• Ode to Chuck Norris

    My father brought me
    a picture
    of Chuck Norris
which he pulled out of his pocket,
creased down the middle with care.
    I unfolded it
    and to
    the right of his face
    there was
    a message
saying that the world was a rough place
and that I need to be strong.
    underneath
    was his signature.
    It was
    like he said that
right there in front of me
    for
a feeling started from in my feet
    and
    bubbled up into my chest.
I was on top of the world.
I took it into my room and put it on my dresser
    were I would see it
every time I entered my room.
    The sunlight from the window
    shined on the picture
and made his face ablaze like a raging fire
    that was left unattended.

    To this very day
that picture sits on my desk
    reminding me
of the awesomeness of Chuck Norris.

    The moral
    of my ode is this:
    beauty is twice
    beauty
    and what is good
    is Chuck Norris.
