Kageko retreated back to the wall opposite of the corner that Angeles was sitting at and sat on top of the closest table, her legs dangling in the air as she waited to see what would happen next.

Stella closed her eyes, rubbing her temples lightly to try and stave off the headache that was building. She had been working on the proper combination of binding spells, and between the incessant research and her own stresses with the GMO and the current situation...

I can't fall behind the others...I think I've almost got it.

James' eyes narrowed, working on the actual structure of the necklace itself. He wasn't much of an artist, and while he was trying his best to make it look decent...making sure it wasn't easily broken, even by a vampire, was the top priority.

Tyler had finished a final run-through of the interweaving program he and Chris had devised, giving a nod of approval. "Not bad at all, Chris...elegant, efficient...this should do it."

Tyler gave a firm nod to Gren's question. "The program Chris and I came up with should be compatible to Taylor's tech, the natural properties of that stone of yours, and whatever bindings Stella is finishing up over there."

Stella stopped her little break at mention of her name, giving a slightly dejected sigh as she returned to flipping through a few pages in one of the texts, studying them intently.

She better not call me for a week after this...!

Sosol kept track of things from the bar, hoping he'd get a chance to talk to Stella before she vanished back into her office...

Not knowing what else to do, Kageko decided to see what the GMO group was doing. Quickly passing over Tyler after seeing that he was doing something with technology, Kageko eventually settled with looking over and reading a bit of Stella's books.

"A second setting sounds pretty easy..." he mused, watching the proceedings before shuffling up the stairs. Rest. He needed rest. He had to try.

The next day, Chris awoke to find himself, once more, on the roof. That could only mean one thing. Nathan. Carefully turning to the side, the firebird had indeed returned and was sleeping on the roof not five feet away. Chris gulped and backed away slowly.

Unfortunately, the gulp was enough to rouse the bird from his sleep and events unfolded in familiar sequence. The bird looked down, freaked out, and they both fell off the roof with Nate on top. Chris drummed his fingers against the ground and said "Of all the birds in all the galaxy, I had to make friends with the one who's afraid of heights."

Nate screeched an apology and picked himself up off of Chris, the hero following as the pair dusted themselves off. "How do we keep ending up there, anyway?" Nate just shrugged.

"Of course, you don't know. Does anyone in the cosmos know how a superhero who doesn't fly and a firebird who's afraid of heights go to sleep in a room and wake up on the roof only to fall back to the Earth come daylight?"

Nate stared at him, blinking, then turned to head inside, squawking at Chris to follow him. Chris stood there for a moment, fuming, before he gave in and followed. "Fine. But you can get your own drinks."
