The Sekihoutai march to Edo,
The red banners waving in the night,
Rank upon rank of soldiers staring forward,
Willing to fight.
Led by Sagara Souzou,
The first company marches straight,
The second company flanks right,
And are prepared to meet their fate.
Why do they march?
Why do they go to their death?
They travelled the country,
There is upcoming change said they,
But when they were done,
The government said they could not stay.
The were labeled false,
And shunned from Japan,
Anyone still here and alive,
Were killed to the last man.
So now you know why they fight,
You know why they won't commit bushido,
Now you know why they march,
To a Red day in Edo.
