Kira stalked through the valley as a shadow. When she was nearing her destination she changed into her human form, ears and tail out. Her goal was to upset the wolves and cause them to fight amongst themselves. Prime objective was the alphess and her betrothed. If she could get them to fall from each other then the rest would be simple enough. Finding that way was what her problem was. She had heard that there was a kitten here somewhere and thought of perhaps using that.

Kira lept up upon a rok and perched for a moment. What was she going to use? It had to be something that was close toboth of them. Continuing on she thought of all the information she had on them. If they were any different this would have been a cake walk. But there were enough similarities between the two that if she did succeed would split the pack entirely if not boot out one of them with others following. If Darius hated the cats as much as was rumored then just her and the kitten would do. But perhaps if there was younger wolf a pup even that she could get her hands on. Well... even her queen would have to se the cunning in this plan and find a higher rank befitting of her abilities.

Nithis arrived in the valley with Rhiannon in tow and paused to survey his surroundings. He knew they weren't far now, but he also caught notice of the sluggishness of the woman's body; she was certainly not human, but she could not match his vigor. Turning back to her, he called out.

"We will rest for an hour here... do you hunger woman?"

Turning to the wind, Nithis sniffed about, scenting the air for prey. The air, however, was drenched in the stench of his kind... one of which seemed distantly familiar.

The moment they had set into the Wolf territories Palo had been upset. He of course was probably thinking they would have just passed through like always. However, this time Palo's sense of smell was being bombarded with a thicker stench of the wolf tribes. The horse was definitely stressed as they entered the valley.

Rhiannon herself hadn't slept in a very long time. She was one not to keep track of time or days even. Not being tied down to anything, she had no reason to think of time. As Nithis spoke of resting, she shook her head. Hunger was always the last thing on her mind.

Taking a seat just as he said they would take a break, Rhiannon still lightly held to Palo's reins. He was not steady in this area to let roam free. Removing her backpack, she pulled the cloak close to her back since the backpack separated her cloak from her coat. She didn't often build fires when traveling or create much of a racket, just out of safety.

"I have some dried meat and some vegetables. I'm sure you prefer something more appetizing though."

Watching Nithis sniff the air, she wondered what he thought of her smell. It was something she was born with of course, it deceived races quite easily. Of course he knew she was an immortal due to her being in the immortal areas. Humans didn't quite frequent there at least if they were sane. Her scent however was that of a normal human. She was quite sure he was aware of it her scent being different. Had he run across anything like it before?

They were still traveling in search of the Immortal King. It wasn't as if she would be any help as an immortal herself but Nithis had said something along the lines of her presence being helpful. She didn't mind helping him but she was quite sure she didn't know the king to be able to put a good word in for the man.

Another thought jumped into her mind. They were heading towards a wolf tribe, the one the Immortal King was aligning with. However, what happened if an Alpha stepped into the territories of another Alpha? A worried line overcame her lips as she found herself staring at the wolf. Adverting her eyes, she pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped the cloak over her legs.

Would Nithis be all right? Would she be all right? She had never met a werewolf before. Did they like humans, since she smelled like one? Did they like lone werewolves who claimed they were strong? Rhiannon had heard stories from humans about the werewolves, especially about their strength. It wasn't as if Nithis had expanded on anything. All she knew about the man was the discussion he had with Ezra. He was a very guarded individual and since he was a new person, she had been very shy to the point of not speaking.

Pulling out a well wrapped package from inside her coat, Rhiannon peeled it open and took a strip of meat. Sticking it in her mouth she looked up to Nithis and held up the meat on the cloth. Maybe he would like to try some but she was quite sure he wanted something fresh.

Stepping from shadows, the dark elven features of Feirost looked down at Rhiannon. Grasping her shoulder, he stood and looked at her, "You are the new girl, correct?" He asked. Smiling darkly, he conjured a small flame, "You are brave to come here Rhiannon. Harsh times call for even more harsh actions. Your lucky i can sense that presence of another Immortal," Turning to Nithis he nodded, "I take it you have been travelling with her?" Smiling, his dark aura seemed visible, "I know you search for me. So speak wolf while I still am patien enough to listen,"

Nithis turned back from his scenting to look at Rhiannon, noticing the meat she had with her. When she extended it towards him, he noticed the man now standing behind her. Had he been surprised, which he was due to the fact that the man hadn't carried a scent just moments prior, he did not show it. Nithis looked the man in the eyes, trying not to stare too intently into them; it was hard for him to display an assertive respect for in the wolf tribes, that consisted of staring the other down in a way that was superior and Nithis did not want to give such an impression. He gulped, more out of hunger inducing an overflow of saliva, than fear.

"The Immortal King, I presume."

Nithis had heard little of the man and was not quite sure as to how he was accustomed to being addressed. In response, Nithis placed a closefisted hand across his chest and bowed his head slightly.

