"He's got a point...is it plugged in properly?" Tyler taunted, a smirk across his face.
"Of course it is! Your program must be wrong!"
"Chris double-checked it...it should be working."
"Look you two! All we have to do is check out each--" As Azana touched the necklace to get a closer look, she felt a sudden shift in her energy.
"I've got a reading now!" He announced.
"Of course...we couldn't test it without an energy source..." James pieced it together before realizing what it meant. "Tyler, turn that thing off!"
"Roger!" He answered, stopping the program.
Azana stumbled backwards, finding a chair and sitting before she fell completely over. "Whoa...you...might wanna turn that down..."

"Yeah, she's gone to bed..." he said, nodding in the general direction of the rooms. He knew that'd perk him up. "She won't mind if you wake her. Go on." he smiled.
Remy nodded. "Oh, okay...cause there was nothing to, right! Azana, are you okay?"

"Y-yeah..." Azana replied. "Just...wasn't expecting that."
"I guess the spell will have to wait until tomorrow..." Stella said, shaking her head. "Wonderful..." She stood up, closing her notebook as she headed toward the stairs. "Goodnight, everyone..."
Tyler waved to Stella before tending to the necklace. "So...both at once?"
"Both at once!" James replied, placing the sunstone in its own little socket.

"G'night, Stella..." said Gren, checking his watch before pulling the teleporter out of his pocket. "If you'll all excuse me...I have a visit to make." he said with a wave, departing to his beloved's bedside.
"Wonder if he'll loan that to me sometime..."
(That's the most convenient thing I've ever had for a graceful exit. Thank you, Azana! Good night! biggrin )

"You'll get your turn," Tyler answered Remy with a smirk, watching James set the sunstone.
I really need a spare...but where am I going to get another GPS device...?
"Almost...ready..." James muttered, concentrating as he got ready to place the stone.
"Have fun, you two," Azana said, walking somewhat unsteadily to the stairs. "I'm going to need to rest...hope it's ready tomorrow..."

Kageko walked quietly into the inn, looking slightly burnt but not much worse for wear other than that. "So what's happening?" she asked as she came in, only to find the two techs working hard at their table. Figuring that she shouldn't bother them, Kageko slunk back outside and headed back home,

As the sun rose over the Inn, Chris woke up again on the roof, Nate by his side. Carefully, he got up and slipped down to the ground before looking back up and yelling "Hey, sleepyhead. Get down here. We're going fishing."
Nate roused himself and walked towards the sound of Chris's voice, not noticing he was on the roof until he promptly walked off of it. For a moment, he hung in the air until gravity took its hold and he plummeted to Earth, right on top of Chris.
"That's it. Tonight, before bed, I'm tying you to the floor. I'd like to wake up in my own bed for a change." He pulled himself out from underneath his friend, then hauled the firebird to his feet. "Now come on."
They went inside and quietly grabbed some gear and some food. On the way out, Chris left a note for the gang in case they got curious about his absence.
Hey gang,
Nate and I have decided to spend the day fishing so, barring any mishaps (fingers crossed), we'll be back by sunset with dinner in tow. Better order some take-out just to be on the safe side. Have fun testing the containment system and have a great day.

They quietly slipped out the door and immediately bolted off towards the lake, not to be seen again until dusk.

Zulma headed down. She had felt a presence during the night. She had called for Baldur but no one had answered so she had thought that she had dreamed.
She spotted a note on the counter from Chris and Nate saying that they were going fishing. She smiled.
She prepared some French bread with sugar and cinnamon for breakfast for those who needed something to eat. Soon the Inn was smelling sweet and homey.
She prepared a plate for her and sat in front of the fireplace although there was no fire.

After a midnight visit and a few hours of what might have sufficed for sleep, Gren drifted down the stairs with a weary yawn. He perked immediately at the scent of fresh bread, and helped himself happily while preparing tea for others and coffee for himself.

Baldur made his way down the stairs after Gren. He followed him almost like a shadow to the kitchen to get some bread, but got some water instead of waiting for tea. He walked out and caught Zulma sitting by the fire. He paused before looking down at his chest and hummed with a little disatisfaction before going back into the kitchen with Gren, "do you perchance have a shirt I might borrow?"

He looked up from preparing his coffee, and smiled kindly. "Sure, though I don't know how well it'd fit. But it's the second drawer down in my dresser, if you can find something that feels okay, go right ahead."

Baldur nodded and smiled in thanks before sneaking back out and up the stairs to Gren's room and went to the dresser, second drawer down. He hummed as he searched through a few shirts and finally settled on a black button up. He slipped it on, finding it to be very tight around his arms and torso but Baldur did not mind.
He buttoned it up enough to hide the scar on his chest and looked at himself in the mirror before nodding in approval and making his way back downstairs.

"I'm telling you, that was a really good workaround you came up with," Tyler said, arriving downstairs and looking behind him.
"It wouldn't have worked without your programming modifications," James replied, following close behind with the containment necklace in hand. "Dude, I didn't even know some of what you pulled was feasible."
"Why not? It's just a permutation of a relatively common pattern...I'm smelling cinnamon again..." Tyler finally turned his attention to the others. "Morning...or is it afternoon? I've completely lost track."

Zulma was so lost in her thoughts...or was she half asleep. She heard footsteps and voices.
"Hey!" she exclaimed.
A familiar silhouette was in the stairs. She stood at once.
"Baldur?" she murmured.

Baldur looked up as his name came up in a question, then he smiled at Zulma in a gentle way before descending the rest of the way down the stairs and making his way over to her, "hello Zulma."
