Angeles looked up at Zulma, and recalled the story of her brother. Though she was not sure what variant of vampire Zulma's brother had been, Angeles knew that Zulma's words were true. If anyone in the inn could kill her, it was Zulma.
Angeles did not respond, but looked down at the ground again, curling one hand into a fist.

The two women locked eyes for a moment before Angeles looked away.
Zulma would kill to defend those dear to her and she would have killed Angeles to protect the others...but Zulma did not kill out of revenge, she could not even hate Angeles despite what happened.
The innkeeper looked at Angeles's fist.
"Is everything alright?" she asked softly but strangely there was no worry in her voice.

"I need to leave," was Angeles' response, "but i can't go anywhere with this collar, and the only one who can take it off is Knight, and he's missing."
"Serves you right," growled Baldur.

Zulma sat at the vampire's words.
"Why do you need to leave Angeles?" she questioned, taking note of the mention of the collar but not elaborating on it.
She had not noticed that Baldur was so closed and she turned a hint of a smile at him. He would never like Angeles.
Then she looked back at Angeles, waiting for her answer.

"My presence here is no longer needed, and is causing nothing but pain. Nothing will be the way it was," Angeles' eyes fell, "I should have just continued to wander."

Zulma did not answer right away.
There was some truth in Angeles's words and the innkeeper could not figure out what was the punishment the others thought inflicted upon her by forcing her to stay. On the contrary her presence was hurting everyone and preventing them from healing their wounds.
"I agree with you that nothing will be as it used to be." she seemed sad for a moment, shadows passing in her eyes.
"But I am grateful that you stopped wandering for a while and stayed here at the Inn." a smile passed on Zulma's lips at the memories of happy moments passed together.
"What is past is past...as for you leaving the Inn...I cannot allow you to, not without the approval of the others. I was not there, I...I was only remotely involved. As such this is their choice, not mine."

"They have little say in the matter either," murmured Angeles, her nails digging into her palm before she stood up and walked up the stairs as quietly as possible. She did not want Zulma to see her tears.
Baldur grumbled then moved to Zulma and rubbed his head against her shoulder to help calm himself down. He was still wearing the pendant, and was feeling what she was feeling.

Zefi realized Zulma was at the Inn again and so was Angeles. Feeling they were talking serious matters she climbed out the window. She didn't want to disrupt them, and she knew she would be tempted to listen in. She went around the place and headed to the lake, bringing some crackers from the storeroom, just in case she got hungry and didn't feel like heading back too soon.

Zulma sighed as Angeles left but she did not try to stop her.
Baldur's presence was a gift. She had forgotten about the pendants for Baldur was capable of filtering his thoughts and feelings while she was not.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing it and his cheeks, before giving his a deep kiss on the lips. She needed him more than anyone. She pressed herself against him and slowing her thoughts occupied by Angeles faded to be replaced by thoughts of him.

Baldur purred into her kiss, pleased as her thoughts turned away from the vampire and he held Zulma against him.

Zulma pulled the dark man to their favorite spot and sat. She looked tired.
With a smile, she looked at him.
"I spoke with Gren and MacPere. They accepted to help me officially with the Inn."

After a time, Gren slowly opened his eyes realizing blearily that he'd dozed off. He sat up, rubbing an eye, feeling refreshed. The room had cleared and quieted, and things were calm. He smiled, content, and fixed himself a gin and tonic. Life was good.
Taking his drink upstairs, he strolled over to MacPere's room, sneaking in to give the man a proper welcome home.

Hayabusa gathered his supplies, scythe, favorite clothes, Fenyx's magic ring, and was all set to leave. Only he wasn't leaving, an old friend was going to drop by the Inn after much debate with Hayabusa.

Entering the inn with a hum, MacPere strolled upstairs, awkwardly holding a bouquet of roses and a vase. Upon entry to his fiance's room, MacPere set down the vase and arranged the flowers best as he could, adding a little baby's breath her and there.
