Remy blinked, breathed a bit heavily in resolution. "Sosol, please prepare a drink of anything for this man." he said simply, leading Emily back to the beads. "They've got grown-up talk to do..."

Gren wondered what the ruckus was, having reappeared in his room, but was content to stay for a few minutes to calm down.

Azana watched the man carefully, noting Angeles' apparent intimidation. Whoever this was...you definitely didn't want to be on his bad side. "I doubt you need to be told, but you can't fight in here, and she is not permitted to leave. Answers are all you're going to get."

Sosol made his way to the bar, keeping his distance from the man. Hadn't Angeles been through enough without having a rather powerful hunter staring her down? Azana's defense seemed surprising, but it was nothing less than the truth.

At Remy's request, he nodded and got to work, hoping things wouldn't get too explosive.

D shook his head, gently declining the drink but saying nothing about it, only watched Angeles carefully as she, step by step, descended the stairs.

"I am aware of the conditions of this place," said D to the woman, "all has been made known to me by the king."

"Are you hunting me?" growled Angeles and D shook his head. She slowly, cautiously, slipped the deathwhisper back into her boot, "pay attention Remy," she said in a breathless voice, "that is our future."

"Where would you like to speak?" asked D flatly. Angeles looked around, noticing that her breathing increased and stopped her breathing altogether, but a while later she was forced to take a breath due to the collar, not because she needed to breath, but because it hurt.

She didn't want to be alone with the vampire hunter, but she didn't want to speak to him out in the open either, "wherever," she murmured, not looking him in the eye but not taking her eyes from him.

Slowly he held out his left hand and held it out as if pressing it against a wall, holding it out to Angeles for a second before dropping his hand. She cleared her throat uneasily before craning her neck and touching the two stones of the collar. A silent question answered silently.

"Your choice," said the hunter and Angeles sighed, taking a step backwards towards the stairs, not wishing to turn her back.

Remy watched carefully. Granted, he had no idea what had transpired, but at least they weren't wrecking the place, and had come to consensus.

Silence made Gren suspicious. He calmly walked to the top of the stairs to observe.

D advanced calmly as Angeles walked back towards the stairs, resting a hand on the railing as they arrived at the stairs. D then paused briefly to look up under the brim of his hat to look at Gren. A slight bit of curiosity entered his eyes, but otherwise his expression didn't change.

Angeles froze but did not turn around, feeling trapped between the two men. D lowered his gaze wondering why Angeles was no longer moving and looked up at the human again. This was definitely not a new experience for him since he came to this time and place, vampires and humans coexisted peacefully. But it was something he was sure he was never going to get used to.

There seemed to be a snicker from D's left hand and he clenched it slightly as if telling it to be quiet.

Gren blinked. This was new. Angeles being apprehensive of nearly anything wasn't a normal idea to him, especially by someone new.

He looked curiously at the new fellow. Painfully handsome, well, that's a good start. All in black, nice necklace, and such a presence, well, that explained her reaction. Still, all he was doing was standing. Vicious had twice the malice.

"Did I...come at a bad time?"
he offered, politely confused.

Rem,y looked about. Who'd snicker at a time like this?

"No," answered Angeles in a low tone of voice, using all of her will to keep from stuttering. Of anyone, she did not want show fear in front of Gren, but she also didn't want to turn her back on D. She tilted her head down breifly before looking up at D into his eyes and saw something shift in them as she swallowed her fear and put her pride forward.

"What are your questions?" she asked.

D looked back up at the raven-haired man at the top of the stairs before looking at Angeles and began asking questions in succession with a definite business tone, "the king has gotten only a portion of the account of your recent activities. I need to know the rest, beginning at the start, your reasons why, and your present apparent imprisonment here."

Angeles blinked, the entire story, she definitely wanted to go to the room for this one.

Sosol had just finished the drink when Angeles and the stranger headed for the stairs. He shook his head, looking to Remy and gesturing to the glass in offering. It shouldn't have to go to waste...

Azana watched the pair head for the stairs and took a seat, in no real hurry to involve herself in this business. She already had enough on her plate...she hadn't heard from Tyler in a few days, though that wasn't much of anything new. Stacy was keeping an eye on him...they'd be alright.

Gren blinked again, intrigued. Another vampire? He must've been something special to have her in this bind. However, this was something he wanted to hear himself. "Good luck, man..." he said dryly.

Remy nodded thankfully, getting the drink from Sosol. "What is this?" he whispered.

"You would get the same answer as everyone else," began Angeles and continued, "A woman came in threatening to blackmail a dear friend of mine. Rage took over and in a split second I decided that I was tired of all the thing happening to the people around me. I bit her and dragged her to the Valentine manor. I would make an example of myself and hinder any further negative actions against the people I cared about."

She inhaled and eyed D's left hand, "a group came and retrieved the woman and immediately the plans began to be set into motion. i needed an insider, one that could not be easily broken. I chose a telepath of a high caliber, one that could not easily be read. His mind alone was completely safe from any scrutiny.

"The insider did as I had asked, stirring the emotions of the people here against me, myself aiding in fueling the hatred with a few acts here and there. When all was prepared... my husband decided to take actions into his own hands and was swiftly killed. The decision was somehow reached that that night would be their night to attack.

"I stalled them using summons, but eventually they plowed their way inside. I isolated the son of the woman to attack me directly, selecting him to deliver the finishing blow as would be in accordance to righteous vengeance. Unfortunately it seems no one in here know how to kill me properly," the last part she growled slightly before adding in a whisper, "except you."

D listened without moving before blinking, "you're hiding something."

Your favorite, he replied mentally, watching Angeles vanish from view with the hunter. He rested against the bar, concerned for her but unable to do anything at that point.

Azana waved a hand quietly, sending a drink order his way to distract him from the matter at hand. She knew he cared about Angeles still, despite all that had happened...but this was her story to tell and her business.

Gren huffed, brow furrowed. This stranger seemed to know better...and that was a good thing.

Remy sipped the drink cautiously. 'Thank you, Sosol.'

Sosol nodded to Remy, sending a drink to Azana before taking to cleaning in more attempts to distract himself. Nothing would happen in the Inn, he was sure...but Angeles wouldn't stay there forever.

Azana gave a grin, raising the glass before taking a sip. She was just as concerned, but unlike her fiance had had plenty of practice in covering such things.

Angeles' eyes widened slightly at D's statement and took a step backwards up the stairs before his aura froze her in place. He lifted his left hand again to press to her forehead but she forced her arm to move and grabbed his wrist, forcing the hand away from her, breathing heavily and shakily again, staring horrified into his eyes though her brow was furrowed.

"Acting a bit guilty," said the disembodied voice and Angeles glowered and murmured, "I'm protecting someone else's memories."

D did not move but a looseness in the muscles of his arm allowed Angeles to let go and the hunter turned, "very well, I will return in the morning," he said and strode calmly to the door, seemingly uncaring about the people around him before slipping past it like a shadow.

Angeles stopped her breathing again before turning and walking up the stairs, "move," she ordered Gren leaving no room for argument as she pushed past him and to her room, shutting her door and locking it behind her.

((Internet's bugging and I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open. I should be on in the morning, not sure you all will be though.))

Getting nudged aside, he frowned and made the rest of the way downstairs. The stranger left, and Gren sighed, taking a seat at the bar. "Sosol, Azana...is it unreasonable of me to not want to completely forgive her until Eli wakes up?" he murmured as Emily scampered over, showing her mancala beads.

(I doubt it, though I will be in the evening...national holiday means I have to do a lot of work. :/ Hope to see you, though. )
