little and big creatures on our earth. We need to speak up for the animals, no matter how small. In this essay I will include 2 facts, a small story and an S.P.C.A shout out. First for some facts:

    Fact number 1
Is being scared of pit bulls really necessary? Do we need to freak if we see one? Here is a fact on the TRUTH on pit bulls. According to A-Mac on wiki answers, 3-4 million animals are euthanized
each year. And 25% of those animals are pit bulls! Pit bulls get a bad press! They will fight to the death if they’re in a battle with another dog. But the truth about pit bulls is that they are wonderful dogs if raised to be gentle and well-behaved. People neglect pit bulls, and another
Common big dog, the Doberman pinscher. They LOOK scary, but as I said before, they will be very well-behaved if treated well. Neglect is a strong and hurtful abuse. It must stop.

    Fact number 2
Chihuahua’s LOOK adorable, but a lot are very timid. Everyone wants a little Chihuahua in there purse and dress it up in frilly dresses. Ever seen an owner in this situation? The Chihuahua is around a big dog and the Chihuahua growls and the owner picks it up and says “Oh my poor baby!! Its ok my sweetie! Did that big mean mutt hurt you?” Could you spot three bad things in that little acting thing? Here’s the answers.1) the part when the person picked up the dog, wasn’t the right time at all. If you pick up the dog after it growls, it shows that it’s allowed to growl. Picking up a dog is just like giving it a treat. It’s a praise.2) The Chihuahua showed Aggression. Did you know that The Chihuahua is one of the most top 5 animals to bite? 3) The OWNER reacted in the WRONG way. Ever thought that it’s the dog’s fault? Nope, it’s the way the owner reacts. If a dog gets the wrong reaction from its owner, it senses that the owner is scared. Put yourself in this situation. How would YOU feel if you were a Chihuahua and you had to be put in dresses every day? How would YOU feel? Yes, sweaters are fine, but only in winter.

    The story
One day, Alison was walking down the street. Then, she heard something unusual, something strange. A Puppy’s whine. Alison walked over to the sound. It was a pit bull! Alison picked the pit bull up. “Aw! Hello there sweetie!”Alison said. “What are you doing out here all alone? Here, I’ll take you home and care for you and feed you and love you, don’t worry little Thor. Thor! Perfect name for you!” so Alison went home. Think it’s finished? Nope, it’s just the beginning! On Thursday, July 27th, was Thor’s first birthday. Alison’s best friend Sara came over with her Rottweiler, Neiva. “Hey ally! Aw! Thor is ADORABLE! Maybe Thor and Neiva can be friends!” then, Alison’s other friend, Farah came with her pug, Bugsy. Thor and his friends had a great party, but not so much Alison and her friends. They went on “YouTube” and they found a video on animal abuse. They watched it over and over. They cried, and cried. They all fell down on the floor crying. “Why is this happening?” asked Farah. “Animal cruelty must stop now!” declared Sara. Alison sat silent for a while, and then said “We should make a club and have sales and raise money for animal shelters, like the SPCA! We could have the SPCA club at our school and hope this club will spread all over Canada!” “I don’t think it will spread over Canada, but maybe Victoria!” said Sara. “Sara is right” said Farah. “Hey Sara? Did you know that 3-4 million animals are put down in just one year?” Said Alison. “Oh really? That’s a lot!” said Sara. “You bet, and 25% of those animals are pit bulls like Thor!” Said Alison. “Wow! Seriously? I can imagine what Thor’s family has been through. Probably some tough times. Pit bulls are judged just because they look scary, but there really nice animals!” Said Sara. “Sara is right” said Alison. “Again!” said Farah. “Huh what? OOOOHHHH YEAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! Sara is right AGAIN!!” Alison said at the same time as hitting her head softly as if she was stupid and sarcastically said “She’s the smartest I’m a silly goose egg” “Ha-ha, Alison” Said Farah. “What?” Said Alison. So the three girls made an SPCA club, and within 3 months, they raised over 1000$ for the SPCA! Okay, NOW it’s over!!!

    SPCA SHOUT OUT
Did you know that over 1000 animals are killed in just Victoria each year? And there are over 2000 stray animals in just Victoria. Our shelters cannot take a lot more animals because we breed our dogs and buy other dogs while we leave strays to die. We are over populating our dogs. Please, don’t breed or buy while homeless die. One by one until there are none. Please if you find stray dogs or ANY strays PLEASE bring it to your local SPCA or animal shelter. It helps out a lot.

Thank you all gaians for taking the time to read my essay. I Hope people will someday understand that animal cruelty is really hurtful.
