• Promise of a Lifetime

The world seems so cold to you, icy, like the frost.
The memories we've made together, I hope will melt the barrier.
So many thoughts, I cannot express them all at once.
So now I will hand them to you, a promise of a lifetime.

Is there no one to hold you, to tell you things are alright?
The feeling of isolation, is chilly indeed.
Is there no one to hug you, to tell you they're there?
However stormy things may be, I beg you, don't give up.
For I will be the arms to hold you tight,
through the depths of the deepest storm.

Is your heart to so cold, seemingly impermeable?
The doubts the world has brought, are painful indeed.
Is your soul slowly shattering, final phases so near?
However chaotic things may be, I beg you to keep holding on.
For I will be the fire to warm your heart,
The glue to mend your soul.

Is there no one to hold your hand, no one by your side?
Does loneliness penetrate you, through the dark of the night?
However dim things may be, I beg you, to lie awake.
For I will be the one to take your hand, and never let go.
For I will be your beacon, the light that guides your way.

So now my promise is made, sealed with these words.
That I will be the one to answer your call,
The one to break the chains.
So I leave these words with you, I trust they will be safe.
For I am giving you, a promise of a lifetime.
