Chris saw Lucifer grab Kru and vanish, and he decided that was enough. Grabbing his sword, he turned to Gren and said "Now?"

"Seems like nows as good of a time as any!"

-still a little shocked he shook off his fear and his fingertips started turning pale-

"Waiting on your mark Gren"

Finishing loading his gun with holy water rounds, he grinned darkly. "Lets go."

-Without hesitation Aris burst out the door-

"Bout time I got to see you fight Gren."

-he winked to him before turning back to a very serious face. His mood changed almost instantaneously. Like switching on a light in a house-

Kageko had just entered the clearing that the inn was located in when she saw a succession of its visitors run out the door, one of who seemed to be carrying the other and was leading the group. Curious as to what was happening, which was natural seeing as all of their auras seemed menacing in one way or another, Kageko decided to follow the group quietly, trying to stay downwind to keep her scent as well hidden as her body.

Azana walked into the Inn, carrying a small cardboard box. She had been confused the night before by the sudden desertion of the Inn...she and Sol had simply gone upstairs to check on Tyler and his work. Five, maybe ten minutes at the most...and everyone was gone.

Lucifer had left, so it wouldn't have been out of the question that Chris and Gren followed, but what about Kru and Aris? Had Lucifer caused more trouble, picked another fight? She shook her head, taking a seat at one of the tables. Wherever they had run off to, those guys probably had the situation under control.

Sosol walked out from the kitchen, smiling at the sight of the cardboard box as he set down the morning's pot of tea. "Finally brought them, did you...?"
"Yeah...they haven't returned yet, have they?"
"No...I'm starting to worry about them, but we know better than to run around picking fights like that; they need someone back here to provide support."
"True...I just hope they're alright...if I hadn't been upstairs..."
"We were both up there, and I'm not sure how much we would have contributed," he said, sliding the mug her way. "Trust me, we'll be there for them when it really counts...you don't have to involve yourself in every battle."
"...You're right. Thanks, Sol."
"It's what I'm here for."

Zulma had stayed in bed late, her mind filled with happiness at the memories of what had just happened. She was smiling to herself. She had also realized that if Baldur's human form was created by Angeles, then this was a first time for him. She understood why his movements were so gentle. She smiled, she would not rush him. They would learn to be together.

A shadow passed on her face. There was a question she had to ask him. She feared the answer, yet if they loved each other, then whatever his answer would be, she would accept it and they would find a way to be happy.

The woman prepared herself for her day and headed to the main room which felt strangely empty. She frowned. Had something happened? She was so tired on the previous evening that she had barely looked around when Baldur had brought her back to the Inn and put her in bed.

She fixed herself something to eat, looking around a little puzzled.

James backed up through the door, lugging a suitcase not entirely unlike the one Tyler had a few days prior. His sandy bangs hid his green eyes, but the smile on his face gave it all away. Once it was a safe distance from the door, he let it stand, breathing a small sigh of relief.

Wait'll that has-been gets a load of all this...!

Azana jumped from her seat, running forward and greeting James with an enthusiastic hug. "Tech! Good to see ya again!"

Sosol chuckled and waved from the bar, always happy to see that smile on Azana's face. It was one that very few people could coax out of her so easily...and James just happened to be one of them.

James still smiled, though he winced slightly at Azana's tight embrace. "Hey there, Az. I've got some presents for you and your friends...where is everyone, anyway?"

"Other than not here, I don't know," she answered, gazing out the window. "I was sure they were just taking care of something, but I'm starting to worry..."

"Not really like you to worry over capable people," Tyler commented, yawning as he walked downstairs. His sleep schedule had been completely thrown off by the tasks he had taken on, but at the sight of James he immediately masked his fatigue.

"So, did you get everything done, Taylor?"

"Hardly even broke a sweat," he lied, his smile sharpening, "though it looks like you're kind of tired. Getting old on me, Hunter?"
"You wish...since we're all here, why don't we start comparing notes, hm?"

------------------------------------------

Azana was glad that Zulma nor Shadow appeared to be present in the main room, because their table had been turned into what almost resembled a role-playing map. Having a pair of total geeks for colleagues at least helped in that way; assembling scenarios was second nature to them.

"Okay, I think we have a full list of everyone involved. This seems a lot like overkill, so many people..."

