• There’s a home on the side of a slow passing river
It has a porch that goes all the way around
And a second story balcony that overlooks the silver water
A path leads from the house down

    To the shoreline
    To a small wooden dock
    A boat floats, tied
The water sways it to rock

    Pines and oaks completely surround
A happy little family picnics in the grass
While a beagle puppy chases some birds around
The humid sun reflects like from liquid glass

Some things arent as lovely as this
But I dreamed this be my Southern bliss.
