• Brightly painted
    Or discrete
    A smile on that one
    Or a frown
To hide my shameful face behind
    I will wear my mask
    Like a soldier at war
    Like an actor on stage
    Receiving arrows and roses, respectively.
    But in the end
    I will wear
    The one underneath
    The only one
That everyone dons in the end
And it really gets under my skin:
    After all of this hiding,
To be just bare bones in the end.
