"Nothing alcoholic, but I'd love a glass of lemonade if you have some," he replied, plucking a brownie from the tray. "And thank you all for the warm welcome. I promise I won't be an imposition. I'll be on my way as soon as my business is concluded."
Stacy helped herself to a brownie. She was a bit annoyed at this turn of events. Cameron was a nice guy, but he had a tendency to come on a bit strong. She knew Chris didn't like him, but wasn't sure why. She hoped that there wasn't any trouble.

Azana began to lead him away with that conveniently placed hand of hers. "So, we were talking about a party? I'm surprised Max hasn't popped back in...planning isn't the same without her, but I'm sure we can get a head start!"
"One lemonade," he echoed with a nod, pulling out the pitcher and pouring a glass for the visitor. The tension between the two geniuses and Cameron was extremely high, though he could not quite understand what brought forward such emotions. Was Tyler jealous? No, that couldn't be it...
Hm. I'll ask later...don't need to cause a fuss, he thought, floating the lemonade toward Cameron while snatching a brownie for himself. Remembering the cake incident, he was a bit hesitant about trying it, but who knew? Maybe Nate had learned a thing or two.
"Thanks," Tyler said to Nate as he plucked a brownie from the tray, taking a bite with a grateful smile. "Hey, these aren't bad! And trust me...we've had much bigger impositions than you." He could probably name off half a dozen off the top of his head (himself being one at one point)...
He raised his glass to Stacy with a grin, trying to show a bit of good will as he took a sip. He wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but all the evidence was pretty incriminating...
((And I gotta jet. Vacuuming, then visiting family...then trivia. Why is life so busy?))

"Mm... It would be best to wait. Max'll want it to be to her liking. Besides, I'll probably end up as the old guy in the corner. It's fine." MacPere slumped into a chair and frowned as he quietly sipped, deeply set into a negative mood. If he had his way, he would still be in Milan...

Stacy raised her glass as well, smiling at her handsome genius. She, too had to admit Nate's brownies were pretty good, and she was glad to be sharing them with Tyler.
Chris finished installing the locks and barricaded himself in his room after calling Crystal and telling her to stay at HQ where it was safe. Omega wouldn't violate the neutrality edict. It would compromise his cover. Chris would simply have to wait and see what his foe's endgame was. Could it be possible that the next part of the prophecy was coming to pass?

Gren patted MacPere's cheek gently. "I'm sorry love...we'll have that sort of party sometime soon."
The girl watched the interesting crowd flow and ebb, her sarsaparilla long since drained. Perhaps there was someone to talk to? The blond woman was busy with the glasses man, the gay people were chatting..."Hm."

Azana sighed. "Guess you're right...she'll probably bring in a DJ, too. I think she missed dancing at the wedding." She left him to his brooding, walking back to the bar and re-joining the young girl. "So, what's your story?"
Sosol refilled her glass, glad to see everything winding down somewhat. "I have to admit I'm interested, too..."

The girl smiled widely. "Oh hi! Yeah, good to meet you! My name's Charlotte, howdydoo?" Her presence was bizarre, a sort of friendly and twisted aura that wasn't unnerving, so much as just plain odd.

"Azana and Sosol Jacobs," they answered in unison before laughing a little at their stereo introduction. "We're doing alright, complete chaos aside," Azana answered with the remnants of her small giggle fit.
"This place can't seem to decide whether it wants to be frantic or completely quiet," Sosol commented, watching everyone go about their business. He wondered if it was a good time to ask Tyler or Chris about their reaction to Cameron, but Tyler was busy with Stacy, and Chris, it seemed, had locked himself in his room.

Charlotte giggled. "Oh, nice! Stereo! You two are a close couple, sharing vibes and whatnot!" She looked out across the room. "I can explain that, actually. This place is a huge knot of chaos. Literally."

Chris had finally emerged from his room, satisfied that Cameron wasn't going to try anything tonight, and returned to the main room. He took a seat at the bar and ordered his usual.

"What, like a nexus?" Azana asked, remembering the term from somewhere. Maybe James' constant theorizing...?
"You could say that," Sosol said, commenting on her first statement. They had spent years together, and almost a year working as partners. It was only natural for a link of this strength to form...
At Chris' order, he shook out of his own thoughts and returned to his second job...one he needed not for the money but for the calm it seemed to bring.
Tyler glanced over at Chris as he returned and ordered a drink, halfway tempted to ask him about Cameron...though with Stacy in the same room, it was probably not the best of plans.

Alex listened to the plans, wondering if they would mind if she provided the music. She had quite a lot.
The angel had moved away to observe, having not quite stopped chuckling at MacPere calling him sensitive.
Angeles had since moved back down the stairs, having convinced D that she would rather live through the healing process than go through whatever the parasite was planning. She kept her eye on the man named Cameron.
