"Rarely. David makes certain to keep files on everyone in the city, whether they live here or merely pass through." She stopped momentarily, turning to Vikteren and leaning in so that he could hear her well. "When we get there, you'll meet a boy named Jonas. David instructed him to watch you so that he might construct a file on you." She grinned slightly, her eyes flashing in a peculiar way that always meant she knew a secret. "I was with him when he wrote the letter. Your history is total darkness and David can't stand it." She turned quickly back around, giggling in a rather reserved manner, and continued on his way. "It doesn't take long for Talamascans to gather up information and copy it all down into a folder. By the time we leave they'll certainly have a detailed file on this witch boy. You too, probably. Jonas will be watching you like a hawk." She knew as well that Aaron, assigned directly to her by David years ago, would record every last word that she said and movement she made. "They can be a bother sometimes. It's one of the reasons that my entire family hates them, particularly poor David."

He watched the two of them leave, then Sabata floated up into the air. With a quick glance at the house, he flew off for the Talamasca Motherhouse. Now to get some answers

"I am almost inclined to pity him," he commented dryly. "Anyone who has incurred your kin's displeasure, if they are anything like yourself, might as well sign themselves into the madhouse of their choosing." Vikteren rather hoped that Antha was wrong about his own history. He did not like the thought of it taken down and stored in some musty archives, for anyone's perusal should they so choose. And it was not a story he had often had the opportunity to tell, nor the inclination--he was not a natural storyteller, and had never been. Even when he was alive.

"Madhouse? Not at all. If my family history has proved anything, it's that Mayfairs prefer killing off Talamascans." She paused again, glancing over at Vikteren with a thoughtful gleam in her eyes. "If you don't want them to know about your history, then just be cautious around them. You can't stop them writing down what they themselves observe, but your mind is too well guarded for them to discover anything without you mentioning something that gives them a clue." A little sigh escaped her lips like a breath as she stared in the darkness of the dense trees ahead. "It's not safe to make much noise here," she said softly, "Or to linger too long. This is Julianne's territory. She's the one who made Sleet, you know. And though she was surpassed by her fledgling, she's still a creature to be wary of."

He gave Antha a look out of the corner of his eye, then scooped her up into his arms. "Then we'll be gone from here as quickly as possible." he said, matter-of-factly, and--still moving with that weirdly fluid vampire grace, still silent, and certainly going faster than any normal human could've--went on.

Immediately she tightly shut her eyes and grabbed hold of his arm in reaction, minorly shocked at his actions and very slightly frightened, though she was quick to release her grip. "You could have warned me," she said softly, her voice just loud enough for him to hear. In the back of her mind she could see flickers of light that she knew didn't exist, tricks of the mind created by David's dedicated web of adoring spirits as they reached out in all directions.

"Yes," he acknowledged--Vikteren had noticed the flickering lights, but said nothing of them. Nor did he slow his pace. He knew just how territorial the elder vampires could become, and he was far more concerned with avoiding their notice than with these odd, fey, will-o'-the-wisps. He could sense something out there, but he didn't think it had detected their presence yet. Vaguely, he had to wonder whether Antha often took this path, and why she would willingly go into the territory of this--Juliette? Julienne?
Didn't matter.

With a passive eye Antha watched the weak little spirits, one sewn onto another so that they became one complex entity. "Vikteren, we're here," she said finally as they came near the edge of the woods and she could see the brightly lit windows of the grand motherhouse, or Lorwich Castle as it was properly called. But she didn't like to think of it as a castle, and so it was always to her mind simply the motherhouse. "Put me down," she instructed hurriedly, the excitement spilling out of her finally as she returned to her feet and dashed across the green lawn towards the front doors.

He put her down quietly and opened the gate for her, leading her up the path to the door. He tried the doorknob and found it unlocked as always. Antha's fragrance filled the house as always and he loved that but he could smell Vikteren here too. The scent was old though. "And now." He lifted her to streak up the stairs and down the hall to her room. He kept an arm around her to throw the windows open but as soon as that was done he threw her down on the bed. Instantly he was tacking her down, hovering half a foot above her. "How long has it been since we've lain together, Antha?" he asked sincerely.

"Quite a while..." She ran a finger along his neck quietly, considering it would seem, until finally she gave a decisive push and the umbra dragged him back. "And I'd prefer we not change that just now." As she spoke, her mind wandered back to Lorwich Castle---the Talamasca motherhouse---and she sought out Vikteren. It's time to come home. She was careful to make certain her thought went only to Vikteren, shielded from Nicolae and David and any other prying minds.
It didn't seem to register as peculiar in her mind that she was already referring to Satis House as his home. After all, he had promised to stay with her.

Kaze The Despised

"Hm... I gotta bad vibe just now. Ren might be in more trouble than worrying about me. I should probably pay a visit to that Antha girl at Satin House."Kaze then quickly flew over to the Satin house and rang the doorbell. "Midnight delivery to Ms. Antha." Kaze then decided he'd just be an idiot and have some fun. He then knocked the door open and came in. "Yo, I got to talk to you for a minute!"

The very rude intrusion into her house only released from Antha a sigh as she rose wearily and, pausing to kick off her shoes, padded quietly down the hall. She stopped at the foot of the stairs, leaning against the banister and watching him through the sight of the umbra. "I have no quarrel with you," she stated simply, "And therefor I seek no harm against you. But your friend..." She paused, smirking with a little sound of frustrated amusement, hardly audible even to a preternatural ear in the stillness as was found in Satis House. "We have one common law in Osiris City---respect the boundaries of the territories. Your friend---'Ren', as it seems he is named---he broke into two separate territories and stole from both. And it helps nothing that I gave him a chance to explain himself and he merely ran." At this she continued down the hallway with soft steps, the candles fixed on the walls flaring into life as her eyes narrowed at her visitor. "Even if I did not care to hunt him down, which quite obviously is not the case, there are a handful of others who will punish him for his injustices."

Kaze The Despised

"Like who do you mean, Antha?" Kaze's sword aura soon came into the room and blew out the candles as his impatience grew. "If anyone that works for you gets in my way of taking Ren down myself, they and possibly you will pay. But I can ask a favor of you, even if it is quite odd for both of us to work together. If I can take down Ren with no one else but Raid fighting him, then I may just spare your property, along with some of the city." Kaze smirked, showing his right fang. "So, how 'bout it?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 23, 2007 9:50 pm
"Hmm..." This was the only noise she made for a few moments, watching him carefully, before quite silently she stepped up to him, her eyes piercing him and picking him apart. The umbra made a cloak about her instantly, protective as always, and she allowed it. "I suppose I'm not quite in the right health to be hunting down vampires," she admitted grudgingly, her voice as precise as ever and her peculiar accent fluid, "So I'll let you have him. Given, of course, that he suffers at least a little. However---" Her eyes sharpened, fiery orbs all at once, as she watched him. "If you attempt any damage to our city, then we will stop you, mon cher. Don't think you can overpower a legion of creatures as powerful as us, either." Though her smile was venomous and her voice severe in her threat, everything else about Antha remained calm and friendly. After all, as of yet she had no true quarrel with this being.

Kaze winced at the fire just a bit. "Well, destruction, no matter how small or big, is immanent if it's me and Ren fighting. Last time we nearly destroyed two cities. But that was a pure accident, and before I was this mad creature you see before you. But don't worry. I'll try and spare as much of the city as possible." Kaze smirked as his sword aura again consumed the room and blew out the fire. "Anyway, for what reason do you want me to make sure his death is slow and painful? And on top of that, what if I were to fail at this task?"
