"Sure, and after playing I'll cook first and you and Alex can eat while we study since after we study for Psychology I'll drop you off then I'll spend the rest of my night studying. Fun right?" She chuckled and looked at the music sheet that Debra had picked and nodded. It hadn't been to long since she played that song on the violin so she was good to go. The two played the song and it sounded rather well not one missing a note so that was a great success After their little practice Sofia headed back down and went to cooking already after putting her psychology book down on the table and she told Alex, "You can join us in studying for the psych test tomorrow if you want." It was up to him if he wanted to do so, if he didn't want to she wouldn't mind, it certainly wouldn't hurt her feelings. Meanwhile Bo sat next to Alex watching the television but of course the dog didn't understand what was going on but he was too lazy to do anything else.

After a while Sofia and Debra came down from the attic, and it was a good thing that Sofia had mentioned the test because it had completely slipped from Alex's mind. "That sounds like a good idea," he said in return, and after a brief pause, he asked, "By the way, where did you put my pain medication?"

Sofia glanced over at Alex then over at the cabinet that held his pills but she simply said, "Just somewhere, you can have the dose you need after dinner." Without another word she went on to make the food for everyone, keeping in mind that Alex would probably be very irritated at the fact that he was in pain and she would not let him take his pills but doctors orders so she would not let him have more than he needed. After the food was done Debra and Alex were free to eat while they studied since that's what Sofia was currently doing.

Alex noticed the direction that Sofia had looked, but he had thoroughly searched that cupboard, or so he thought, and so didn't help him any. His irritation came partly because she was keeping his pills from him, but mostly because he felt that she was treating him like a child. Unfortunately he couldn't say or do anything about it without appearing to be a child. Since there was nothing that he could do about it, he sat down to eat and to study, as Sofia and Debra were already doing.

After eating she focused on studying for the next hour, asking them the terms that would be on the test as well as theories etc. She glanced at the clock and saw that it was getting late and she had to study for her other tests. And so, she gladly gave Debra a lift home. On her way back to the apartment there were a couple guys in the car next to her being stupid as usual and she did her best to ignore their comments. Once she was home she sat back in the kitchen and continued her studying with all the other subjects, Bo pestering her every now and then. Sofia sighed and looked down at the dog, "Come on Bo...I really need to study, go bother Alex for the time being." Bo tilted his head to the side before standing up and trotting over to the couch where he sat in front of the t.v and stared at Alex. He wanted to play fetch but Alex would be unable to help him with that but it didn't stop him from dropping a ball on Alex's lap.

"Sorry Bo. As much as I want to go outside, I can't play 'fetch' with you," Alex said to the dog while emphasizing his point by patting the brace on his leg, as if that would help the dog to understand. After a moment, he said, "Hey, I've got a good idea!" Alex picked up the ball and without stopping to think things through, he gently tossed it into the kitchen. "Go fetch, boy!" he said encouragingly.

Disaster was sure to occurred the moment the ball landed in the sink despite the fact that Alex tossed the ball lightly. Bo, excited to play fetch darted off into the kitchen in a great speed no sign of him stopping. The whole while Sofia had watched the ball land in the sink and Bo thundering in to get that small thing. She stood up with a horrified expression and stumbled back as she yelled out, "No Bo! Stop!" But as she got to 'stop' Bo had jumped up onto the counter and knocked the rack of dishes onto the floor, most of the plates breaking and to add to that he even broke the faucet, water bursting into the air, wetting the dog and Sofia as she tried lugging him out of the sink. He had gotten the ball but with a cost. Sofia's upper half was soaking wet by the time she managed to shove the metal back but she had to shut the water off the next day for the plumber to come fix this. But for now she had to clean up the floor though she really was tempted to tell Alex to do it. Sofia sighed heavily and grabbed Bo by the collar and pulled him out of the kitchen and into the living room. She had taken her glasses off since they were of no use with water all over the lens. Letting Bo go, she stared at Alex with a clear expression of irritation.

"Are you stupid or did you do it on purpose? Who plays fetch with a dog in a small apartment? Not only did the kitchen get half demolished but Bo could have gotten hurt, honestly if you weren't injured I would make you clean up the mess you caused it," Sofia let out a sigh after those words and shook her head at him, getting some water on him but he had no room to complain. She went back into the kitchen to clean up the broken plates and to salvage what dishes could be salvaged.

"Oh s**t!" Alex mumbled to himself when he heard the loud crash. He could only hang his head in shame as Sofia came out of the kitchen with Bo and yelled at him. "Sorry! My bad!" he called after her as she went back into the kitchen, which was probably the lamest thing that he had said in a long time, and then he looked at Bo and whispered, "Why didn't you tell me that it was a terrible idea?" Not that Bo could have said that even if he wanted to. Just then the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Alex called out to Sofia, which was his way to partially make up for the chaos that he had just caused. He got up from couch, worked his way to the door, and opened it. As luck would have it, his parents had just arrived for a visit. "Hey! Wow! What a surprise!" Alex said as they entered the apartment. "We just wanted to see how you and Sofia were doing," his mother replied. At the moment Alex couldn't think of a worse time for them to show up, but they were there, and so he called out, "Sofia, my parents are here!"

