"No," said the woman in a flat tone, "I'm Alex, and last I checked I was human," she picked up the duffle bag and released the strap of the backpack that was slung over one shoulder and extended the now free hand to Gren, "I was referred to this place by a nun who said it would be good for my mind."

Alex shook some of her red hair out of her eyes and glanced past the dark haired man to the dark skinned man who was eying her suspiciously.

Alex noted his hand shake, absently studying his hand before she retracted it and held onto the strap of her bag, "Nah, I've got it," she said slipping in past him. She glanced at Baldur who was no ignoring her, "just let me know where I pay and I'll be outta your hair for the night."

'It's free' caught her a bit by surprise but she did not show it. Instead she nodded in thanks and walked up the stairs, checking a corner room and walked in, not to be seen again that night.

The rehead walked back into the inn, the scent of smoke heavy around her. She walked upstairs and came back down with a laptop. She looked around at the main room and noted that several of the tables were decorated, one half-finished.

Alex walked over to one that was not carved and set the laptop up and opened it. With a small sigh she opened up her usual windows; her book and solitaire. Procrastinating she played the card game and left her book untouched.

After a moment she blinked and looked over at a young blond child holding a black cat. There was a bit of silence between the two before Alex broke the silence, "hello."

"Hi!" said the child smiling brightly, "this is my kitty."

"Is it now?" asked Alex, reaching over and adjusting the cat into a more comfortable position in the child's arms. THe girl nodded.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Playing a game." responded Alex flatly.

"Like house?"

"I can play house," said Alex, moving and opening the SIMS program.

"Can I play too?" asked Emily bouncing up and down. Alex nodded and Emily dropped the cat and pulled herself up onto Alex's lap and looked at the computer screen. Alex put a bit of unruly blond hair behind Emily's ear before beginning the game.

Alex lifted her eyes from the laptop screen and glanced at the man who seemed to be very irritated before patting Emily on the shoulder. The girl looked up from the game and smiled, sliding from Alex's lap and running over to the redheaded man.

"Happy father's day!" she yelled hugging the man's leg. Alex turned her eyes back to the screen and made one of the sims go eat something.

"Uh-huh! Auntie Alex and I are playing house on her computer!" she yelled giving MacPere another hug. IT had been the older woman that explained father's day to the child, the subject being brought up as Alex decided it would be the plot of the sims game they were playing.

The red-head did not look up. Clicking several squares of pixels as her sim had set the kitchen on fire.

"Auntie Alex...?" He looked up, noting the girl at her laptop as he placed down Emily. "Oh! I'm sorry I didn't notice you there... Welcome to the inn, if you're new here..."

Looking to the familiar feminine voice, MacPere immediately found a smile, walking around the bar and wrapping his arms around Stella's waist; head on her shoulder. "It is afternoon. And life also hates me."

"The holiday to Milan has been cancelled in favour of Gren's parents coming here, That bloody superhero expects me to let him get away with hospitalising me without any consequences and... Bloody hell, I'm beginning to show my age..."
