"Walk in like you own the place. It never fails. Hello, everyone." Noting the indisposed Angeles, he slightly chuckled. However, he became solemn again when he spotted Gren. "Hi, Gren. Before we convene with Round Two, can I get some coffee? I'm afraid I won't be up for a shouting match until I have my daily dose of caffeine."

He gave Knight a flat look. Now they were both here... "Yeah, sure...but I don't yell when I'm mad, so you don't have to worry about that..."
(Actually, I have to go in about 30 minutes...so take as long as you need on that coffee break, unless we can sew this up quick. I don't have much to say, anyhow. sweatdrop )

"We call it 'social engineering'...why do you think I carry around that labcoat anymore?" As Chris walked in, fully expecting a shouting match, Tyler figured that was as good of a time as any to get to work updating the required databases with Gren's information.
And for my next trick, I'll pull a rabbit out of a hat...
Sosol nodded to Chris, immediately heading back toward the kitchen to start a pot of coffee. With Eli not around, it had quickly taken over as the drink of choice, even though he personally couldn't stand the stuff.

"I know you were. I'm not blaming you for that, or even for his...his coma. What I'm mad about is that you decked him while in full gear while he was already wounded. He's a normal guy. We can't take that kind of blow when we're perfectly fine, let alone after a fight."
He leaned against the bar, giving Knight a steely look. "You knew a bullet to the head wasn't going to kill her. You have to stake through the heart and decapitate. Nothing less. But knowing that, you decked him for shooting her. Then he hit his head, then fell into a coma. I got mad because you hit him, and immediately you were shifting blame. I know that Angeles caused a lot of the problems here, and believe me, I'll read her her own riot act. But don't you ever try to tell me it wasn't your fault that you hit the love of my life."

Azana was coming downstairs when she heard Gren's "serious" voice...it wasn't a very common one, well, not until recently, but she knew whoever was on the receiving end was in some trouble. As she touched down on the main floor, she realized that he was finally getting out his problems with Chris and simply took a spot at the table with Tyler.
"Gren's already told you the plan, huh?" She asked, resting her head on her hand.
"Yep...it's been a while since I've had to fake this much background information, though. That degree...I'm going to have to say he got a full-ride scholarship or they'll start wondering where the money went..."
"Oh, that's wonder--wait, what?"

"You're right, Gren. I am to blame for that, and I do sincerely apologize. I hope Eli is okay and that he'll make a full recovery. Right now, however, my main concern is her. Especially since she has decided I'm to blame for her current condition and has taken to threatening my team."

Sosol walked out from the kitchen, carrying a fresh pot of coffee and a couple of mugs. If he remembered, Gren was rather fond of coffee, as well...
"Caffeine break...?" He asked hesitantly, not wanting to be caught in any more crossfires.
"Gren's needing a full background generated for him...kinda picky about it, too," Tyler explained, flipping the DS around to display his chicken-scratch notes. "Between the paparazzi and Eleanora..."
Azana looked over it. "Oh, yeah...I keep forgetting he's not from around here..."
"That's actually a big help for me...I can only give him the script. It's up to him to play the part." Tyler continued to hack, carrying on the entire conversation without lifting his eyes from the screen.

"Well, right now, she can't do squat about it, so don't worry...Damien and I have a bit of something in mind. Anyway, it's...it's all right. thanks for that." he sighed, extending a hand for a shake. "After this, I've gotta go fetch a sunstone."

Chris shook the musician's hand, pleased to have cleared the air between them. He had a great fondness for both him and Eli. The last thing he wanted was any bad blood between them and him. Now he just needed to figure out how to deal with Angeles. A problem for another time, he told himself.
He took his mug back to his usual table. Settling in, comfortably, he removed TEKKER from his wrist and began to tinker. He toyed with the notion of removing the subroutines for Crimson Red, as it was much more volatile in his current surroundings. Clearly, Gaia was a much different world than Victory City.

Returning from beneath the cloak with the teleporter, sunstone triumphantly in hand, gren reappeared some time late at the bar. "My end's done..." he grinned, stuffing the stone into his pocket.
He looked up hopefully at the coffee. "Any of that for me?"

There was a soft groan from where Angeles was lying as her brain finally healed enough for her to function. She used the chair then the table to assist in helping her stand and began waiting for her vision to return.

Chris gave a wave to Gren as he entered then returned to his tinkering, pausing only a moment when Angeles came to. He thought about another snarky comment, but let it pass. If things were going to get back to any sense of normalcy around here, he and Angeles were going to have to learn to get along or, at the very least, tolerate each other. No sarcastic comments from him or thinly veiled threats from her were going to help accomplish that. We're both wounded in our own ways. No point throwing salt on those wounds. He simply shook his head and returned to his tinkering.
