In the lunch bag there was a small note that simply said 'I'll bring some more tomorrow'. She glanced at Debra and nodded, "Sure I'd like to hear what's going on though my guess is that Brandy was fooling around with her friends boyfriend. And that jacket belongs to Nate I think, the quarterback that one the game yesterday. It doesn't surprise me that she ended up going after him and all." She sighed and shook her head while she got in the car and drove off to the vet though it wasn't too far form the hospital.

"I'll be back," Sofia said as she got out of the car after parking it and left it running since she would be in and out. In a matter of minutes after she left she came back out with Bo following her, happy to be out. He jumped into the back and sat there sticking his head out the window after licking Debra's cheek, his way of saying 'hello'. "So, do you want to go back to my place or would you be alright going to the park with me and Bo? He needs some fresh air."

(OOC: So when does Alex get to check out of the hospital?)

Nate was Alex's next visitor, and as they clasped hands, he said, "I told you that we'd win it for you!" "Yes, you did," Alex replied, and he acknowledged the reality of the situation when he added, "It's your team now. Just don't get too cocky. It's not going to get any easier." "I won't,"Nate assured him. Alex then smirked as he remarked, "I've heard that the football field isn't the only place where you scored." Nate shrugged and said, "Word really gets around fast." "Yes, it does," Alex said in return, "That and Brandy was here a short time ago with your letterman jacket on, and that pretty much confirmed the rumor." Alex had decided to not mention Tyrone, since Brandy wasn't likely to pursue that relationship any further. "Ah. I see," Nate said with a smile. After a brief pause, Alex said, "You do realize that you're far from her first." Nate considered that for a few seconds, and then replied, "This is the way that I look at it. Brandy is like a used car. Today she's my used car, and when I decide that it's time for a new ride, she'll be someone else's used car." That was a fairly accurate metaphor, and so Alex said, "I see what you mean. Just make sure that you don't get her 'assembly line' started before you send her on to her next 'owner', if you know what I mean." Nate understood what Alex meant, and he replied, "That's what condoms are for."

"Hi Bo!" Debra said to Bo just before she got some doggy kisses from him. In response to Sofia's question, she said, "The park sounds great to me!"

((OOC: Keeping in mind that I'm not a medical expert, I'm thinking of keeping him in the hospital until the next day for observations. Doctors seem to like to do that a lot. I'm also thinking that it's going to be a few days before the corrective surgery can be scheduled. Just before Alex goes home, though, the doctor will want to discuss a couple things with Sofia.))

With a nod, Sofia, Debra and Bo were now relaxing at the park, Bo chasing bugs and playing with other dogs, seeming to be happy that he was no longer having to deal with being sick. Sofia and Debra on the other hand sat under a tree on a bench talking and the topic had turned to how most girls their age had little respect for themselves. "I just don't understand what drove young women today to show off their bodies so inappropriately. There are more 'players' today because girls no longer have self respect. Now a days is why buy the milk when the cow is free. It's such a sad thing to witness but I suppose that's society for you. If a guy really loves a woman then he could wait but considering the free cows walking around, they simply move on and that shows how love is hard to find now a days." She sighed and shook her head as she stretched a bit, taking her glasses off to rub her eyes.

(OOC: Alright, that's what I was thinking..somewhere along those lines that is lol. I guess when Sofia goes to pick Alex up on Sunday the doctor will want to speak with her.)

"I think that part of it has to do with the way that a person was raised. It seems that a lot of kids think that they can do whatever they want without bothering with the consequences, and if something bad happens, there's a quick way out of it, and if they turn out to be messed up, it's someone else's fault. I think that Brandy is a perfect example of that. I've heard a few things about her by now, but what I want to know is do you think that she would be so willing to hook up with anyone and everyone if her parents had taught her that such behavior is wrong?" Debra said. After a moment of thought, she added, "Of course there have always been women like her. That's why prostitution is called the oldest profession in the world. I think that the media today gives too much publicity to Brandy and her kind, to the point where it's easy for a young girl, or guy, to get the idea that such behavior is acceptable and desirable. Tell me this. Have the Kardashian sisters done anything to truly deserve the fame that they have?"

