• A face in the mirror stares back at me,
    its a reflection of truth,
    something better left unseen.

My secret self, its the real me,
    I hide it from everyone,
    even my friends and family.

A mask I hide behind, one that only I can remove,
    a shadow self I lost,
    a shade society once approved.

I keep the truth bottled inside,
    but I know I can't forever,
knowing only despair, I hide, my body shaking in silent tremors.

For it is a monster I am, a being that forever lasts,
    a consequence of youthful idiocy,
a curse from my darkened past.

The truth is, its the truth I hate,
    for I cannot change it,
bound by fate, I'm trapped inside, a life that is ultimately dangerous.
