Matilda laughed. "I hope it's all right...I made it with what I found." she said, setting out bowls.

Chris came downstairs in a relaxed mood. After visiting the lake with Crystal for a romantic picnic, he had taken an afternoon nap. He awoke refreshed and decided to see if any of his friends were about.
Entering the main room, he saw several of the Inn's regular crowd. "Hi, everybody. How's it going?"

Tyler frowned at his plan failing, thinking again for a moment...there had to be some way of working this out...
Azana waved to Chris. "July eleventh, August third. Mark your calendars...'tis the season for gettin' hitched!" She laughed, looking at her glass.
"No, I didn't spike it. You really are that excited." Sosol shook his head with a smile. He wished for more days like this...

At the mention of getting hitched, Chris panicked and quickly looked around the room. "Don't talk like that, Az. You'll put ideas in Crystal's head." Seeing no sign of the aforementioned Miss Wade, he relaxed slightly and took a seat at his usual table.
Spotting the frown on Tyler's face, he said "As long as it doesn't involve nuclear physics or my ex-girlfriend, might I offer a fresh perspective on whatever conundrum vexes you?"

One corner of Sosol's mouth curled into a sly smile. "Someone not ready for commitment, obviously. She was talking about the rest of us...Eli and Gren in ten days, us in a little over a month."
Tyler looked to Chris, gesturing to the redhead across from him. "This is Alex. She has absolutely no inflection to her voice and is tired of her humor coming across as serious threats or sarcastic remarks. Any ideas?"
Azana stood from the table, walking over to fix a pair of bowls. She hadn't had chowder in a while...and from Mrs. Eckener, it promised to be a real treat!

"Asking the wrong guy, I think. I'm the leader of a group of highly trained superpowered beings. I'm more of an action guy. You want lessons in comedy, you should talk to the bird. Of course, I'm not sure if he does it on purpose or if it just comes naturally, but Nate is a bona fide expert on physical comedy." He turned to Alex and offered a slight wave. "Chris Roberts. Nice to meet you."
looking around the room, he wondered aloud "Where is that featherbrain, anyway? It's not like him to not be here causing some manner of havoc or chaos."

"I've spoken to him already," said Alex, pulling out her since forgotten soda and taking a drink, "he didn't understand me either," she set the soda down with a bit of a sigh, "oh well, maybe I should stick to plan A and just not talk."
Baldur looked over at Zulma and blinked once before rumbling, "um... no..., we mate... and that's it," he now felt that he had done something wrong with everyone all happy about these marriages.

"Hey, you offered, and it wasn't nuclear physics or your ex...by the way, have you seen her around? Ever since we got back from that safehouse, she's been like the Invisible Woman..." Tyler said, the frown returning as he started to get the urge to continue on his teleporter again...it was obvious Alex needed a better expert than he.
Azana slid a bowl in front of Sosol before setting hers down, offering a spoon. "I'm thinking blue for the bridesmaids."
"Why's that?"
"Both Stella and Max look good in it," she answered simply, blowing on a spoonful to cool it. "You think Zulma would want in on it, too?"
"I don't know...that's your part to sort out. I think I'll be set, on the other hand..."
"Got a best man yet?"
"Still deciding that one...I feel bad just picking one of them."

"Stacy is either at Central or up in her room, I believe. If you don't mind my asking, Tyler, what's going on with you two? You guys seemed pretty close the other day. Not that I'm prying, mind you. I'm just curious."
In answer to Chris previous question, a loud crash came from the kitchen. A moment later, the eccentric firebird known as Nate came rolling out of the kitchen with a pot on his head, trying to maintain his balance on what seemed to be a runaway rolling pin. Chris got up and quickly went to open the door just in time for Nate to sail through, followed by another loud crash and the angry howl of a very perturbed cat. Chris sat back down, looked at the others and said "I rest my case."

Alex stopped talking and opened her laptop as the conversation became Chris' and Tyler's. She minimized all the windows but her sequel document and scrolled down to where she left off and sighed, closing her eyes to thinks of how to continue.

Azana blinked in surprise as Nate sailed by. "Thank goodness Greg and Matilda weren't in the way," she commented before taking another joyful bite.
"I'm not entirely sure myself," Tyler admitted. "MacPere seems to think there's something between us, but we've only been to dinner once...I was hoping to talk to her about it, but as I said, no sign of her." He had to admit, the idea of some sort of spark was pleasant, even exciting, though he remained somewhat skeptical.

Zulma smiled, apparently very satisfied by Baldur's answer. She kissed him on the lips and the nose.
"There will be a lot to do in the following weeks." she said.
"I hope that for once I'll be able to help...I have been so much away..." she said a little sadly.
