• Description: I'm sick of hearing the stupid songs and poems and stories about girls who put up with messed up (to put it kindly) boy friends (or girl friends as the case may be) and then when I started to complain I realized that was me, so here's a poem about doing something about it. Fate makes the world spin, but we can choose the direction it spins in.

no backing down now
I don't need you
I can stand on one foot
I can breathe for myself
I don't need you
I'm a big girl now

It's unfair how you treat me
It's not right
the things you say
if she's so much better
you can stay with her for the day.
I deserve better
hell she probably does too
but I don't give crap
cause I'm sticking up for me

Here goes everything
I'd say it to your face
if you had balls enough
to look me in the eye
if you had guts enough
to stand up off the ground
and it's not fair to treat anyone like that.

Maybe I won't get over you
but who really cares
at least I'll be stronger than you
and do what I can
to fight for myself
my sanity
my pride
and I won't let you drag me down
for the rest of my life.

Baby, it's not just your fault
but you gotta admit
things would've gone a lot smoother if you weren't such a d**k
