• EVEN TREES CANNOT COMPARE
    MY VALENTINE
    by UC Poika

As a late snow falls among the leafless trees
A pencil writes on paper leaves of love
As deep emotion sails upon the breeze
He pens for her his heart's the sole lover of
Seeds that grow tears in the fertile forests of years
Which heal the broken limbs and every wound
With lovely feelings, saplings like smiles in the cheers
That have spread their twigs where thwarted hatreds swooned
And the timid spoke, the shy cried out aloud,
And the weakest became the strongest in the crowd,
Where the pines' cold souls were warmed and turned fire red
Like a mighty maple shaking its autumnal head
Power blows and any man knows it's true
But even beautiful trees can't compare to my love for you!
