Sighing, he closed the paper and set it down. Taking a sip of his drink, he looked up only to find his gaze meeting Eli's. Oh, boy. Here we go. He braced himself for the shouting and possible violence that was about to ensue.

Max came downstairs, not her usual bouncy self, though at the sight of Eli and Chris she quickly took a seat. The last thing she wanted was to get between these two...besides, she needed a break from trying to find her friend.
Sosol emerged from the kitchen, meanwhile, and automatically focused on Chris and Eli. It was a simple precaution, but he didn't want either of them getting hurt through this...

He spoke in a calm, even tone, doing his best not to work up Eli any more than he undoubtedly was. 'Now, Eli, you have to understand. It was a very tense day. Emotions were running high. And in my defense, you did shoot someone. All I did was punch you. I'm sorry for putting you in a coma. I wasn't thinking straight and I should have held back. If it makes you feel better, you're welcome to punch me in the face."

To the hero's words, MacPere broke into a slow, maniacal laughter before abruptly stopping, face serious as it began. "First of all; I do not recall giving you pleasure of calling me 'Eli'. MacPere shall do for you. And secondly, a mere punch? Oh come now, that is hardly a fair trade-off. I was out for quite for a while, shouldn't you be as well~?"

Max kicked her legs under the table, watching the two with great interest. Man, who needs TV when ya got these guys?!
Sosol's eyes narrowed at Max, but he was forced to keep his focus on Chris and Eli. This wasn't going well...and it seemed, more and more, that he would be needed.

Max's eyes widened. Whoa~...is he serious?
"E-Eli...isn't that a bit harsh...? I mean, he's kind of on active duty right now," Sosol asked quietly, knowing that absolutely no one (except Eli himself) would be happy with the arrangement.

"A bullet to the shoulder?! Okay, I sincerely apologize, because clearly that hit to the head gave you brain damage. I punched you, for which I apologize. You shot someone in the head! If you think I'm seriously going to-"
A sudden beeping from TEKKER cut him off. He answered the signal. "This is Knightsoul. Go ahead."
"I just heard from Tyler. Get over here fast."
"On my way," he replied, saying a silent thank you to whatever deity had decided to intervene. "Listen, MacPere. I have to run. Let's put the negotiations on hold for now. Have you people call my people and we'll reschedule." He activated his armor and walked out, grabbing Excalibur on the way. After a moment, he poked his head back in and looked at Max and Sosol. "You guys coming or what?"

Max jumped up from her seat, running over to meet Chris with an enthusiastic nod before looking back to Sosol.
Sosol grinned, sliding out from behind the bar. He was thankful for the momentary distraction, but somehow he knew things wouldn't improve with another discussion. He sent the news to Azana, relaying her answer to the others. "She'll catch up. Let's go."

MacPere rolled his eyes and sat back in his seat. "Typical... Always trying to justify, not willing to shift positions..." He didn't bother with a goodbye or anything of the sort, merely typing away numbers of expenditure.
