"At first, absolutely nothing," he answered with a shrug. "They went the civil route, asking for my help against Omega Zero. Apparently, all the recent disappearances were related between my captors and the Knights' nemesis...which really intrigues me, but that's beside the point. I went along with it for a while, and the story they fed me made sense regardless."
He stopped momentarily at Remy's arrival. "Well, hello! Someone's a cheerful vampire today..."

"I see... It seems typical. Knight's nemesis, however, sounds like a remarkable man. Don't get me wrong, he is a sick, twisted fellow, but a mind like that... It makes me glad that you are on our side. To be intelligent... What a wish..."
Glancing to the door, MacPere rose a hand in greeting with a smile. "Good day to you, Remus... Are we alright?"

Alex looked over at the vampire as he walked down, her gaze lingering a bit longer than needed before she moved back to her book, minimizing it and opening another document. This one book she had been working on for a while, and it was about vampires. Maybe she could use him for inspiration. A few clicks of her mouse and the music changed to get her into a slightly more mysterious mood and thought on the words on the screen for a moment.

Tyler flinched slightly at MacPere's account of Omega Zero. Having read Chris' file on the villain, he probably knew better than most of the others what that "sick, twisted fellow" could do. To Remy's cheerful exclamation, he counted mentally, nodding his head in confirmation. "You're right...then again, we've somewhat crippled most of our common enemies. I doubt we'll be having much trouble for a while, and believe me, I'm thankful to not have to pull all-nighters again."

Remy laughed. "I hope not...peace isn't achieved through force, but by understanding...A little lull in the havoc would be great!" he said, strolling off up the stairs, intent to finish his painting.

Tyler quirked an eyebrow. "You were...like some sort of automatic defense?" That short pause contained all his thoughts on the subject and the formulation of his conclusion. "That doesn't sound 'ridiculous' at all...then again, I suppose your audience is a bit less than normal. Still, is there an explanation of how or why?"

"Unlike some people, I am unaccustomed to being on the receiving end of such things," he responded flatly, though he still grinned to show no offense. He couldn't help but bark a laugh at MacPere's statement about her youth.
"I believe you have no room to talk on such subjects, Eliwood MacPere," he shot back calmly, taking a sip of his iced tea and thinking (most likely over-thinking) the past week or so. So, despite knowing some of the darker moments in his life, a failed date, and the whole labyrinth he had set up...he had a girlfriend?
