World Lore

-Economics-
Within the cities is based upon a hard currency system with coins of stamped copper, silver and gold used in exchange for goods and services the coin shapes and decorations vary from place to place but the weight of the coin is an agreed upon value between cities. A Silver Half Throne from Gylsayer will theoretically buy you the same thing as a Silver Dracomark in Darkengaard. but merchants and business owners have been known to show a preference for there local currencies and may add an additional fee on when you use a foreign cities coin. outside the cities commerce is usually done with barter if you can find someone willing to do so. some adventurers have been known to buy measures of steel or iron if they are heading out to a known village. as those metals are much more useful and thus valuable to them.

-Religion-
If yours is a person of Faith, there are a multitude of religions and methods of worship in the world and most all are treated with the respect that they are due. Though zealotry does occasionally spin out of control, this is usually kept in check by the churches themselves. Gylsayer is located on the edge of the mountainous north and the central plains and forests of the midlands the primary gods worshiped in the city are northern deities. they are as follows:

Taal - God of the Wilds and the husband of Rhya

Rhya - Goddess of Agriculture and Birth and the wife of Taal

Manann - God of the Sea and the son of Taal and Rhya (please note that since Gylsayer is not a port city and does not have a large population of sailors his worshipers are a small bunch within the city and he is usually only mentioned in relation to his parents.)

Ulric - God of Winter and Wolves and the younger brother of Taal

(more gods of different lands can be provided upon request.)

-Politics-
Gylsayer is ruled by The Royal Family, a small cabinet of noble families and the leaders of the cities guilds (though these last two have a tendency to overlap). Though it is noted that those not of noble birth can easily distinguish themselves with meritorious service as a craftsman or in the ranks of the Cities standing army. meritorious service brings with is status and elevation. A notable example of this is that the current King-Consort of the city began his life as an enlisted Armsman.

-Adventuring-

Equal parts mercenary, thrill seeker, outcast and hero. "Adventurer" is the catch all term for those who venture beyond the walls of the great cities in search of fame, fortune and to make the world a better place. the status of adventurers varies from city to city. the Adventurers of Gylsayer report to the Headmaster of Adventurers. who currently is Lord Sharpe. the three most lucrative jobs for adventurers are as follows:

Routine sweeps of the surrounding countryside to clear monsters and bandits from the land

investigating rumors of ruins outside the cities.

Escorting the great caravans that routinely travel from city to city.

Adventuring is known for its high turnover rate.

-City populations-
the great cities are primarily made up of humans about 90% to be exact. the other 6% are made up of halflings and the remaining 4% are Dwarves. these numbers have been known to fluctuate from city to city. Elves while are known to exist have chosen to make there own homes in the great forests to the south. and rarely leave their lands. this makes them statistical anomaly in city living. they are however able to be found traveling the great roads between cities as "Waywatchers" and are known to guide lost humans and children to the cities. Surprisingly elves have also been known to join adventurers guilds and have on occasion become a fixture within the guild due to their exceedingly long lifespan.

Dramatis Personae:

Player Characters:

Name: Mira
Age: 24
Physical Appearance:
5’7”, Athletic build, Sapphire Blue Eyes, Brown Hair. Many scars on her body from fights, missions ,etc
Family: Mira is an orphan and has no known family.
History/Bio:
Mira was born in the shield city of Gylsayer. Her parents were both adventurers and were killed by bandits when she was five years old. She had gone exploring in a small tree trunk nearby their camp when the attack started and hid in terror until the bandits had ransacked everything and left the bodies to rot. The only thing she has of her mother is a necklace that had been given to her that very morning. The experience both traumatized her(resulting in a future soft spot for children) and hardened her (resulting in an ingrained mistrust of most others.). She was found wandering outside of the city and taken to a orphanage. She very soon began training herself to become a adventurer. When she finally found someone willing to teach her she quickly excelled in sword training and other close combat. Singular focus and willpower helped her take easily to the adventurer life.
She mostly keeps to herself and when it comes to the Adventurers of Gylsayer, has a working relationship with many, but often does jobs on her own. One of her only close relationships is with her friend Lanora, another orphan that she had grown up with. Lanora took a different route and became a merchant.
Mira officially became an adventurer at 18 and has a reputation as a strong, competent, and willful woman. She is observant, seemingly quiet, but doesn't back down from a challenge. She has a number of scars across her body from her jobs, the most noticeable one being a scar that runs from her right side of her forehead down to her lip. She came very close to loosing her vision in that eye, but was very lucky that it healed.
Mira's favorite jobs are the ones clearing out bandits, but she'll take most jobs.