"It seems that way, but remember how many came the first time and how many actually ended up inside. Those summons are going to be a handful." He had placed various miniatures along the pass, only able to guess at the numbers they would actually be facing. "We have to assume she'll go all out against us."

If it's going to work...I'm going to have to make sure of it, Sosol thought momentarily to himself before looking over the drawn map and the miniatures James had picked out for everyone. "So you're basically saying that about half of us are going to be keeping the path open...I'm not sure everyone's going to agree to that."

"It's a matter of logic," Tyler said with a shrug, an odd moment of accord with James. "We need enough numbers to get to our target, but we're going to lose people along the way. It's just how these things work. Priorities need to be established."

"Basically, there is a small cell of people who absolutely need to be inside for our success. Everyone else needs to be ready to keep the summons at bay," Azana summarized with a nod. Seeing everything like this, from afar, made the whole idea a little easier to swallow...but this seemed to be so complex, something only the geniuses could have seen and assembled.

Sosol watched the other three after his input, looking down at the forward group. Gren and Eli were among them, but there was debate as to who else was necessary. He was hoping he and Azana would be on that list, but then again, plans this grand never survived first contact.

This is going to get chaotic...but whatever happens, I have to make sure I'm there to see it through.

The quartet looked up from their model to Jake. Azana and Sosol shook their heads in a worried unison.

"I haven't seen anyone except a short visit from Zulma since last night," Azana answered with a sigh, sipping at her drink. "They went out in a hurry, though..."

((Be back on in about an hour...gotta go home from class.))

------------------------------------------

((Edit @ 9 am, keeping the same day for continuity's sake.))

After another hour or so of discussing everything, a difficult task considering none of the others were there to provide feedback, Azana stood from the table. She was both frustrated from being relatively unable to help the planning and concerned that the others still hadn't returned yet. Maybe things were worse than she had originally thought.

Sosol watched her, his brows furrowing slightly as she was going against what they had agreed to earlier. "Going somewhere, Az?"
"Sol, they're still not back...they don't take this long." She turned back to face him, the concern written all over her face. "Please..."
Sosol sighed in defeat, trying to focus on Chris and Gren, the easiest signatures for him to hone in on. "There's some noise...they must be on the Plains." After a moment, he opened his eyes and stood up as well, his jacket flying off the hook into his waiting hand. "Gren's signature is lower than usual..."
Azana swore under her breath, grabbing her broom from the corner. She knew better than to ignore her intuition...she should have been there...! "Tyler, Tech...you might want to get the med supplies ready, just in case..."

The genius pair nodded, leaving the map alone as the walked toward the medical room, seeing what was still left from the last bout. Azana and Sosol, on the other hand, left the Inn through the front door and began their flight toward the Plains of Torment.

"Right!" MacPere barked as he entered the inn, a group of suited men in sunglasses following behind. "Our situation here is dire and I expect you all to be at your best. Two have been kidnapped by the woman, a previous friend of mine, and is stowing them away at her manor. Our job is to find and rescue them, blow the place to heck and get out." He stopped as he came to the room's centre, sharply turning back around to look over the troop. "An almost infinite amount of vampires against our number, not chickening out, are we?"

"No sir!"

"Good..."

Tyler emerged from the medical room with an armful of supplies. Much to his surprise, he found himself faced with MacPere himself, followed by what appeared to be a private force of his own.

"...well...this was unexpected..."

"What was unex--oh..." James stood next to him, surveying the situation. "MacPere...I wish I could say I was surprised by this."

Turning around to face Tyler and James with a smile, he nodded to them both. "Mr. Hunter, Mr. Taylor..." His brow rose to the statement, curious. "'Wish you could say you were surprised'...? Care to elaborate?"

Hearing his phone beep to indicate a new text, he whipped out the device and opened the message, brow wrinkled as he text back.

'Are you alright? Should I come for you?'

James chuckled slightly. "Well, besides being briefed on the whole situation and being charged with building some very difficult tech on short notice...? We've been considering a plan of attack all morning." He gestured over to the drawn map before adding sheepishly.

"Erm, ignore the choice of miniatures..."

"On the other hand, I've actually been here for the most recent developments. Knightsoul and I have been working on things as well, and Remy, at least until recently, was communicating with me via text message. No idea how he got my number..."