"Thank you, if you'll forgive me for being slightly long winded... I feel the analogy is worthwhile; a pack is everything to a wolf... you have those content to serve within it, those who rule it with strength and wisdom, those who are banished from it, and those who willingly defect. This wolf before you is of the latter variety... we would only be kidding eachother, my liege, if we did not admit that the wolves cooperate mostly from fear... rightfully so, I might add. However, this is a degenerate consideration which I cannot bare any longer; what is to separate my kind from scared animals now, if they are without pride? Of those defectors... there are those content with being alone... and those who seek a stronger pack. That is why I have wished and audience with you, Immortal King. I wish to serve you more than my lowly brethren... I wish to be a member of your pack.... a position from which, I may be able to reeducate my brothers."

She had almost lost her grasp of the reins as a hand closed on her shoulder. Palo left out a startled snort, possibly he was just too preoccupied with the smell of wolves to notice the approach. Her attention had been on chewing the dried meat as her free hand lowered from offering Nithis the meat. She noticed his face well enough from the stables and just a glance in the hall. He knew she was newcomer and most likely already knew her position and her skills considering he was probably well informed as the King.

"I am the new musician."

Rhiannon replied with a nod and a smile that was in great contrast to his. She wasn't quite sure what to call him or address him since all she heard about him was Ezra's rantings. Her eyes moved to the flame coming from his other hand. Considering his hand had grasped her shoulder, she did not stand so maybe he wasn't looking for anything formal. Setting the meat upon the ground beside her she was almost tempted to reach out towards the flame in the King's hand. Instead of reaching out towards the flame, Rhiannon reached out to poke the King's leg instead. Why did she have to test everyone's patience? Yep. Lowering her hand from his leg she grabbed another piece of dried meat and quickly stuck it into her mouth.

Would she have to play her music for the King if he ever requested it? Ezra really liked to play music with her so she figured everyone would like to at least listen to it.

Obviously, she was more foolish than brave, traveling with someone she didn't know to meet with someone she didn't know and wandering deeper into a land she didn't know. Nithis was right though, she had come into some help at getting him an audience with the Immortal King. It looked to be a brief one though with the temperment the King carried.

Rhiannon's smile faded as she turned her attention to Nithis. Now was his chance and she hoped she could catch a glimpse of happiness for helping him but the way the King addressed him she didn't expect it. He was at least showing respect for the Immortal King. Rhiannon was quite surprised when she heard what he was asking. Considering the immortals didn't even like half breeds from what she had seen, would they treat a werewolf any better?

Placing the butt end of his scythe down, Feirost smiled, "Nithis, a outcast of the clan of your people. Let me see if i can shorten such a well put speech into more, manageable terms," Lowering to one knee, he signaled the others to sit, "You think your pack incompatent, and would like to hold position in my court as to show your the others of your power," With a smile, he looked towards the now rising moon. Using a clawed hand to draw a diagram in the dirt, he spoke slowly with a voice of steel, "Tomorrow we march to the Centaurs to crush the Fey and their allies. I give you my mark," With blinding speed, his scythe cut a mark into Nithis, "You will act as my personal envoy to the wolves. I trust the Alpha with my life, but what you say of the others is true; they respect us out of fear alone. You will show them to respect me out of fear, or honor," With a grim smile, he turned his attention to Rhiannon, "Elune Plysthu, an Ancient Elven name for musicians. In one life, my wife was a musician. Now I am wed to a wife in which did not even recognize my return. At some point, i would like to hear you play," The Immortal Kings face softened, showing a side which few ever saw, "I have seen you with Ezra, and undoubtably he has told you I am nothing but a power hungry fool. Know this young one, I care for my Kingdom deeply. I will not allow the luxuries of this world to change us," Using his hand, he lit a fire in the middle of the trio and sat cross legged, his armor clanking and his dark hair flowing down his back, "If you have questions for me, now would be the time to ask,"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 30, 2010 7:22 pm
Nithis nodded as the king spoke, choosing to kneel in the dirt as well, feeling most comfortable against the earth. Feirost's words mirrored his own for the most part and Nithis felt no resignations with where the king's speech was going. As the king's eyes rose to the moon, so too did Nithis's, taking the shimmering orb in with a sort of reverence. Tearing his eyes from the heavens above, the king's words caught his attention and Nithis felt a rush of blood at the mention of battle. Then the king moved, fast indeed, but Nithis's keen eyes followed the motion; the king said he was going to leave a mark and if Nithis was to be trusted, than he too would need to trust; the mark landed at the base of his collar bone on the right side, the wolf merely flinching his right eye in response to the pain. Filled with delight at the king's words, Nithis thought this man a wise leader with killer instinct, someone worthy of being his alpha. Truly bowing to this man now, Nithis lowered his forehead to the soil of his homeland.

"Sire... I shall be there as sure as the moon in the sky; you honor me with this responsibility."

A sort of dark grin befell Nithis's face as he rose his head from the ground; his kind already feared him after he murdered countless cowards. If a wolf had no pride, it was no more than any other beast of prey. That being said, his kind were wise to outcast him... he did enjoy the killings a bit too much. Perhaps this king saw deeper into Nithis... perhaps he saw past the well spoken and polite exterior, to the fiendish beast within.