Name: Declan Fraser
Age: 31
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 312 Lbs

Bio:
Fraser was always an adventurer, or that's what people who know him say. Declan was initially found by the guild sword fighting with a city guard using only a stick to defend his cousin. The guard, though suitably armed and armored, had numerous bruises and a couple of broken bones, all of which were sustained BEFORE Fraser had picked up the stick. Fraser was saved though from execution by Lord Sharpe, who inducted him into the Adventurers Guild in the Shield City of Gylsayer. He began his training unenthusiastically and was happy to collect a decent wage to support his extended family (they're not big like him. He's just a freak of nature). It was only when introduced to a group of enthusiastic young adventurers that Declan started to apply himself. Initially spurred by the desire to look after them, he soon began enjoying the training for what it was and found his place among the Guild.
Fraser's first combat experience was at the age of 18. He single-handedly fought off a score of goblins to protect an injured friend.
The reinforcements, when they arrived, said that it appeared as if a demon from the holy scriptures had possessed him. Peter does not dispute this since he knows that he roared like a beast in the fight.
Personality:
Fraser likes to think of himself as a nice guy. A good bloke. A friend for all occasions. He will eat, drink, make merry, and occasionally flirt (quite clumsily, though he insists that some women find that endearing). He talks loud and laughs louder. Though beneath this somewhat stereotypical exterior is a thoughtful and wise man. Declan has seen and experienced things in the 31 years that he's been alive, is always willing to lend his experience to those who ask. Declan is very good at connecting the dots and reading between the lines and is often brought in to suss out the truth of the matter. Declan is loud and playful around strangers because he believes it's an excellent way to put people at ease. It's a coping mechanism that has been ingrained in his personality. Though when he's with his friends, he's much more reserved and often acts as an anchor point. He is equally comfortable when acting as an ear to complain to, or a shoulder to cry on. When he is unable to use his own experience to solve a problem, Declan will default on the teachings of Sir Duran, the bannerman of Lord Sharpe, responsible for training him while Declan is an old hand at uncovering lies. He has a blind spot when it comes to those he knows. He is always reluctant to believe that his friends and comrades have done anything wrong, even if he is presented when with evidence. Declan is also a man of honor, and this can sometimes be used against him. He has chosen to believe a man can be good, even if the things he does are evil.
Weapons:
Greatsword - It's long, heavy, and surprisingly quick.
Axe - While his greatsword is his primary weapon, the axe is his favorite. When fighting in locations where his sword would be a hindrance, this is his weapon of choice.
Bear hands (no, it's not a typo) - Fraser hits with the strength of a bear, and will certainly use this to his advantage. When he is without a weapon, Declan is just as lethal with his fists and kicks.
Combat:
Greatsword -
Fraser will swing this massive blade around just like a longsword. He's adept at using his momentum to follow up an initial attack with additional swings, chaining together numerous sweeping attacks in rapid succession.
The result is a fighting style that incorporates a variety of turns and spins. Declan will also sometimes use his weapons momentum to move around the battlefield. The sword is also sometimes used in a defensive fashion when opponents get too close for him to swing properly, making use of the crossguard or pommel. For the annoyingly distant opponent who cannot be baited into range, Declan will throw this sword like a spear using the crossguard as a handle with pinpoint accuracy.
Axe -
For the annoyingly pushy opponents and close-quarters combat. When in an open arena, Fraser will use the greatsword as an improvised shield and the axe as his primary means of attack the situation calls for it. He plants the larger weapon into the ground and maneuvers himself around his sword to ward off attacks while using his superior reach to strike out with his axe. Declan is relentlessly pragmatic with his axe work, preferring to use only effective if brutal strikes. Though if the situation calls for it, Declan can employ some tricks, using the gap between the blade and the haft to catch weapons or shields and wrench them aside to create openings in his enemies guard which will be followed quickly by a punch, kick, or some other form of hand to hand attack. Declan's Axe style is more aggressive than his sword style. Since it lets him focus on downing his opponent without having to worry about his spacing.
Hands -
Fraser fights like a boxer, though he has learned to incorporate kicks and sweeps in his attacks. Declan has, on occasion, run into a monster that sought to grapple with him. Those battles usually end with a crushed ribcage from a vicious Declan bear hug.
In Combat -
Fraser is pure aggression in combat. He might hold off if told to do so, but that's only a "maybe." Declan will fight his opponents as they are revealed to him, and will throw a carefully constructed plan to the wind if a friend is attacked or worse, injured. Declan is a firm believer that the best defense is a good offense, and Declan has sought to personify this philosophy. When he is confronted with an aggressive opponent, his response is to simply be more aggressive.
When faced with a foe that favors counterattacks, Declan's go-to strategy is to hit them so hard and fast that attempting to counter and failing would be instantly fatal. He has a bad habit of discounting injuries as insignificant even when they are not, and he would be better served by reassessing the situation. Declan would likely lash out even after being fatally wounded to take down his own killer. If he were to be impaled, his reaction would be to grab the offending hand, crush it in his grip and drag his opponent into his deadly embrace. If he's ever caught off guard or pushed off balance, he will step back and allow others to fill the gap while he regains his footing before surging back into the fray. When enraged, Fraser will not say a word. Instead, he roars and attacks relentlessly. He is an expert at dictating the pace in a fight and keeping it in his favor.