"I couldn't agree more," Sofia said as she looked at Debra and gave her a serious expression when she asked, "Who are the Kardashian sisters?" Sofia didn't spend too much time watching television or going around the internet to see what the latest gossip was. In fact, she didn't pay attention to the gossip at school so whenever people spoke of these Kardashian women, Sofia for the most part tuned it out. Bo had grown tired and joined the two, sitting beside them watching people walk past.

"You see? If they had done something truly important, you would already know who they were!"" Debra replied with a smile, as if Sofia had just proven her point, and then she continued, "Anyway, the Kardashian sisters are these models who star in this so-called reality TV show by the name of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians', and during these episodes, the cameras follow around the Kardashian family and another family, showing to the world the things that they do on a daily basis. As if the life of a model has any resemblance to the life of normal people like us. When I think about these so-called reality TV shows, I have to ask myself, at what point in time did these show writers forget the meaning of the word 'reality'? Do you think that the 'Survivor' TV series is an accurate representation of what it's like to be stranded on an uninhabited tropical island? I think that 'Gilligan's Island' was closer to reality that 'Survivor'."

"That is the exact reason why I don't watch television," Sofia said with a chuckle as she could hardly believe that people actually watched shows like that. If anything Jersey Shore was probably the worst of them all but keeping the television shut off was a good way of avoiding your IQ from dropping. Sofia stood up and grabbed Bo's leash, "Alright, time to go home and eat some lunch." She smiled and of course Debra was welcome to come though around 3 Sofia would have to go visit her parents, something she didn't want to do so she had forgotten about it until now which she randomly remembered. On the way to the apartment she told Debra about it and told her that she could stay with Bo while she was gone for a bit.

Things had became a bit dull for Alex when Penelope arrived, and by way of greeting, she said to him, "Good day, Alexander. I trust you are doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances." "Yeah, I'm doing pretty good, all things considered," Alex replied pleasantly, with much of his good mood coming from the pain medication, which was working fairly well at the moment. Penelope's arrival was another of the obligatory visit from a prominent member of the student body, but even she had an ulterior motive for seeing him. "Do you remember the other day when you told me that you had seen my brother talking to Brandy?" Penelope inquired, "Well, I spoke to my brother about it, and he informed me that he had been nowhere near Brandy at the time in question." "Ah. I must have been mistaken then," Alex replied, knowing full well that he had made up the whole thing. Penelope gave him a calculating look and stated, "No, you don't make mistakes like that, and I'm certain that you did it on purpose. You should know that I don't appreciate being played like that. I don't know what's going on between you and Brandy, but if you will kindly leave me and my brother out of it, that will be great. Maybe if you would pay more attention to that wife of yours, you won't have the time to cause problems for others. Just a thought. Now then, I would like to give you my best wishes for a speedy recovery, and I hope that you have a good day. I'll see you in school... whenever." She then turned and left. "Have a good day!" Alex called after her, since there was nothing else for him to say, "It was nice talking to you!"

"Sure, I'll take care of Bo for you!" Debra said with an enthusiastic nod, and on a whim, she inquired, "Would you mind it if I messed around on your piano? My mother made me take piano lessons when I was much younger, and I want to see if I can remember any of it."

"Of course, feel free to play with any other instrument and you can even use my art kit and make a little art if you want," Sofia said with a chuckle as she parked the car and went in with Debra and Bo, feeding Bo then making lunch for herself and Debra which simply consisted of a yummy club sandwich with some lemon aid. After that, Sofia smiled and said, "I'll try to be back around 5 or 6, if anything happens just call me." With those final words she left the apartment and drove home though she made a pit stop at a cousins house since Sofia had to dress a bit more modern to stop her mother from nagging at her over and over about how she dressed.

