((I'm doing a 12 page final 12 hours before it's due. I think I win this one.))
"I haven't been to a zoo in ages..." She said, her voice trailing off. "Geez, Gren, you're getting me all nostalgic!" With a slight chuckle, she took another sip of her Pandemonium.
Sosol slid down the bar slightly, getting a little closer to Kageko and leaving Gren and Azana to discuss more cheerful things.
"So what exactly had you running off to the woods...?" He asked casually, sipping his wine. "Not much out there, usually..."

"Oh, I had an errand to run," Kageko replied to Sosol's question in her customary manner and then immediately initiated her customary change-of-topic strategy, a strategy that she often used. Actually, she had used it so often that it would have probably been suspicious if she hadn't tried to change the topic after stating that she had gone off on some errand. She continued, "Besides, the woods are actually pretty interesting. There's so much life in there and so many different types of creatures. It's actually pretty fun to see how many things one can notice. That, and it's really good training."
(OOC: eek And I thought that I was procrastinating when I was rushing to finish a five page report last night sweatdrop .)

Azana ran her fingers through her hair, her chuckle fading into a lazy grin. "Heh...to be honest? The people...the crowds that visit the zoo are the ones who belong in the pens and exhibits," she commented. "Current company aside, of course."
She rested her elbows on the bar. "Wow...I think I was eight when I first went. Stella, Charles, and I..."
"I know how that goes," Sosol said with a smile, putting down his glass. "I find them very peaceful...quiet, calm...perfect place for a walk."

'Hey now...they aren't so bad when you go on a weekday..." he chuckled. "Less people have time off then, so it's less crowded and loud."

Kageko nodded in response, "Especially when you go off the track and don't have a map. I remember doing that in the woods right by the inn when I was younger. It was a fun challenge to try and find my way out of the woods."

"That makes sense," Azana replied, resting her head on her hand as she took another sip, starting to feel that slightly fuzzy sensation she would get just before getting tipsy. "I might have to take that idea...I wonder if they still have the butterfly exhibit in the summer..."
"So you must know them backwards and forwards by now," he said, finishing off his glass of wine. "Must be useful...I still get lost now and then."

(True! It's fabulous...way better than high school. The paper length is the trade-off...and just as easy to BS through, more or less.)
"They should...the aviary's really nice this time of year, though." He drained his glass, setting in on the counter and carefully standing up. "Anyway, I'd better get this little trooper to bed...See you in the Am, all." With that, he picked his was up the stairs, careful not to wake Emily.

Azana waved lazily to Gren as he took Emily off to bed and looked at the swan in her lap. "Auntie Azana..." She smiled at the thought, finding it comforting that the child was branching out from "Mommy, Daddy, and Daddy".
Hm...just yesterday she was still afraid of me. Just what miracle did they pull...?
"True for forests, and even more so for people," Sosol shook his head with a sigh, looking over at Azana to check on her. She was starting to get to that point where she was incredibly talkative...too bad Gren had just vanished to bed with the kid.
"So...I didn't even realize Knight had a team, did you?"

Kageko shook her head, she had never really bothered to worry too much about Knight so had never invaded his privacy, "No, I didn't. Although, he did have a superhero vibe about him and, honestly, what kind of superhero doesn't belong to some sort of organization or another?".

"Well...no, he isn't dark enough for the solo hero gig, is he?" Sosol chuckled slightly, noticing Azana seemed distracted with her thoughts about zoos, swans, and being an aunt. If she's an aunt...just whose sister is she supposed to be? He thought jokingly, his opinion juggling between Angeles and Eli.
"...sounds like you didn't get much of a chance to talk to her," he said, floating the empty gin tumbler to him to clean.

"Who else?" Sosol rolled his eyes behind the sunglasses, giving the tumbler a rinse before a soapy sponge worked its way around the inside and outside of the glass. "You run into her in the woods...perfect opportunity to ask her what she's doing with all this. Except she shoots you, throws a fit at Knightsoul, and sends a henchwoman to do something she, in any other situation, would do personally. Am I missing anything?"
He rinsed the glass again, wiping it down by hand with a towel. "Whatever she's got going on, she obviously is trying to keep us from it."
Azana took another long sip of the drink, having it mostly depleted by this point, and hugs the swan with a large smile. It had been so long since someone thought of giving her a stuffed animal. She remembered someone saying that a girl was never too old from them...maybe they were right about that.