Declan Fraser
_________________________________________________________________________________________

The morning began early as the caravan of wagons broke camp and finally began the last leg of its journey to the Great Shield City. Declan sighed as he put the last of his possessions into his pack, before rising and shouldering his burden. Finally, taking up the tools of his trade and pasting on a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, he walked through the camp, exchanging friendly greetings with those who called out to him on the way.

The wagon that came into view was of typical Great City make. Sturdy, utilitarian, and able to be used as an improvised fortress at a moment's notice. With practiced ease, the bear of a man bounded up to the driver's seat and stowed his bag before dropping back to the ground, watching as the driver finished hooking up the horses. Declan tried to do anything to keep himself from dwelling on this particular wagons cargo. When the whistle sounded, and the wagons began to move forwards, Declan jogged to keep pace with the wagons, the rhythmic clank of his armor and weapons was a comfort.

The remainder of the trip was blessedly uneventful, and when the massive gates drew near, there was a palpable sense of relief that swept through the caravan. Declan felt his spirits lift slightly, and he could not help the genuine smile that tugged at his lips. The caravan was quickly ushered through the first gate and began to lose its cohesion by the time they had reached the third. Declan, however, stuck with that first wagon as it turned down a side road that leads towards the temple of Taal. When they finally arrived, Declan approached the rear of the wagon and unlocked its reinforced hatch and began the grizzly work of unloading the carefully wrapped bodies contained within. Casualties from a monster attack about a week back on the road. He paid particular attention to two bodies that had been tied off with different colored rope—marking them as two of the adventurers who had left with this caravan from Darkengaard. Letting out a sigh, he carried the two bodies and carefully handed them over to the holy men. His task was done. The senior adventurer washed his hands with ash and water from his waterskin before leaving to collect his pay and find something to eat and drink.

The walk through Gylsayer was a practiced one, and Declan paid little attention to the people who stared at him as he passed. Yes, he was dressed like he was ready for a war, but his prominently displayed adventurers tag seemed to put people at ease after they took a second glance. Declan was honestly surprised when he saw what appeared to be a local group of toughs who were giving him the stink eye. But they melted into the darkened alleys when he turned to Square up to them with a smile. In hindsight, it was probably not his best decision, but he was tired and didn't want to have to deal with them. At least not today.

The Guildhall was open, airy, and, more importantly, busy. And after collecting his pay, Declan moseyed over to the tavern section, set down his blade, and ordered himself a pint of something…fortified and a bowl of stew. Both of which tasted heavenly after weeks of travel rations and grog. Sighing in contentment, Declan finally felt himself unwind.

Mira

____________________________________________________________________________________________

As dawn broke over the city of Gylsayer, Mira broke into a nightmare induced sweat. Flashes of her parents blended with images of her past fights. Mostly the fights that had gone badly. She began to twitch when the images began to move faster. When a sword began its arc toward her, her sapphire eyes popped open and she spent a few moments calming her racing heart.

