First of all, just because we live in close quarters doesn't mean people have to spread rumors about everyone else. You remember how I feel about that. According to the Rumor Mill, I have not only dated, but *yeah* at least six guys since I got here (Hell no!). Many of the females seem to take pride in the fact that they are sleeping around on their husband or boyfriend. At least the males understand my reasons for them to back off. That is, they prefer to stay males.

On another note, don't worry. I'll be good. Maybe. twisted

I thought that sex was off-limits in the military anyway. sweatdrop It would be kind of bad if soldiers came up pregnant or with STD's.

The 'no sex' thing is to help keep objectivity. Basically, know your chain of command, and don't do anyone in your chain. And if you're going to make the love, be sure to use the glove.

Personally, I would rather get involved with another soldier, because fellow service members are really the only ones that truly understand the mindset.

As for your last concerns, we did have a female sent home because she got pregnant just before we left. No one was quite sure who the father was.

On a lighter note, another soldier was looking over my shoulder at the first pics I recieved of my baby niece, and the conversation went something like this:

Him: Wow, she's cute. How old is she?
Me: These pics were taken when she was two days old, and she's four days now.
Him: Cool. Is she yours?
Me: ... Yeah she's mine. I've been walking around here for about a month and a half while I'm eight months pregnant, and the Army is sending me into combat four days after giving birth.
Him: I guess that was a dumb question, huh?

I haven't really felt like posting lately. There was an accident at work, and one of the guys was killed. We held the memorial service Monday. When Top began the roll call and called his name, and there was no answer, I broke. It took me hours to stop crying. Like many others, I saw him as a little brother.

A large steel gate built to hold against impact from a fully-loaded tanker truck fell on him. He was only 19. The first soldier I ever met that smiled as much as I do.

I went to a job fair today and I couldn't find anything for a person with a B.A. in English in the area. xp
