"I've already called Skuld," Sosol reported, pouring Max some cola. "She's coming up with an excuse to get out of the office..."
"You betcha~!" Max answered victoriously, grabbing the glass of cola and raising it high. "Of course, I had no doubts...marketing and PR is my forte. I made you sound so good, Bill Gates would be jealous!" She finally took a drink of the cola, though she definitely didn't need the caffeine at that point.
Azana arrived downstairs, her arms folded. "They said yes, then...place and time in the E-mail?"
"Yeah...it's in a few days, though I'm a bit surprised at the location...rather ritzy restaurant on the Isle de Gambino. Looks like we might have some big wigs..."

"Don't bother," Max replied, her eyes narrowing in an uncharacteristically serious gaze. "The meeting time is after the place is closed...you'll be the only customer."
"Is it just me, or does that scream 'trap'?" Azana asked, folding her arms. "I don't like it...especially if Remy's on his own."
"What choice do we have, though?" Sosol asked in the midst of sending Skuld a text about the dress code. "It's the only way we can get a positive ID, right? And they probably want their candidate alone..."

"I wouldn't hold it against you," Azana answered with a shrug. "Any advantage helps...as long as I get my turn with 'em, I don't care."
"Your turn? What d'you care about Ty?" She asked, remembering the update from a few days prior.
"It's not just--why do I need to tell you? Can't I just want to zap some people for causing so much trouble?"
"...you like him. You won't admit it, but you like him..." She teased, a hand on her hip.
"I'm engaged," she answered flatly, displaying her ring.
"I didn't mean like that...waddaya take me for?"

Sosol watched the argument, somewhat ambivalent to the conversation at hand. Azana had let go of her grudge for the most part, but she still treated Tyler differently than just about anyone else.
Even if it is antagonistic, you're still giving him some sort of privilege... He thought, looking over a response from Skuld.
Max pulled out a rather sophisticated smartphone, touching a few things on the screen and pulling up the E-mail. "Bella Luna...four star reviews, white tablecloths, supposedly beautiful architecture. Never could get anyone to take me there."
Azana looked at the phone. "How on Earth did you get one of those?" She asked, wondering if it was stolen, or modified, or otherwise like most things coming into the Inn appeared to be.
"You're kidding, right? Connections, Az...I beta-tested this model. They let me keep it when the full release happened."

Remy looked at the pictures, whistling. "I think I've eaten there maybe twice,for weddings. It's really good. Shoulda known anything that good had connections."

"Doesn't everything anymore?" Azana asked, tilting her head with a smirk toward the Neutral Ground declaration on the wall.
Tyler walked down the stairs, holding his glasses in one hand and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes with the other. "Hey, everyone..."
"About time you got down here! We've got a meeting!" Max said cheerfully, holding out the phone with the pictures.
Tyler put on his glasses to check out the photos. "Bella Luna...never heard of it."

"You still look tired," Sosol commented, looking around for something caffeinated and finally settling on another glass of cola.
"Just had some odd dreams," he answered, giving a wave back to Remy. "Good work with the meeting, Max. Sol, you and Skuld heading out soon?"
"Just told Skuld where we were going...she's hoping to pull a few strings and get us reservations."
"Oh, can I come?" She asked, her eyes pleading. "I've always wanted to check it out..."
"Isn't the whole point of this to send people they won't recognize?" Azana asked.

"You want to pay off your debt to me?" said Angeles looking at D.
"I already told you how I will be repaying my debt, Angeles," came the calm and somewhat cold response.
Angeles sighed and growled at the same time, "very well. I need a favor," she walked over to where D was sitting in her room, "I need you to go to the summer home of the Valentines and give Damian this," she handed him an envelope, "have him follow the instructions exactly, if possible, then return with the items he gives you."
D took it and looked at the blank side of the envelope, nothing was written on it, "this isn't some sort of ruse to get me to leave the inn is it?"
Angeles paused then looked serious and like she would smack herself and said quietly, "I didn't even think of that."
D stood up and put his hat back on, much to Angeles' relief as her mind was running a little wild with his hair completely free falling over his shoulders. He definitely looked like his father, but that was something she would never tell him.
"I'll return," said D and he stole silently out of the room, leaving Angeles to look at the already dead flowers that Emily had given to her.
D made his way down the stairs then past the congregation and then out the inn without a word, the door shutting behind him. He got up onto the back of his horse and took the reigns in his hand and turned the cyborg mount around and began galloping towards the northwest.

"OMG, for serious?!" She asked, her eyes lighting up as she dashed over to him and hugged him tightly. "You. Are. Awesome!"
Tyler chuckled and shook his head, taking a sip as he started to wake up. "Careful...she has a tendency to stick to people."
"Oh, hush, you." She said, sticking her tongue out at the inventor, her arms still around the young vampire.
Azana turned her attention to Sosol. "So, dinner out with the sister...I'm betting you're not just doing this for him?"
"Found me out already...it'll give me a chance to catch up with her. She's been so busy, between the job, her classes..." He smiled happily, knowing that the young oracle was finally starting to catch up with her years.