When she finally managed to slow her breathing, Mira sat up in her bed, ran her fingers through her messy brown hair, and glanced across the room at the other bed. Her friend Lanora was still sound asleep, for which she was grateful. She didn't feel like reliving this particular nightmare so soon. She blew out a quiet breath and swung her legs over the side of the bed. Her bare feet hit the ground and she padded over to the window. The small house that she shared with her friend had a view of the river that ran though the city. She was glad for it because watching the water always seemed to give her peace. Mira was not religious, only trusting in what she was able to see or touch, so she had to find peace where she could find it.

She allowed herself to sit by the window for a few moments before slowly getting ready for the day. After she wiped down her face with a damp cloth, she slipped on a clean set of clothes and moved into the other room to make some herself some tea. While she waited, Mira cleaned her armor, polishing any metal pieces and checking over everything for anything that needed repair.

She was almost done sipping her tea when Lanora stumbled into the room. Mira nudged a cup of tea toward her and they sat in a comfortable quiet for while. Eventually Mira stood and began to put on her armor. When her final buckle was tightened, she waved to Lanora as she headed outside. Her first destination today was the Guildhall to see what jobs were available.

First things first, she wanted to grab some food from the tavern. Mira made her way into the busy part of the city, sending a couple waves to some other adventurers that she had previously worked with upon entering the Guildhall. She ordered her food before sitting down in a corner of the tavern to observe the people milling about. To keep her hands busy, she pulled out a couple of her daggers and began doing some maintenance.

When Declan Fraser entered, her gaze was immediately drawn to him. Mira had never worked with him directly, but had seen him around often. Now when she saw him, her gaze was no longer distrustful, as it was with most other people, but intrigued. He intrigued her for a reason that she didn't understand. Today, there was something in his eyes that didn't match the smile on his face. Something had happened.

Declan Fraser
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Declan milled about and, for lack of a better term, drifted, from table to table exchanging greetings and making small talk with the patrons of the table.it felt good but Declan found his mind wandering. out of the corner of his eye he saw a face that he had seen around the guild and tavern before...Mira... if he remembered correctly. She was observing him and his actions.

They had never worked on a job before but from what he had heard, she was good. Steady of nerve and a fair hand with all sorts of blades. that thought made him chuckle mentally. never hurts to have another skilled fighter in the guild.

Never one to shy away from a conversation, Declan excused himself from his current conversation with a hearty laugh and downed the rest of his drink before ambling his way over towards her table. doing his best to smile.

"So... Mira, right? You waiting for someone or are you here by yourself? mind if I join you?"

Gesturing towards one of the empty chairs around her table. he could now see that she was running a whetstone over the edge of a dagger. the rhythmic grind of stone and metal was oddly soothing. and his respect for his fellow adventurer rose a tick. weapon matainance was something he always championed when he was on a job with other adventurers. so it seemed that she was a kindred spirit in that regard.

Then his thoughts flashed back to his task earlier that day and his expression hardened for a moment before softening as he let out a sigh.

"Dry, oil, or water? Which do you prefer?" Declan inquired while looking pointedly at her on hand task. awaiting a response.

Mira

____________________________________________________________________________________________

When Declan made eye contact, Mira felt a mixture of interest and slight trepidation. She often found that men were often either fearful of her or condescending of her abilities. She never knew what reaction she would get, so her body instinctively tensed.

A recent conversation with Lanora ran through her mind.

"I think you need to consider learning to trust other people. I worry about you."
She tightened the bandage around Mira's shoulder. Mira grit her teeth, but simply raised a brow at her friend. Lanora continued, "If you don't have someone out there that you can trust, someone who can watch your back, I'm afraid that one day I'll get a letter telling me that you were killed on one of your missions."
Mira sighed, "Lanora..."
Lanora frowned, "I know the risk is part of the life, but please...think about it. I don't want to loose my best friend."

Mira noticed the smile on his face and let her body to relax by degrees as he walked closer.

It wasn't Declan's size that put her on edge. It was the fact that she had never been great at conversation with anyone, men or women. And that it was difficult for her to trust people. Lanora being the single exception. She still didn't understand how her friend put up with her.

She nodded, "Yes. I am Mira. You are welcome to sit. I just wanted to get some food before going into the Guild and seeing what jobs are available." She moved her shield from where it was leaning on an empty chair and leaned it against her leg so that he could sit. She then ran her stone over her dagger one final time before putting down the stone and adjusting her leather strop so that she could work the blade. "You are Declan Fraser, correct? I have seen you around the guild."

