Chris came downstairs, a stack of computer printouts in his hand. "Note to self: Booby-trap wallet in case girlfriend wants to go shopping."
He took note of Alex sitting nearby and said a hasty good morning as he sat at his usual table. He continued going over the printouts, now clearly visible as credit receipts, and attempted to make sense of the female drive for shopping.

Alex looked up and gave a small wave before the man sat down and immediately was busy. She went back to her own work, relating the events of the inn since she had arrived. Kuniko climbed up her braided rat tail and secured himself on the top of her head, where he proceeded to try to make a nest out of her hair.

Nate, in his chef's attire, emerged from the kitchen holding an enormous platter of Belgian waffles. He set the platter down in front of Chris and waited expectantly.
Chris looked up at the bird's arrival and chuckled. "Thanks, buddy. You always know how to cheer me up." He put down the printouts and took the fork Nate handed him, digging in.

"I smell waffles!" Max said enthusiastically, peeking down from the stairway before hopping down the stairs. "Heya, Nate! Any for me?"

Alex took note of the scent of breakfast but did not bother to look. It wasn't for her, she would get her own or wait until noon to eat. She was almost done with the short amount of writing she had done, only about thirty pages, skipping over the more uneventful periods of time.
That was when the rainbow known as Max came down and asked for her own waffles. Alex shook her head slowly to herself.

Nate proceeded to dish out helpings from the heap for Max and Alex before returning to the kitchen for a second platter which he proceeded to devour.
Chris saw Nate tackle the waffles and decided to strap himself into his chair to prepare for Nate's inevitably earthshaking belch. "Brace yourselves. Morning, Max."

Alex stopped typing long enough to side-glance at the waffles presented to her before her gaze went back to her screen and she kept typing.

"Goooood morning!" Max replied, energetic even in the mornings as she eyed her plate of waffles hungrily. "Itadakimasu!" She dug into the waffles, offering muffled thanks between bites.
Tyler came downstairs, sleepily making his way to the kitchen. While he did enjoy a good waffle, that wasn't what he was looking for...something quick, since he still had a deadline to meet.

Nate offered a plate to Tyler, insisting that the genius have a good breakfast.
Chris looked over at the hurried Tyler, ignoring Max's ever present enthusiasm. "What's on your mind, my friend? Anything I can assist with?"

Max glanced up at Nate and Tyler. "Ya should, Ty...bird's got skills."
Tyler gave a small sigh of defeat, even though he could think of worse things to lose to. "Thanks, Nate. It's just that I had a bit of a setback with my teleportation system...trying to catch up for lost time on assembly. I gave myself a doable, but challenging, deadline...the new one should be put together and ready for calibration on Sunday."

Alex's fingers stopped moving as her phone buzzed in her pocket. With a sigh she pulled it out and looked t the number. She blinked once before deciding to humor her editor and flipped open the phone. Immediately there was screaming, words that hardly held any meaning and Alex held the phone six inches from her ear hardly listening with a bored expression.
After about a minute Alex put the now silent phone to her ear, "are you done?" she asked flatly. She then blinked when her editor hung up on her. She looked at the phone with a single raised eyebrow before flipping it closed and getting back to work.

MacPere whistled as he entered the inn with a small box under his arm, clearly pleased at the arrival of such package. "Only to check for spelling mistakes and the like..." He sighed, setting himself down at a table.

Alex looked up at MacPere as he entered pleased at something. She clicked save on the document and titled it 'The Inn of Peace.' She then closed the document and got to work on the waffles beside her, glad that the redhead seemed to have taken no offense to Sister Natalie blatantly pointing at his tail the way she had.

Max waved to MacPere, happily chewing on one of the last bites of her waffle. She swallowed, letting out a contented sigh. "Hi there!"
"Well, all the components are made...it's just a matter of connecting them and making sure the casing works for it. I spent yesterday fixing my old model after it overloaded on me..." Tyler explained, laying the older one next to the somewhat smaller, black work in progress.
Sosol came downstairs, smiling as he greeted everyone, though is attention was mostly on Eli. "Good...afternoon now, I think. I've got some lovely news for you."
