• I can’t speak.

The words are there – a variety of colours
    from bloody crimson to
    periwinkle blue, yet
    invisible
    to the human ear.

    A rainbow kaleidoscope
visible to only my mind’s eye
    flurries in intricate design:

    sometimes elegant,
    sometimes flamboyant,
    sometimes opaque in distant sight,
    of a crevice to which
    my echo departs –

    leaving nothing but the
    black abyss.

    Leaving nothing but heavy

    silence.