She heard his next question and said, "My preference is definitely water. I find that water is more readily available than oil and I dislike how doing things dry works the blades. Doesn't feel right to me." The conversation about weapons helped her relax more.

Her eyes swept over him, taking in new details that she could see now that he was closer. "You've just returned to the city. Was your mission successful?"

Declan Fraser
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Declan sat down and nodded appreciatively as Mira confirmed her identity and allowed for him to join her. happy to see that things seemed to be going well with this first meeting.

"Well I have to say the stew they have on the fire today is particularly filling. and the smoked beef shank that they carve up for a silver is always good. though if you prefer something lighter I think I smelled some trout cooking earlier. whatever your fancy is."

Those daggers of hers looked wicked sharp. Where has she been this entire time? someone who is practically minded and yet diligent when it comes to weapon care? if nothing else that would lead to some fun conversation while off job. The thought crossed his mind as she talked about looking for work. Then when she asked about his most recent job, Declan felt his sense of professionalism begin to creep up on him.

"The mission went well. all things considered. others and I were running security for a caravan bringing a whole slew of trade goods and raw materials from the foundries in Darkengaard we had some... difficulties with local color about a week out from Gylsayer. A pair of greenhorns from the Darkengaard guild and three of the wagon hands wont be collecting their pay for the job. It's damn shame, Especially when we did everything right. The ones who dropped ours though got theirs, we made sure of that... Anyway I need to drop off my pay at with the bankers... but if your looking for work would you want an extra pair of blades? From what I hear you usually work alone but... well you know it never hurts."

Declan cursed silently in his own mind. Oh suuuure, that was convincing idiot... please dont take that the wrong way... What did Sir Duran always say? better to remain silent and be thought an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt... THAT'S NOT GOOD ADVICE! Welp, in for a copper in for the coin...

"That is of course if you would want to. I mean, team up. I know by reputation alone and by your diligent weapons maintenance that you can obviously handle yourself. but hey Sir Duran always said that while a single adventurer can hold the line, a pair can turn the tide." the big man's eyes wandered and he smiled slightly recalling his mentors words. it was only a moment later that he returned his gaze to Mira.

"I'm willing to try if you'll have me? who knows? maybe we will run into a group of incompetent bandits that I can use as an outlet for my frustrations."

Mira

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Mira saw the worker walking over with her stew and shot Declan a knowing smirk, "Good thing to know before I take a bite." She accepted the bowl, gave the woman a coin and set the bowl to the side to cool for a moment. She took a few minutes to finish up with her dagger before putingt it away so that she could eat. The scent from stew was hearty and she knew that it was going to be good.

She ate a couple bites while she listened to Declan talk about his mission. Security details were not her favorite job, but getting to deal with bandits in any context was fun to her. His mention of taking out the bandits made her smirk again. "The only good bandit is a dead bandit." His next comments made her raise an eyebrow. 'Work together?'

Mira stopped to consider what he was asking, thinking through the advantages and disadvantages that there would be to having someone else along. Since she didn't know what her next job would be, it might be a benefit. Her reputation of working alone was mostly intentional, but she knew that sometimes there was value in a partner. Her hand drifted down to her mother's necklace and she fiddled with it for a moment as she thought.

The last time she had refused to work with another adventurer, she almost hadn't come home and had nearly lost her vision. Her right eye throbbed at the memory. She began to accept or offer help after that, but was still very slow to trust anyone.

She took a few more bites while she took in Declan's build and the weapon that he carried. 'Strong...' Resting her chin on her interlocked fingers, she looked him up and down. "I'm not necessarily against it. I've heard a number of good things about you and your abilities, so I'm intrigued by the prospect. Plus, I'm always down for taking out bandits."

She finished the last of her stew before speaking again. "I think I'm more surprised that you wish to work with me. I'm not exactly known for being easy to work with." Mira put the bowl aside and met his gaze, "Perhaps we should see what jobs are available."

Declan Fraser
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Declan felt a genuine if lopsided grin spread across his face when Mira agreed to work with him. it would be a good thing. when she mentioned that she wasn't the easiest individual to work with Declan chuckled quietly.

"That wont be a problem at all. Everyone has their own hang-ups. I have been known to... fly off the handle at times so if you can put up with my hangups i think things will be fine."

