"Thank you, Gren," Stella said, accepting the plate and putting her notes aside. "I'm sure they're worth the wait..."
"It shouldn't be necessary, Remy...I'm just testing to see if the program is compatible. We haven't installed the two stones or any binding protocols. Once we do, though...keeping a bit of distance from this thing would be a good idea." He looked over to Angeles, hoping in some corner of his mind that this would turn out similarly to his own trials. After all, she had a much better reputation than he did...and she was the one getting the collar.
"You doubt my hardware, Hunter? Do you have any idea how many different programmers I've worked with? Universal compatibility is almost a prerequisite anymore..." James folded his arms with a proud smirk, though he was forced to drop the posture when the turnovers came around.
Sosol watched as Zulma immediately made her way to Gren. With a nod, he made his way to Azana. There's still a lot of instability to sort out... he thought quietly, greeting the operative with a kiss. "Did I miss anything?"
"Hunter and Taylor are ready to test the technology part of it. Stella's got writer's block, and I'm starting to get antsy," she answered. "Normally, I'd be running, but somehow I think this one won't explode."

He gave her a squeeze before lightening his grip a bit. "It's okay...I'm just glad you didn't get hurt or anything. It's been a rough few days, but...I do have some good news." He smiled weakly, shyly holding up his hand to show a silver ring with a wine-colored garnet.
Remy nodded. "I should think so...how're you gonna test it?"

Zulma looked at the ring with wonder.
"Gren...is it what I think it is?" she took his hand and look at the stone with amazement.
"This is beautiful. I am so happ-..." but her voice broke into a sob and she wrapped her arms around the man, letting her tears run across her cheeks.
"I am so sorry."

Chris heard that they were ready for testing and stood by, ready to help if needed. Nate heard the word 'explode' and promptly freaked out, seeking cover behind the bar.

He slumped slightly in the hug, mask breaking slightly at her tears. She was sorry? Those words, though said in sympathy, were the only apology he could ever hope to get. He squeezed her, sighing with a slight shudder in his breath. After a time, he murmured, barely above a whisper, "...what am I gonna do?"

"No errors so far..." Tyler muttered, watching the program transfer over. "It looks like it's compatible...but does it run?"
"We're going to need to insert the stones to check that...it doesn't have enough power without 'em." James lowered his goggles, making his eyes look huge in comparison to his face, and began placing the two stones. He felt the warmth of the sunstone even through his glove, while the void stone somehow was chilly.
Azana came closer to the genius pair, intrigued by the careful movements. "I never thought of you as a jeweler, Tech..."
"Well, I've made stuff for you...I do have some experience with it..."
Stella watched as she ate her turnover. Maybe the relic itself would give her the inspiration needed...

Zulma dried her tears but did not fully pulled away from Gren.
"Let's get some air." she gently took his arm and pulled him outside. They sat outside the Inn against its wall.
"Eli will be fine. I am sure he will come back, for you." she was burning to ask what happened but she could only wrap her arms around his shoulder and held him tight. Was she comforting him and was he comforting her?
"We will find something. I am sure of it."

He sighed, leaning his head against his shoulder. "That's if we're lucky enough that he wakes up...but...but what if he doesn't...what if there's damage? Or he forgets me, or has some kind of personality overhaul, or...what if he hates me? And besides that, how am I supposed to tell his mother? Should I even bother making plans for a wedding, or just resign myself to waiting forever? For him I would, but..."
His voice petered out, and he rubbed his eyes with a hand. "I'm sorry. I worry too much. You don't need to hear all of this." he groaned.

Azana shook her head. "I've had it used on me before...it seems to require direct contact to start the drain."
"Of course, I thought to separate their sockets...why on Earth would I let two opposing powers touch?" James looked over at Chris, wondering if the hero really had any faith in them. "Still, we can start with only one...just to test the program."
"I am not putting this on you," Tyler growled, glaring at the young vampire before returning his attention to the computer. "Let me know when we're ready to test."
Sosol watched Gren and Zulma leave, giving a small sigh. He simply couldn't help as much as their history and friendship...
I just need to do what I can, I guess...which means...
"Az? I'm going to head out for a bit..."

"Gren, you are my friend. So is Eli. You both are very important people to me. If you cannot talk to me, then I would truly be useless. Cry if you need to..." she added after a pause.
"I understand...I do not know how I would feel if Baldur..." she stopped her sentence and sighed.
"Eli will be fine. Think about it as...a rest...to be ready for the wedding. With someone like you, he'd better be ready with all his energy for the wedding night!" she teased him, trying to cheer him up.
"Everything will be fine." she added with a more serious voice, kissing his cheek. "You'll have to be patient and there is not much we can do for the moment." she paused.
"Did you decide on a date?" she asked suddendly.

He smiled gently, calmed slightly. Some of the darker notions that had lurked about in his mind sank back into the murk of the past. If she believed it, then surely...
'There is nothing to believe in.'
He shook his head slightly. He'd face that demon when it came.
He chuckled warmly at her joke, sighing to relax. "I think I'm the one who's gonna need the rest...a weekend away, he was practically in heat...who knows after this."
He blinked curiously at the question. "No, I haven't...he only proposed about three nights ago, right before he went off the the fray."
Remy started slightly at Tyler's snap. "Just trying to help...it's not dangerous, is it?"

Tyler adjusted his glasses, closing his eyes momentarily to regain his composure. "It shouldn't be...but we're still testing. I'm not going to use a live guinea pig for that."
It would be interesting to see...no! That's Remy you're talking about!
"Alright...sunstone's in place. Let's run the protocol." James said, glancing up at Tyler before shuddering slightly. He was getting that look in his eye again...
"Hm? Oh! Alright...running in three...two...one."
Azana folded her arms, ready for the show.