"Thanks Linda," she said hugging her cousin before finally heading to the mansion. There, she got out and made her way inside, the butler and maids greeting her, happy to see her after quiet some time. They seemed to be the only ones that cared. She was then lead out on the patio where her mother sat drinking tea, her father playing tennis with some guy, probably some CEO of another company. Sitting down, her mother finally caught notice of her and didn't bother to say anything and so Sofia was forced to say, "Good afternoon..." Needless to say the conversation between the two was filled with heavy tension.

(OOC: Do you have anything planned? If not then I'll time skip to where she goes home and says bye to Debra and off to the next day)

"See you later!" Debra said as Sofia was leaving. Once Sofia had gone, curiosity got the best of Debra, and so she spent a few minutes snooping around in Alex's things, just in case there was something embarrassing that she could use against him somehow. Yes, it was rude of her to do so, but she made sure to put everything back just the way that she had found them. Bo seemed to be content to rest after his playtime in the park. Eventually Debra made her way up to the attic. While Sofia had given her permission to use the art kit, Debra chose to leave that for another time. After taking another look at the musical instruments, she sat down at the piano and began to play from memory. As she had told Sofia, she had taken lessons back when she had been much younger. Naturally enough, the tunes that she played were the very simple ones that a beginner student learned first, and it was kind of surprising that she could remember them so well after all of that time had gone by. As Debra played, she couldn't stop herself from thinking about her mother. Not about the way that her mother had died, though, but the happy times when Debra still had a family. In time she thought about something else that she used to play on the piano. It wasn't one of the tunes from her lessons. Instead, it was something that she had learned on her own, and one of the main reasons why she had taught herself that particular song was because it was the first in the book that she had learned it from. Debra remembered how proud of herself that she had been when she had been able to play it through without mistakes, even if it was only the melody. Her mother had been proud as well, and had praised her in their home and in public to the point that it had been almost embarrassing. Now that Debra was feeling very nostalgic, she tried to play that one as well, and did very poorly, as she did the second time, and the third time. As her mood shifted to frustration, she vowed that she would keep at it until she could play it correctly. When Sofia came home and looked for Debra in the attic, she would find Debra playing the piano and singing as she played:

The morning breaks, the shadows flee;
Lo Zion's standard is unfurled!
The dawning of a brighter day,
The dawning of a brighter day
Majestic risies on the world.

((OOC: I just gave you a clue about Debra's background.))

Sofia came in letting out a frustrated sigh, her head hurting from the sheer energy she had used to not rudely walk away while her mother spoke. Bo had fallen asleep and she could hear the piano being played and so she knew where to find Debra. Making her way up she made sure not to be too loud since she didn't want to disrupt her playing. Sofia stood by the stairs and waited until she was finished with the song. When Debra had finished Sofia made her way over, "That was really good, I'm amazed you remember playing after many years I'm guessing." She told her that she could come and play whenever she wanted while making her way down the stairs and of course she gave Debra a ride home. Things felt peaceful and she hoped it would stay that way, but of course that was asking for a lot. She really had no clue how upside down her life would become even more, but of course if she was a fortune teller she would be able to stop it from happening.

Once she was back home Sofia simply prepared the meat she would cook tomorrow to take to Alex, wanting it to marinate over night. After that and cleaning around the house a bit she went to bed. Her night was like any other night though it took her a bit longer to fall asleep. When she awoke early in the morning she couldn't help but feel groggy and for a moment she refused to get out of bed. Though, a cold shower had helped wake her up and she was up and about doing her daily chores, including feeding Bo. Once that was done, and once she finished another one of Alex's favorite meals she set off to the hospital. On the way there she did wonder if his popularity would dwindle and if it did would people stop bothering her? She didn't think it really would go down all that much. Though he was a star athlete, most of the girls liked him because of his looks.

At the hospital she made her way up to his room and peeked her head in to see if he was awake or not. Nonetheless whether he was or wasn't, she walked in and set the food on the small table.

