• I once was grand
    A magnificent tower,
    A force of nature.
    A friend, a toy,
A playground, a heart with initials.
But that was a long time ago.

    Now I lay upon myself
Spiral notebook on a handmade desk
    My insides coated with imagination.
    Fantastic adventures
    Dragons and princesses
    Pirates and treasures
    Spaceships and lasers.

    Never again will I hold
    A swing or a child,
    Never again will the sound
Of wind chimes be heard from me.
But I can accept this fate
I hold a new kind of joy
Here in this place, I live on
In the mind of a child.
