I don't need the pain
To know that I can still feel...
It helps all the same
I may not grow old
Untouched by rust just like steel
For I have the Cold.
I know I am well
No fire/light brings me warmth
Be this heav'n or hell
I have no disease
Though this be no winter storm
I am still at ease.
So I never move
Nor do any words move me,
But what does that prove?
A lesson e'er bold;
Pain does not need to feel me
For I have the Cold.
Cold that does not numb;
I will know when it strikes me
Broken blind and dumb.
Is there a limit?
How close one can be to Freeze
but not lost in it?
If you've not been told,
I can't be changed, bought, or sold
For I have the Cold.
