• He held her in his arms and said,
    "She is beautiful,"
His little baby girl born just that day.
Her momma said, "She will be great someday,"
    And they agreed.

    Not too much later
    she said her first word.
    Overjoyed, her parents wept
    tears of joy.

    It seems only yesterday
    she took her first steps,
    To her momma and daddy,
    waiting with open arms.

A few years later she walked on the schoolbus
    for the first time.
"Don't worry about me I'll be fine,"
    she said to her
    worried parents.
    They nodded and
    watched as the bus
    went away.

Not much later she tied her hair
    up in a bun.
    She took ballet
    danced
    and danced.
    Her parents watched,
    proud of their
    little baby girl.

    Years passed,
    that little girl grew.

    She walked into the highschool,
    hugging her parents goodbye,
    "Dont worry about me,
    I will be fine,"

    Her parents watched her walk
    into the large brick building,
and thought about the little girl they
    held in their arms
    so long ago.

    A few months passed.
    She walked home one day,
    and said to her parents,
"There is someone I want you to
    meet."

    She brought in a boy,
    her boyfriend, she said.
    Her parents sighed.
They still saw her as that
    little baby girl.

    She took her first steps
    into the university.
They wept when she left, saying,
    "Don't worry, I'll be fine,"
    They watched her go,
    crying and weeping,
    their baby was growing up.

The parent grew older as well,
    with hair streaked with grey.
    They missed their baby
    every day.

She sent them a letter one day,
they opened it with anxious hands,
    they saw something
    that made them
    glow.

    "Momma, Poppa, Im getting married,
    To my boyfriend
    from highschool,
    you can come
and don't worry, I'll be fine"

They went to the wedding, their
    smiles broad.
They saw their little baby girl,
    all grown up.

    Years
    passed,

    People grew.

And that boy the little girl married
    held their little boy
    in his arms.
    "He is beautiful,"
