**This takes place after the battle of Trost in which Eren has just closed up the hole in the wall**

Though this was deemed humanities first victory over the titans, Ari had no time to stop and celebrate. There was still much to do. The remaining scouts and cadets stumbled to kill the remaining titans within Trost, Ari stood amongst the bodies of her fellow soldiers, her white hair pulled back and her hands stained with the blood of many. Being a medic in this profession wasn't an easy task.. Bodies of the injured, the dying, and the dead were piling up faster than she could sift through them. Countless men had died in her arms today..

Erik stood alone in the middle of a street, surrounded by ruined buildings, and bodies scattered in their rubble.
He removed his goggles to scan the faces of the dead, as the yellow tint made distinguishing colors difficult. The sight of so much blood and death made him almost regret the decision. Erik clenched his fists and moved on down the street, checking the faces of each body he came across till he found who he was looking for.
It was a younger boy, recently recruited to Erik's squad and showed immense promise, he was also Erik's little brother. "Luka..." Erik's voice shook, as he fell to his knees before his brother's body and tears began to run down his face.
Erik took a few uneasy breathes and regained his composer, quickly wiping his face with his sleeve and slipping his goggles back over his eyes. Erik then ripped the scout emblem from his brother's uniform and stuck it in his left breast pocket before standing back up and leaving Luka for the clean up crew.

Among the chaos her name was called and Ari ran to the newest man being brought to her. She dropped to her knees at his side, his body already shaking from the shock. His right leg missing and blood pooling without hesitation under him.
"Kara! Bring me the metal." Ari shouted loud. Her voice strong. Her fellow Medic , Kara brought the hot flat metal they used for on scene cauterization.. it was painful, but it saved lives..
"Hold him down" Ari ordered to his fellow friends that had brought him. He squirmed but she forced the injured man to bite down on a cloth rag.
She wiped away what blood she could before pressing the hot metal to his bleeding stump.. The smell of burnt flesh filling her nose.

Erik wondered around some more after clearing his sector before deciding to go back to regroup.
On his way he spotted what he thought was the clean up crew, and as he squinted he almost smirked when he realized he was mistaken and it was where the injured were being gathered. He should have guessed it was a little too "lively" over there to be the clean up crew. All the medics were running from patient to patient while the injured squirmed and screamed.
Erik was sure there would be those that didn't make it, and he wasn't sure if he could handle being around dead people right now. So he continued on his way, not to interfere with the medics. Normally he wouldn't let it stop him from goofing off, but today was not the day for joking around with people.

It was hours before the injured had been sated and the dead had been piled into carts and taken away to be burnt. Other members were sent back to help move the injured. The sun was getting low when Ari walked away from the area. Physically and emotionally exhausted. She walked slowly back to regroup with the others, her pants and hands stained with the blood of scouts. She held her head high though, she could never let them see her strength faulter.

Erik stood by the side of the road, with what remained of his squad, watching all the carts of the dead go by one after another. He pretended to be paying his respects to the dead, but really he was doing it for his squad.
Erik couldn't show his men he was morally crushed by this recent event, he had to remain a strong leader for them, otherwise he didn't deserve to be called captain. Much of the military already believed he didn't deserve his position, his unique skills were the only reason he was allowed to lead his own squad.
Their numbers had taken a devastating hit, after regrouping, only two of his men remained.
Erik could see it in their faces, both Soren and Rikard were deeply concerned about what would happen now that Luka was gone. "We're such a small squad, how are just the three of us ever gonna fight now." Rikard said, trying to contain his fear. Soren remained silent, but his demeanor showed he was thinking the same thing.
"Relax guys, small unit tactics are my specialty so nothing is gonna change. We didn't expect to ever have to fight titans on foot like this in the city of all places, but never forget that we're untouchable when we ride." Erik said, then gave an encouraging grin to Soren and Rikard, who nodded back in approval with slightly renewed hope in their eyes.

Theres no rest for the wicked they say and Ari believed it. No sooner had she met back with the rest of the scout regiment, she began the usual routine of patching up the soldiers whose wounds werent as severe. She made her rounds to each man and women, holding a small smile and a bit of encouragement for each one.

Erik and his squad members met back up with the rest of their regiment to get patched up and quickly resupply. Rikard only had a small cut on his face, so he just waved off the medics. "Jeez, don't they think I can manage a band-aid on my own?" Rikard complained.
"Don't say that too loud or you might offend them, besides it's their job, they're just trying to help out." Erik said as he gave a pat on Rikard's shoulder.
Erik didn't get a scratch on him at all, but he gestured towards Soren to be looked at, as he had a fairly deep wound on his arm. "Besides, even a small cut should probably be disinfected." Erik added with a smile, trying to convince Rikard to let the medics do their thing.
Also, Erik would never forgive himself if he allowed Rikard's cut to get infected because he was being stubborn. "I'm more then capable of handling that myself too, the medics are just being overworked" Rikard said, almost sounding sincere.

Ari stood infront of the small group of men. She had said nothing to Rikards first insensitive comment. It saved energy not to argue. Standing infront of Soren she pulled a needle, pre ready with thread and began to stitch up his arm. She watched the man infront of her wince slightly and she offered a kind smile saying sorry..

seiji is walking on the big wall looking at the rest of the world "ill kill them all,i swear ill kill them all." That's when one of his crew members come to him and says "the medic team is healing all of the injured,what do you want to do sir." At this seiji says "well its there fault for being weak,was that all you wanted to tell me." Then the crew member says "yes sir,umm sorry sir for telling you that" then seiji says "just make sure when u talk to me its something useful." At this the crew member bows and leaves then seiji says "just you wait yumako ill avenge you" then seiji gets off of the wall and head twords erik squad to tell erik something. he catches up to erik and says "yo"

"Hey,thanks for everything. Sorry my men are being a nuisance." Erik said jokingly to Ari with a big grin. Rikard cast a defensive glare at Erik while Soren remained silent like usual.
"I'm captain Erik Schuler by the way, the guy you're treating is Soren Klauman, and the big mouth with a bad attitude is Rikard Holstein." He introduced his squad.
Just then someone called out to Erik. "Oh, hey Seiji how are you?" Erik replied after he saw who it was.

Ari nodded her head and offered a smile to Erik saying it's nice to meet you three. She finished patching up Soren and looked over her shoulder as Seiji walked over. He was never much for emotion, always stotic. Ari took her leave back to her horse, wanting nothing more than to get back to base and sleep.

seiji says "im doing just well,only 1 member of my squad died today,hmph he should not have been so weak,the weak deserve to die,well i didn't come here to talk about the past,i came here to ask you,do u and your squad want to come and train with my squad on the outer side of the walls" with a cold stare and a smirk.

Rikard suddenly blew up. "What was that?!" he yelled at Seiji as his fists flew up, ready to fight him. Soren's hand suddenly appeared on Rikard's shoulder, stopping Rikard from escalating things. Soren just shook his head and Rikard's anger seemed to fade away.
It was a good thing Soren was extremely calm, because even Erik was tempted to let Rikard at Seiji. "It depends, Seiji, I could if it's that important to you? Our fighting styles are vastly different, so I don't see how that will help your squad train. You sure we won't just be weaklings in your way?" Erik asked Seiji with a pleasant tone, his expression not showing any anger or bitterness even after all the day's events.
