"I was worried about you," he answered, turning and going to sit by the fireplace. It was summer soon, they would no longer need a fire there. This was a bad idea, Zulma's actions told him so and he was mentally beating himself up over it. However, then he realized something horrifying. He was still wearing the crystal. Quickly he tore it off and shoved it into his pants pocket. His heartbeat quickened with panic and he did not turn to look at Zulma, hoping that she had not noticed.

"Worried...about me?" the innkeeper had to admit that she was stunned. She unconsciously followed the man towards her preferred spot in the Inn and sat on the carpet.
As she sat, she blinked. Something strange just happened. Like if...Baldur was not there. She knew that he was not physically there, she had left him asleep when she had woken up early, yet a moment ago she could 'feel' him, but now...
The combination of Anansi's strange behavior and the feeling of being 'alone' was not helping the woman into understanding anything.
"Anansi...why were you worried?" she asked looking at the man and holding his gaze despite the warmth she could feel on her face.

Baldur looked over at her then at the ground to think of an answer, "you were gone for a long time with no reason, I was worried maybe you had gotten lost, or hurt, or worse," he looked at the fireplace, into the fire and began planning ahead in his mind for any future questions.

Tyler lost interest after a few minutes, noticing that it was starting to sound almost like a soap opera, and pulled a couple tools and his broken suppression belt out of the bag. There was probably a circuit or two he'd have to replace, and no time was better than the present, especially since he had just signed up to help with Remy's rescue.
I doubt it will be too helpful if we're discovered, but I think this is going to edge more toward a stealth mission, he thought, remembering Chris' cloaking device. If the superhero team tracked them to the Manor, they'd blow the cover in an instant. There had to be some way of finding and disabling however it was beaming his location...
Azana did a turn in front of the mirror. The TaylorTech suit still fit as perfectly as when he gave it to her, though she wasn't sure whether that was because she was staying in shape or that it was designed to always conform to the wearer. Part of her didn't want to go downstairs looking like this; after all, Zulma would likely get worried.
Then again, this was her job, and she already had a plethora of excuses based on former missions. She just had to make sure Sosol was ready to leave, as well.

Zulma blinked, not convinced at all. For once the man was the one who looked away. The mixture of arrogance and worry was shifting her back and forth. She did not know if she needed to be flattered or annoyed.
She grabbed his wrist and pulled him to face her.
"Anansi, who are you?" she looked at his golden eyes wanted to understand who was this stranger who was haunting her nights, who was filling her thoughts, when she did not know anything about him.

Baldur was surprised as Zulma turned him to face her and demanded his identity. His eyes widened slightly, but then blinked back to their normal almost bored state and said, "you know who I am," he said simply.

Zulma's heart pounded at his answer. This discussion was pointless. She did not want to guess, she wanted him to tell her. Why was he speaking in riddles?
She slowly let got of his wrist, his skin was so warn.
"Do I?" she asked painfully still looking at him.

"I'm Anansi," he said withdrawing slightly at her pained voice. As she let go of his wrist he stood up and walked towards the kitchen to get himself a glass of water.

Gren stretched, yawning. Another night of light sleep...he was doing better on his own than he used to. Pleased, he stood and got into a shower.

Azana walked downstairs, the creaking of the wood beneath her announcing her presence. She looked over to Zulma and Anansi, not even wanting to get involved in whatever romantic drama was going on, and reluctantly joined Tyler at the table again.
A smirk crossed his face as Azana approached, a temporary distraction from the work. "Well, hello there," he said almost flirtatiously, "you've changed your uniform."
Azana glared at him, a small electric charge in hand. "Need I remind you you're still on thin ice?" She replied harshly, looking down at the shorted belt. "What I wear depends on what I'm doing. TaylorTech seems necessary today."
"You'd be right about that," Tyler replied, looking back to his repairs. "I may have to take a short detour back to my place...I didn't really pack for something like this."
"You are more than welcome to. Hell, you can stay there, if you want," she retorted.
"I'm not that easily discouraged, Azana," he said, his voice lowering in hopes that Zulma would not eavesdrop. "I owe Remy for just about everything; I'm not backing out."
"Besides," Sosol chimed in, having approached mid-way through the conversation, "he's already shown he can hold his own in a fight."
"Don't remind me..."

"So you are..." Zulma answered in the same bored tone as the man. She looked at him as he stood up and disappeared in the kitchen. He'll drive me nuts...yet looks like I just cannot help it... she mentally sighed.
Her attention was attracted by Azana who was wearing a very unique outfit and who was speaking secretly with Tyler and Sosol. She raised an eyebrow and called across the room.
"Celebrating anything special Azana?"

Baldur began to drink some water and sighed, rubbing a hand against his eyes. This was a mess, how much longer could he go on like this? he reached into his pocket and pulled out the crystal before putting it back into his pocket and closing his eyes.

"Urk!" Azana froze, turning to face Zulma with the best smile she could muster. "Eh heh, perhaps...depends how things turn out," she answered.
Sosol smiled somewhat bashfully. I'm hoping so, he thought, his eyes on the puzzle box. Skuld had written an immaculate sign that sat in front of it, simply saying "Do not touch". Whenever Azana got around to opening it, she'd be in for one heck of a surprise.
Tyler chuckled lightly. "And we're not telling her why...?" He asked, his voice still low.
"She doesn't know about Angeles," Azana shot back at the same volume.

Zulma's attention turned to Gren as Gren he and she smiled forgetting about the strange meeting at the other side of the room. Azana and the others were safe...for now...
"Hello Gren! How are you today?" then she recalled the man's prediction.
"It seems that you are a medium my dear friend...guess you showed up this morn-" Zulma stopped at once as the contact with Baldur hit her.
She blinked puzzled. What was going on?! A second ago, but now...she brought her hand to the crystal at her neck. Baldur had the other piece.