Debra jumped when she heard Sofia's voice behind her. "Jeez, you startled me!" Debra gasped, and as soon as he heart rate had slowed to normal, she replied to Sofia's compliment by saying, "Oh, that was nothing, really. I was just messing around." Debra was a bit embarrassed that Sofia had caught her playing that particular thing, and she was relieved when Sofia didn't say anything more about it. Naturally enough, she accepted the ride home. Once Debra was there, her grandmother gave her the usual interrogation about where Debra had been and what she had done, although her grandmother seemed to be more curious than concerned. She had even gone so far as to say that it had been good for Debra to get out of the house for a while. Debra's grandmother seemed to think that because Debra had been with Sofia the entire time, Debra had not been causing trouble somewhere. Debra had to admit that her grandmother was right on both counts.

The next day was different. Debra's grandmother reasoned that if Debra was to go anywhere on a Sunday, it would be to church, and that was something that Debra refused to do. Debra waited in her bedroom until her grandmother had gone to church, and then she wandered about the house, fixed herself some lunch, ate in the living room while watching TV, both of which were no-nos, left the dirty dishes in the kitchen sink, and then went back to her bedroom before her grandmother got back from church. Just another typical Sunday.

Alex woke from a light doze and saw that Sofia had arrived. Unlike the previous day, she was the first to come to see him, and if he was guessing right, she would be his only visitor that day, aside from his parents. "Good morning!" he said cheerfully, and after glancing at the clock, he added, "It is still morning, right?" When he saw what she had put on his tray, he smiled and asked with delight, "You brought me lunch again? That's great! The food that you brought yesterday was just what I needed!" Alex decided that he was going to keep her informed of his current status regardless of whether or not she was interested, and so as he began to help himself to the lunch that she had brought, he said to her, "The doctor said that I'll probably be released later this afternoon. The corrective surgery has been scheduled, but it's not going to be for a few days, and there's really nothing that they can do for me in the mean time, and there's no point in keeping me here and running up the medical bill. I should be able to get around well enough with the leg brace and crutches that they're giving me. Oh, and the doctor said that he would like to discuss a couple things with you before I check out."

Alex's cheerful tone still surprised Sofia but she did respect him more for it because typically someone in his state would be depressed or angry. It seemed like he was taking all of this rather well compared to how others might have taken it. When he spoke about how he was doing Sofia had sat down to listen and did not speak, letting him talk since he's probably been hearing most people talk to him about some nonsense. She finally said, "I see, well I suppose I can see the doctor now if he isn't busy, I need to go buy somethings before you check out." Sofia was sitting with her back straight and her hands folded on her lap. She was the daughter of a rich couple after all so of course she would have proper etiquette. With nothing much to say she stood up and told him to have a good morning before heading off to the doctors office to see if it was okay to discuss things now.

As it turned out, the doctor was in the office, and he did have the time to discuss things with Sofia. In fact, he was glad that she was there now, since he might not have the time later. The main thing that he wished to discuss was about the ways that Sofia would need to assist Alex now that Alex's mobility was severely reduced, such as assisting him in the shower as needed. Of course the doctor was assuming that Alex and Sofia were exactly like every other newlywed couple, and so he didn't think that the things that Sofia would be required to do would be of any difficulty. He also touched on the need for Sofia to help build up Alex's spirits and to help him to keep a positive outlook on life. It was true that Alex was in a good mood now, but his pain medication was probably responsible for that, at least in part. "That brings me to one of the more important things that you can do for your husband, Mrs. King," the doctor stated, "Although he might not be too appreciative at times. What I would like you to do is closely monitor the pain pills that are being prescribed for him. Pain medication can be highly addictive, and the signs of abuse aren't quite as obvious as with other drugs. Of course drugs like Percocet do have side effects. For instance, a while back I was treating a young woman who had suffered a major knee injury, and I had found it necessary to cut back on her Percocet dosage when she reported seeing dandelions growing in the exam room floor. The information sheet that is included with the prescription will tell you everything that you need to know about the medications that Alex is taking. Now then, do you have any questions?"