As they were signaled to sit by the king, Rhiannon still remained seated. Palo only returned his attention to sniffing her pack where a bag of oats was sitting at the bottom of it. He was still wary of the wolf and flicked his ear as the smell of blood filled the air from the werewolf.

Rhiannon was quite happy for Nithis and he seemed to be quite happy himself about the fact to come into the King's service. She was sure it was better for him to go his own way, he seemed to hold the service very highly. She hoped the other immortals accepted him as easily since he didn't seem like one to 'spar' with. Nithis seemed to be more... to the point about things.

As the King turned his attention towards Rhiannon once more she perked up; especially since he spoke an interesting fact about musicians. She did not know anything about ancient elven things but knowing the name was interesting. Elune Plysthu.

Finishing off her dried meat piece she moved the cloth further towards the two so the meat would be within reach. She didn't quite know how to leave a comment or approach the subject of a relationship where it seemed one sided or was quelled. She was not versed in such things. Rhiannon took it upon herself to instead to properly introduce herself.

"I am Rhiannon Malak and this is Palo my horse. I am a lute player and I love to search for rare potions, tonics and the like."

Pulling out two carrots, she offered one to Palo, drawing his attention from the bag she was sure he was sniffing at and took a bite of the other one. Nodding to the King as he spoke about Ezra.

"Yes, power hungry fool is about all I've heard about you. I would be most happy to see that you do care for the Immortal Kingdom." Raising her finger at him she gave him a mocking smile. "There shouldn't be a Royal that doesn't care about the kingdom."

She wasn't quite sure which luxuries he was talking about, possibly since she had lost her memories. Maybe Immortals were just spoiled and used to living so long they forgot what fun was like. That was at least what Ezra had seemed like. Possibly this was along the lines the king was talking about. For a moment, she was taken aback by his sudden softness. Maybe it was the fact that he was done with business for now.

"I love the music and I wouldn't mind playing for you."

Wrapping her arm in front of her knees, Rhiannon fiddled with Palo's reins as she thought about questions to ask. Her attention turned to his long dark hair, watching the shimmer it had from the fire he had lit.

"What is your name?"

All she heard was 'Fool king' and 'Immortal King' but he would probably thing it an odd and unusual question but she was sure the first wasn't his name.

Nibbling on the carrot, she reached her hand up to pat Palo as she stood, reaching inside his packs as she pulled out a wrapped bundle. Setting the instrument carefully on the ground, she crouched to unwrap its case. Rhiannon didn't usually play in unknown lands but since there were two quite capable companions and one did ask to hear her play... Why not play a tune here? At least that was what she thought, she cast a direction to the two to see their faces to judge reaction of appropriate timing.

"I am your King, Feirost. As for the luxuries you think about," He said, looking at her lute with interest, "I talk about the fine clothes, the wine, the creature comforts in which most nobles found out to be better than being what we are. There are few who look to our old ways; a time where we kept to ourselves, and kept the world in balance. Yet now they think us able to keep out of this war. We are warriors, not cupcakes like that of the Fey. We live to spread our power. Extinction is not our goal; balance is. Let the Wolfs and Cat kill eachother, but let me have my way with the Fey Queen," Shifting his shoulder, he looked at Rhiannon, and nodded, "Play a tune, mayhaps you shall gain the pleasure of your King singing with you,"

Nithis looked between them and as appealing as a lute may sound, the wolf didn't particularity care for the higher frequencies it could generate. To make matters worse, his stomach very audibly grumbled, giving hint of the three days he had gone without eating. Keeping a stoic face, Nithis merely gazed around the valley.

"If I may be excused..."

"Go and hunt Nithis, and return when you are done," He said, his voice calm and commanding, "Until we return to my home, you are free to speak your mind and do what you do,"

Rhiannon took a seat carefully once more back in her place, pointing towards the dried meat with her free hand. The other hand was holding her Lute on her lap. Palo's reins were just under the edge of her foot as she sat so the horse took the timing to lay down and have a rest.

"Feirost, did you want some? You are free to have something to eat."

She looked up towards Nithis as his stomach growled. So the hunger was finally enough for him to go hunting. Taking in a deep breath, she leaned forward excitedly screaming after Nithis as he left.

"Have a great time hunting!"

Nodding lightly to Feirost, Rhiannon leaned back and settle the lute into playing position.

"What did the Fey Queen do?"

Rhiannon wasn't quite sure on history. Humans, the first beings she came across after her loss of memory didn't remember things all too well. They all seemed young and violent but not too dangerous.

"Great, I would love to hear you sing!"

She always felt very happy when someone offered to do music with her. To her it was a gateway to someone's soul, a way to see how someone really was and their original being. Her fingers began dancing over the double strings of the lute expertly. The sound was quite fitting for the moment, she was ready to change it to fit his voice as soon as he began.

It was obvious by the way she addressed the King that there had been no training on how to greet people or treat royalty. Honestly, she treated everyone the same. It was obvious though, despite Ezra's words, now that she had met the King; Rhiannon admired the way he at least loved the Immortal Kingdom.
