• ~Guardian Angels~

    Wings on his back,
    harp in his hand,
    coat off the rack,
    and into the dangerous land.

    Up before dark,
    down before day.
    Swift and silent,
    out of harms way.

    Yet tonight he flew,
    his body black and blue,
    no longer an angel,
    through and through.

    Sent down to the living,
    to guard them they said,
    for they had stopped giving,
    instead wound up dead.

    A guardian angel,
    who would have thought,
    to guard strangers,
    strangers he sought.

    Look after the living,
    together they cried,
    or,
    you will not survive.

    The order was final,
    no objection made,
    and so he began,
    this journey of pain.

    Things were much worse,
    than ever before,
    cuthroats and bandits,
    every streetcorner: a whore.

    Lies and deciet,
    guns and weapons,
    trust bereft,
    of trueness to tell.

    So here he began,
    in a world of Hell,
    music his weapon,
    the weapon of Hell.

    In it he brought,
    change and love,
    the essence of society,
    peace like a dove.

    Change he made,
    he really did try,
    more love and less hate,
    fewer children that cry.

    Until he found her,
    the true stranger he sought,
the one he was bound to,
the one his birth had bought.

    She was of the living,
    the ones he must protect,
    yet he loved her so,
    no neglegence and disrespect.

    Here he flew,
    to change her life,
    for he knew for sure,
    for sure he would die.

    She was his replacement,
    another angel,
    the one he waited for,
    millenia after millenia.

    So they met,
    and out of his lips,
    I love you the words,
    the only ones death left.

    The guardian angel,
    no more an angel,
    through and through,
    had found his love,
    and had nothing to do,
    to save his life.

    Yet a new angel soared,
    the skies of the dark,
    and love she roared,
    will be her mark.

    The new angel born,
    for love they say,
and she was forced to mourn,
the angel that had to pay.
