Gren nodded. "Sounds good...give me a sec." he strolled back to his room, and returned a few minutes later, straightening his collar, saxophone case in hand. "Keeping him at bay for a little...he can get kinda rowdy." he explained with a smile.

He took a seat at the piano, thinking for a moment of a good song, settling on a peaceful one he knew.

Kageko eased herself into a chair and leaned forward onto its accompanying table, closing her eyes and letting her body relax as she waited for the music. Honestly, any kind of music seemed good to her at the moment.

Sosol gave a nod, deciding to pull out an old favorite. With a soft smile to Stacy, he disappeared back into the kitchen, setting a pot of water on the boil. I don't know if you ever got to try this...you'll love it.

Tyler looked over the file, his brows knit in concern as he noticed patterns in it. It's a battle of equals...back and forth. And the amount and layout...he's obsessed with this rivalry. Takes one to know one, I guess.

Azana kicked back, listening to the music gratefully.

Angeles paced back and forth through her room, diagonally from one corner to the other. The longest path available to walk in her room. One hand was tightly gripping her arm, her nails had pieced her skin and a thin trail of blood was running down her arm and dripping off her elbow, leaving a distinct red line on the floor where she had been walking.

She had been this way since Remy's departure, occasionally pulling her hair and growling and groaning, and D watched silently willing the parasite to remain silent.

"Calm down."

"I can't," she snapped back continuing to pace, a worried expression clear on her visage as she bit the tip of one thumb, "how can I relax while Remy is out there in danger and I cannot go to at least back him up and you refuse to leave."

"MacPere is here, so here I am as well," said D simply, "and Remy has the moonstone you gave him. I'm sure he'll return unharmed."

Angeles' step slowed only slightly at the sound of music, "Remy is a newborn vampire, not yet completely used to his powers. The moonstone will do nothing if he doesn't know how to handle himself," said Angeles closing her eyes and pulling at her hair again.

D was silent for a moment before asking, "do you love him?"

There was black metal suddenly at his throat and Angeles' red eyes glaring into his unfazed black. Although he was calm, this was not the reaction he had been expecting and it caught him off guard. If she wanted she would have slit his throat, though it would have actually done little.

"I can't," she growled tensely.

"Why?" asked D tonelessly, "Lucifer is dead."

Angeles tensed then pulled away and glanced over her shoulder at the lockets on the nightstand. It was true, Lucifer was finally truly dead, she was free to love again as she chose, but that was not what was holding her back.

"He's like my 'son,'" she said, her voice wracked with pain, "even though it was not I that turned him, I was his teacher. And I didn't take the time to teach him everything, he hasn't even found out his magical talent yet and he is out there on the front line and I'm here unable to do anything because the only man who can remove this damned collar is the one we're trying to rescue!"

Her voice became more frantic with every word and increased in pitch until she screamed the last word and threw the deathwhisper into the wall. The blade embedding itself all the way to the hilt and Angeles bent and pulled on her hair, fighting back the tears.

((random fact: apparently electric viola sounds like alto sax >.>))

(OOC: If it's electric, wouldn't you be able to change the type of sound it makes confused ?)

Kageko opened both eyes as she noticed that there actually was one other, very tense aura coming from upstairs. . Immediately after noticing the auras, the girl could make out shouts that soon became legible, crescendoing to a very high and loud shriek just as an equally loud thunk was heard as something was thrown at the wall.

By now, Kageko had stood up from her chair, genuinely worried about Angeles but unsure if she should be the one to go up there. She, who had just told Tyler to calm down, was now all tense. The last time she had seen the vampire, Angeles had given her such a look of defeat and Kageko had the feeling that she might have been a part of it. With a confused look on her face, Kageko turned to Azana and pointed upwards, making it obvious that she was unsure of whether or not she should head up and check.

(OOC: I'm assuming that if Angeles is screaming, then the rest of the inn should be able to hear.... If I'm wrong, just tell me and I'll edit my post sweatdrop .)

((nope, electric stringed instruments have their own sounds. Nothing quite compares to an electric violin. And Angeles is screaming, and Gren's music is soft, she most likely was heard.))

Angeles got to pacing again, her breathing fast when she was breathing, the pain in her chest dull compared to the more painful reactions the curse had. Curses in numerous languages found their way under her breath.

D sighed and closed his eyes, listening to the rhythm of the footsteps.
