• Sorrow choked in my throat like an overflowing sewer,
Desperation to help clawed at my heart,
That poor dog still so young laid there like a limp rug,
The pain of losing my best friend burned in my throat,
'Til the hot tears couldn't be held back,
They spilled over releasing the sobs held in my chest,
The flash if a silver needle took the dogs breath away,
Her eyes closed and left only her body,
We gazed upon her like lifeless dolls,
She left and took our hearts.
