All three raised their hands for another card.
Tyler gazed down at his showing seven, looking around at the others. It's only the first hand...watch them, see how they play.
Sosol smiled calmly at the other three, rather enjoying the competitive atmosphere.
Azana looked to the other three. While she was showing a queen, the card underneath wasn't enough to stop with. I chose the wrong opponents...but this'll be fun anyway.

Placing a card for each of the other players, he considered what he had. Nine showing...not bad. "I'm done..."

Tyler nodded as a four landed before him. Showing eleven, though by his hit it was clear he wasn't hiding a ten. "That should do it..."
Sosol watched a two turn up. Now he was showing seven. "Another one, if you please." He still smiled just the same as before, his pleasant demeanor hard to read.
Azana had a king to accompany her queen. With a sigh, she flipped her hidden card to reveal a three. "That didn't take long..."

"A jack...alright. I think I've had enough."
Tyler looked between the two of them, observing carefully. These two were very good at hiding their thoughts and idiosyncracies, and he knew it. It was only a matter of time, though, before they caught his attention.
Azana gave a shrug and went back to her puzzle box, crunching absently on a pretzel in a moment of forgetfulness...

"Ha!" Tyler laughed, turning over his other seven. "Nineteen!"
Sosol gave a cheerful smile, turning over a four. "Twenty-one?"
"Hrm?" Azana asked, another pretzel in hand when she finally realized. "Oh! Sorry...your fault for using snacks, though."

"Fair enough...I suppose I should have some while I can. Unless they're from demented mages, it seems cards just don't like me." Azana popped a chocolate into her mouth with a smile, ready for another hand.
Tyler glanced over at Sosol before shrugging in defeat and pushing the pile in the center his way. "There's always another round..."
Sosol chuckled. "It's all luck...you'll see next hand."

Azana glared at Tyler. "I dare you to say that again." She pushed in her ante forcefully. "No, really. Go ahead."
"No, no," Tyler said with a sinister smile, "I know when to stop."
Sosol shook his head, holding back a smile at the genius' humor as he put in his ante as well.

Gren smiled quietly, enjoying the friendly banter, and glanced at his card. He was showing a seven. Placing down what revealed itself to be a two, he looked about. "Hits?"

"I don't think you do," Azana replied, not taking her eyes off Tyler. However, the hand was down, and she needed to focus. She looked down, showing a five. Biting her lip, she lifted the face-down card. "Hmmm...right here."
Sosol shook his head, tapping the table next to his eight. "Me, too."
Tyler stifled a rather harsh remark and glanced at his jack. Looking underneath, he shook his head. "I'm staying."

Both Azana and Tyler looked sideways to Gren before settling back to their hands.
Tyler comfortably showed a jack and showed no signs of changing his cards. His eyes, instead, were fixed on Gren. If he could just figure out his methods of play...
Sosol shook his head as a ten landed, flipping over his six. "I'm done."
Azana breathed a sigh of relief at the four. "That's enough for me."