Unfortunately her luck always ended up having a negative domino affect just like now. Not only was she nowhere close to having the kitchen clean, she looked like a mess. If anything his parents would think of an irresponsible girl and that was certainly something she didn't like people to think of her as. If Alex and her were intimate, this would be one of those moments where he would be sent to sleep on the couch and not touch her. But since they weren't close to being there, she would have to come up with another consequence. For now she slipped out of the kitchen to go change which didn't take long since she had gotten used to dressing rather quickly in order to get other things done quicker and on time. For now the kitchen was off limits and she would simply sit with them in the living room and if anyone wanted a drink or a snack she would get it herself, there was no need for them to see the mess Alex created.

Bo had gone off to the corner and sat there as if punishing himself and simply watched the parents walk in, Sofia greeting them and offering them to sit down. Alex's father sat in the arm chair, his mother on the couch near her husband and so Sofia was forced to sit next to Alex. Now, they simply sat there silently and awkwardly. What was she to say to them? How does a normal person speak to their normal parents? She had no knowledge of this what so ever.

Alex was just as interested in keeping his parents out of the kitchen as Sofia was, since he didn't want his parents to find out that he was responsible for the mess that was in the kitchen. After an awkward silence, during which everyone sat in the living room and tried to think of something to say, Alex's mother broke the silence by asking, "So... how are you and Sofia doing?" "We'll doing well," Alex said in return. His mother accepted that with a nod and then remarked, "You seem to be getting around fairly well under the circumstances." Alex nodded and replied, "With a little practice, I'll be using these crutches like a pro. Of course this is just temporary until I can start to walk again." "Of course. How is your pain medication? Is it strong enough?" his mother asked next. "Yes, those pain pills work very well," Alex said in return. To tell the truth he was wishing that one of those pills was working at the moment, but Sofia hadn't given his dose to him yet and he still didn't know where she had hidden them. However he couldn't bring that up without sounding like a crybaby. His mother nodded again and said, "That's good. Be sure to keep us informed about your progress, and don't forget to tell us the moment that Sofia has some happy news!" Just leave it to Alex's mother to make the situation even more awkward with her subtle hint about grandchildren. Alex's father shook his head in dismay and chided, Now Mabel, Alex and Sofia are doing fine on their own, and they don't need any pressure from you." Alex's mother shrugged and replied, "I was just saying."

What just happened? Sofia sat there with a blank expression when his mother had brought up the subject of 'happy news' in other words wanting to hear that she was pregnant. This would be the moment where she would turn red as a tomato but not wanting to draw more attention to herself she sat there quietly and manged to keep her face the same fair skinned color. Still, it was not far more awkward than it was when they got here. What could she say now? There was nothing to say and so she just sat there and answered any question his mother had toward her hoping that she would not bring up 'happy news' again because Sofia and Alex were no where near intimate. If their future did hold intimacy that would be for a while. First thing he had to do was gain her trust and show her that there was more to him then he was showing her.

She remembered then that she had yet to give Alex his pain pills. That was a great excuse to leave. Sofia stood up and excused herself and went into the kitchen, getting his bottle of pills and taking one before putting it back in the hiding place. She then returned with a water bottle and the pill and handed it to him before sitting right back down next to him.

After another brief silence, Alex's mother gave Sofia a smile and said, "That's a beautiful dog that you have. It must be such a comfort to know that your apartment is so well protected during the day while you're in school. What's his name?" For a moment Alex tried to remember if he had told his parents anything about Bo, but he came up empty.

Sofia looked at Bo then at her mother-in-law, "He has kept me safe for a couple years now and he still does so. His name is Bo and he's very friendly unless someone is trying to do something bad towards me or anyone he likes." She smiled and patted Bo's head as he trotted over to her then over to Alex's mom as to introduce himself. Sofia wasn't sure how long they would be here and she couldn't be rude and just leave. All her studying came to a halt.

"Say, you're not trying to drive that Mustang of yours while you have that thing on your leg, are you, Alex?" his father asked. "No, I'm not," Alex said with a shake of his head, although he was thinking about giving it a try anyway, "Sofia has been giving me rides in her car. Her parents gave her a brand-new Mercedes Benz." "A Mercedes?" his father asked with interest, "Now that's a generous and thoughtful gift." Alex's parents had met Sofia's parents only briefly, and so Alex's parents didn't really know what Sofia's parents were really like. Alex had been with his in-laws often enough to know that 'generous' and 'thoughtful' weren't words that he would use to describe them. If he were to choose one word that fit his father-in-law and mother-in-law, that word was 'manipulative'.
