• Do you recall
    The events of today
    Eight years ago?
    The lives lost,
    The hundreds dead,
    The ones who saved
    Many a life?
    Let me remind you
    Of the Towers
    Mightily crashing down.
    Of the ones affected
    Not nescessicarily first hand.
    The ones who were simply
    In the wrong place
    At the wrong time.
    Of the saviors who died
    While carrying their
    Comrades and strangers
    From the smoldering wreckage.
    Let me remind you
    Of the children,
    Now orphaned.
    Of the thousands who
    Left well-paid occupations
    To join the military
    To keep us safe.
    Let me remind you
    Of visitors from elsewhere
    Simply visiting,
    Who met a fiery end.
    Let me remind you
    Of the ones who
    Stormed the cockpit
    And sacrificing themselves,
    Saved so many more.
Saying good bye to their loved ones,
    They promised they'd meet again
    Someday, in a better place.
Their was a choice for them.
    They could either die,
    Or die with a purpose.
    What did they choose?
    Do you recall the ones
Who gave their lives that day?
    Today is theirs,
    Recognize it,
    For them.
