Xei allows a low yawn to crawl from her lips as she slinks her way down the stairs, slender form in a rigid frame, silver hair falling about her shoulders in small waves, crimson orbs dim, arms wrapped around her waist, hugging to her body. She moved to the bar an slid into a seat, crossing her legs, head on the counter.

Fenyx woke up on the roof... "Wow... How did I get here?"

A note was placed in very neat handwriting by Xei. The writing was in English, but obviously written by a foreign hand. It read: I got someone, who might be able to help us. It's by the door, reading the neutral ground regulations.

Angeles stepped back, a scarf was wrapped around her throat, and she had a serene smile on her lips, and a notepad and pen in her hand. She turned and walked back to where D was huddled in the corner. He didn't look nearly as serene, but he looked decidedly less sorrowful than normal. There was just something about being in the presence of an angel.

The angel itself was indeed reading the neutral regulation nailed to the wall. It's wings shifted slightly as it stood straight with a sound mixed between approval and disappointment. and turned to look around at the main room of the inn.

Alex was asleep at her table. She was probably going to hear it from D once he was able to move, right now tough, she was asleep for the first time in two days.

Max came downstairs with a yawn, blinking at the latest newcomer to the inn. "No. Freaking. Way." She walked over briskly, taking a circle around it with narrowed eyes. "Is this for reals?"

Xei opened an eye, glancing at the piece of paper, raising a brow as she leaned back an up, taking it up on her hands. She reads it a few times over then rubs her cheek slightly, frowning, she had hoped it was all just a dream, didn't seem to be that lucky.

"--in heaven's name were you two thinking?!" Sosol had been nice enough to leave them alone for the evening, but a new night brought newfound fervor in his concern for their well-being.

"Tyler took the plan and ran with it," Azana replied, still a bit bitter about his impromptu acting lesson, though she had to admit...his experience in these situations probably had just saved them a lot of trouble. "Either way, we know what they look like, what they're capable of, their voices. Even more, I have a sense of their presence...I'm not Kageko when it comes to trailing that, but I'll know one if it gets close."

"And the explosion...?"

"The what?!" Azana asked, turning to glare at Tyler.

"Next time, they should be more honest," he answered with a smirk, walking on ahead of them. "Either way, we've got their attention, and with my little device, the only way they'll know we're here is pure chance, or if that professor does something stupid."

The Siren stirs, opens both eyes quickly, head snapping up at the noise, false alarm. She sighs an shakes her head, crimson orbs turning their way over the large room, hiding back in a corner, Lek curling across her lap as Bo rested on the feline's head.

Fenyx jumped off the roof, and knocked on the door. "Hello, I'm here once again to bring your lives to the brink of insanity. By the way, my magic is not through any innate ability; I got it through constant practice, if that proves or disproves any theories that anyone here has."

A good portion of the GMO group, in fact everyone but Skuld, sat at a table, discussing the latest developments when Fenyx burst in with his random announcement.

"Actually," James said, "that's really helpful...I've been trying to put together some theory of psi..."

"Taylor, focus," Stella said somewhat harshly. She, in fact, did have some innate talent, but she was well aware of the need for practice and training. Through her intense study of astral magic, he had gone up two wand ranks since she started. "So, run this by me again. How did your simple delivery turn into a possible infiltration mission?"

"Well, Professor Cormac came in the door, frantic and exhausted," Azana started. "He had his case, which he still hasn't let go of, and a severe paranoia about people following him or finding him."

"I found a broken tracer on him," Tyler continued. "I fixed it, and Azana and I went to see who these people were and how they did business."

"Meanwhile, I talked to the Prof until he dozed off. Max got us some spare data, too. The guy's probably sword level, and he's been working for these people...against his will, it seems. Made a run for it with the River case."

"River case...?" Stella asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"He's got human cargo, Stella. A living bioweapon, apparently with taste for music and roses. He's protecting her like she's his daughter, so I haven't made him relinquish it. From what I could tell, their task forces are modified, too. Something felt...not right about them."

"As for the infiltration idea, you can thank Chris. When he heard about our prof here, he wasn't pleased. Don't blame him, either...so, since he, Tyler, and myself would probably qualify, we thought--"

"You go in and take them out," Stella finished the statement with a frown. "You want me to put my two best Swords undercover in an environment like that?"

"What better opportunity will we have?" Azana asked, even though she was hiding her own concerns about the mission. Chris would be fine, Tyler had the experience and the persona. James, though...she always did her best to keep him out of the field. Couldn't they find someone else?

Fenyx shrugged. "Well, actually, I haven't been practicing magic lately. Instead, to avoid a weakness to the rather rare 'magic cancel' ability, as well as to magic-canceling bullets, I've been practicing using ki instead. Aaaaand, when you combine the two, you get an ability called kankahou." Fenyx opened up a book with his notes on magic, and various other abilities that may come in handy. "Let's see... 'Xianguafa, the method of conjoining; known in the west as Suntaxis Antikeimenoin [Συνταξις Αντικειμενοιν], “the union of the opposing,” the ultimate art. By combining the opposing forces of mana and qi, the user gains incredible physical and spiritual power. Simply activating the skill enhances physical strength and agility, protection against physical and magical attacks, fighting spirit, and a variety of other effects including resistance to heat, cold, and poisons.' Hmmm... Well, that seems useful enough." He walked up to a room.

"He's always like this," stated a musical voice as the angel faded in with a gentle wave of light. The two vampires instinctively shrunk away, and Angeles nodded even though what the angel had said was not a question.

She had been listening to the GMO explain to Stella what was going on, and was keeping the notepad in front of her just in case. D had scolded her harshly, in his own way, for doing something as stupid as she did: asking an angel for help.

The angel itself had left after Max's initial astonishment, but was now back, glancing at the life it had missed during its first visit.

Xei raised her head, peering at the odd creature, frowning some as her thoughts wandered to Lucien, a low hiss coming from her lips quickly, hands clenching up some as her eyes flashed a dangerous gold. She pauses then takes in a deep breath, looking away, now wasn't the time an no where near the place. She shifts in her seat, moving Bo Lek into the floor, shooing them off.

The angel looked over at the siren and tilted its head, looking completely bored by being there. An interesting group, that much it could admit. And after being here as long as it had, it could understand why the vampire risked her life to ask for a guardian. But right now was too quiet, nothing was happening, and it was bored.

Angeles looked over as the siren hissed and bore her own fangs in a hiss, the first noise she had made since returning. Alex was back at her computer, and looked up at the second hiss, glanced at the angel, then went back to work.

Xei waved a hand to the vampire, still not looking that way, speaking slightly. "I was hissing because of you." She leans back, crossing her legs.

"Quite children," said the angle, already tired of their back and forth, "and you," it said pointing at the siren, "don't indulge in pointless arguments that are petty to begin with. She can't speak, it's the price she paid, so there's no use talking to her."

The angel turned away and sighed murmuring, "this place, these people and their sins. And you want me to protect it?" the angel turned to face Angeles who nodded in answer. She didn't need to, it was rhetorical. The angel turned away from the vampiress and again walked to the neutral ground paper and read it again, by now having memorized it.

"This is a waste of my time," it sighed.
