Sosol applauded, smiling at the performance. "Thank you, Xei. You play very well." He was hoping that there were more musicians in the house; Gren and Eli tended to be the major performers in the Inn...having a change of pace was nice, and nothing like their two week absence to coax people out of their shells.

"Stacy, you have to let him come up for air eventually."
Stacy sighed and broke off the kiss. "Killjoy," she replied. "We managed to talk the guy down. He was just some poor guy in a desperate situation. I filed a report with the DA and asked him to go easy. The best thing is all the hostages were unharmed, so I'm in a good mood and I feel like showing it."

Chris and Jake watched Mike's continued efforts with the siren with a slight amusement. "You want to tell him or should I?"

Sosol chuckled, sliding out from behind the bar but not putting up his sign. "I guess I'll join in..."
"Always right to the point," Tyler said with a sly smirk before wrapping an arm around her and closing in for another kiss.
"Man, I heard I missed out on--" Max stopped, blinking at Ty and the detective. Her mouth curled into a smile, joyed to see that the wedding one wasn't a fluke. You go, Ty! She thought before noticing the poker game.
"Oh, what the hell."

The mere mention of poker was enough to summon even the most hardcore gamblers from all corners of the globe. Therefore it was no surprise to see the ultimate gambler, Nate, emerge from the kitchen and take his seat among the other card sharks. At least he had brought pretzels.
"Everybody stay sharp. The Gambler has graced us with his presence. Make that penny ante, otherwise he'll clean us out in twenty minutes."
"You know me. I like the direct approach" she replied, meeting his lips halfway.

"Uh-oh," Sosol said with a grin, pulling off his shades and reminding himself to avoid eye contact. "This could get ugly, then..."
"Oh, bring it on, birdie! I will take you out," Max said with a bright smile, pulling out a chair for herself.
Tyler knew how lucky he was since coming to the Inn the first time. A new lease on life, a job with the GMO, a widened social circle, and now, as if the complete turnaround wasn't enough, he was now kissing probably the most amazing woman he had met. (Nothing against Azana or Max, of course; they simply weren't his type.)
In the back of his mind, though, there was a bit of anxiety about the possibility of this lucky streak running out.

The bird let loose a confident screech and motioned for Chris to deal the cards. Mike came over and joined the game as the hand was dealt. "All right, folks. Five card draw is the game, dueces wild. Penny ante. Let's play." The players grabbed their cards and looked at their hands. Jake opened the betting. "Five" he said, throwing a nickel on the table. ((Running a randomizer for the lucky number, so submit your digits. In the meantime, enjoy this friendly, gambling-themed video.))

((Ha ha! Nice... Eleven! Twenty-six!))
Sosol looked over his cards, never having been a good liar. Maybe this was a bad idea...he called the bet, trying to think positive. If he got a little bit of extra change, he could use it for something special on the honeymoon.
Max's eyes were on the bird. She had a good poker face, unlike the psychic nearby, and such a challenge with her was irresistible.
Tyler pulled away after a while, looking into her eyes. "Would you mind if we found somewhere a bit more comfortable...?" He asked quietly. "Bar seats weren't made for this..."

Nate stared the hacker down as he threw in a dime, raising the bet. He gave nothing away as he waited for the draw.
"I'll see your dime and call" Chris said, tossing the money in. "Your bet, Max."

Max shrugged, sliding forward a dime of her own. Start small, feel him out.
Sosol sighed, knowing he'd have to put forth a nickel to stay in.
"Well, there are couches down here...and there's always upstairs..." Tyler said slyly. "In all honesty, anywhere but here is fine with me."

"Upstairs, huh? Now who's cutting to the chase, Mister Hunter?" she said with a playful wink. She looked over at the others, wrapped up in their poker game. "I doubt they'll notice that we're missing, especially once Nate starts his streak." She stood and took his hand, leading him to the stairs.
Mike tossed in a dime without saying a word.
Jake also threw in a nickel to even the pot.
"All right, folks. How many cards?"
"I'll take two.