The large adventurer remarked with an easy shrug before lapsing into a comfortable silence with his newfound colleague as she continued to eat. Idly he ran a hand over the blade of his favorite axe, wondering what jobs would be on the board.

Declan's head snapped to the side as he focused onto the crash of the door being kicked open. though he relaxed when he saw that it was one of the other adventurers from his earlier job came in and started throwing his coin around like there was no tomorrow.

Sighing and shaking his head, Declan eased his grip off the axe and casually let it slide back fully into its loop. to each their own. the adventurer thought.

Mira

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Mira saw his grin and rose a brow. He was going to be interesting to work with. After finishing off her drink, she stood up and strapped her shield to her back. She looked up at Declan, "Best way to tell if I can, is to experience it. Let's go to the board and see what there is." She started picking up her sharpening tools. She methodically put each piece away in its place and was almost done when the crash of the door rang through the tavern.

Her leather strap fell to the ground as her right hand moved to and gripped the hilt of her sword. Her left hand hovered over the place that she kept a few throwing knives. Distance wasn't her strongest fighting style, but it was surprising how the tides could turn by a single thrown blade.

Mira watched another adventurer come in, flush with coin. A glance at Declan and his easing grip on his axe. She observed the newcomer for a few moments while she slowly let her muscles relax. When she finally let go of her hilt, she rolled her eyes at the loud adventurer. As she knelt to grab her strap, she looked at Declan, "I have observed that people who flash their money like that, don't keep it very long, whether from spending or otherwise."

Mira put her leather away before making her way to the tavern door, wanting to get out before a party erupted. Once away from the tavern, she went to where the Guild kept its job board and began reading the job offerings. Immediately, she dismissed the escort and security jobs in her mind. She wasn't feeling super protective right now. She would be ok with the animal job, but killing animals that she didn't plan on eating, wasn't her favorite thing. She was always up for killing bandits, but the investigation job was drawing her eye.

Mira turned her attention to Declan "I find that I am interested in either the Ruins or the Bandits job. What do you think? Anything catching your attention?"

Declan let out a short bark of laughter at Mira's observation regarding the young adventurer "Agreed, though I think that lad will lose his though legitimate means. he earned his keep on the job." Following his new associate, Declan gathered his equipment as they both exited the tavern shouting a friendly insult at the gathered adventurers before shutting the door behind him.

Ambling along with Mira towards the notice board, Declan read over what was available and waited for Mira to speak. when she expressed her interest in the Investigation and Search and Destroy missions, Declan stopped reading through what seemed to be an advertisement for a local bakery offering a special on travel rations to reread those offerings.

"Hmmm...my cartography has been getting a little rusty but I have a powerful need to impress upon bandits the error of their ways..." squinting at the two jobs in question and noting that neither of them had a hard deadline. he reached out and tapped both before looking back to Mira. "if your feeling like being a workaholic, would you want to grab them both? I wouldn't mind. Just give me some time to make preparations and deposit my previous jobs pay. Who knows? Maybe they are in the same direction. The tiny print says to inquire about the location of the ruins with the one manning the guild front desk."

Drumming his fingers on the hilt of his sword for a few moments, Declan seemed to reach a decision of his own, removing both filers from the board he began to make his way towards the guild main hall. looking over his shoulder to Mira he said " It never hurts to ask. The worst that can happen is we can't take both."

Mira's hand drifted up to the small necklace that rested close to her heart as spotty memories of her mother flashed through her mind. The thought of bandits made her muscles tense, but she shot Declan a sly smirk, "Can you be a workaholic if you really enjoy what you do? I am always down to deal with bandits."

Reading over each job again, Mira though about ways things could go. Taking both at once could be a disaster, but it could also be a sizable payday if done well. It would be a longer trip, regardless of what they chose. No deadlines was a plus that she didn't always have, so she was certainly curious to see how things would play out.

Mira nodded, "I agree, let's grab both, just in case it is allowed. My thinking is that we should probably hunt down the bandits first since the mapping job will take some time, plus it would lessen the number of people that they hurt." She followed him to the main hall, glancing around at other adventurers as they milled about. She recognized a few people that she had worked with in the past.

Mira started thinking through all of the preparations that she would need to make before setting off. She hoped that Lanora would have all that she needed. "Depending on what we learn about these jobs, we may need a couple days to prepare, so you'll have plenty of time."
