"I don't know Gren, she might magic D into falling in love with her," said Alex flatly.

"Yeah that's about as chaotically random as it gets," drawled the parasite.

D ignored the conversation.

"Sexiest damn beaver in all of existence," was Alex's flat response before glancing at Gren through blue eyes, "like I said, tall, dark, mysterious and emo are not my type. So, I'd be the table."

Angeles shook her head as the parasite burst into laughter and couldn't get a word past 'beaver.' D instead sat down in one of the easy chairs, feeling uncomfortable in it.

Azana yawned, stretching as she came downstairs, Sosol close behind. For the most part, they had been pretty relaxed; most of the Inn weren't as concerned about the prophecy anymore...the professor and his issues were in probably the best of hands, and she was feeling more confident than ever in the upcoming exams.

"Morning, Gren!" She said with a smile before heading back toward the kitchen for some cereal.

"Beat me to it," Sosol added with a chuckle, already pouring some orange juice before he even arrived at his usual post.

((I was just thinking...the day Charlotte and Max meet will be full of win.))

"Surprisingly, yes," Sosol answered with a grin, floating the glass of juice after its owner as she found a table. "Even with all the strange new developments, none of it seems to be in our jurisdiction. Good thing, too...I promised Az I'd help her practice for those exams."

"With you on my side, I can't fail," Azana said with a smile as she sat down and immediately took a spoon to her bowl. If she got too talkative, it would get soggy...

"If you want," Azana said with a chuckle. "I've been over most of the theory...the application exams are next on my list."

"Which ones do you think you'll get?" Sosol asked, glancing down as his stomach growled. It looked like he'd have to whip something up for himself...

"Well, there's obviously the Advanced Chalice and Wand tests, the FAST Field Operative test...I wouldn't put a Broom course past her, either," Azana said before speech was lost in the crunching of cereal.

"You said she was working on developing hybrid testing. Think you're a guinea pig?" Sosol called from the kitchen, emerging a moment later with a bowl of his own.

"I'd be more surprised if I wasn't."

((That's alright...when school starts up again, my Mondays and Fridays will be packed with a practicum where I'll actually have to work.))

"Thanks," Azana said, rolling her eyes slightly as he left. Yeah, she still took a little flak from her cousin, but the two of them had a considerably better relationship now. She was heartily thankful for that...

"The FAST?" Sosol asked, sitting nearby. "I never got to see that one..."

"You will when you take it next year," Azana answered, taking a sip of her juice. "It's a Field Operative course...a time trial. No Metaphysics allowed."

"Really..." He said, genuinely curious about this test, especially if he was going to take it. "What does it stand for?"

"Flexibility, Agility, Stealth, and Tactics," Azana answered in the same manner as when giving the Ethical Code of Magic. "They change it around all the time to ensure that operatives don't simply memorize the best path..."

"Hm...definitely sounds interesting. Think you can help me with it next year?"

"Hon, turnabout is simply fair play."

MacPere descended the stairs with a grunt, frown across his lips as he attempted to carry the stack of paperwork alongside a stuffed briefcase.

"M-Morning." He greeted in a concise manner, focus on balancing the papers.

Angeles tapped her pen on the table a few times before glancing at Alex who had fallen asleep in her chair. The woman wasn't going to leave the vampire alone until she had answered her question.

D, moved from his seat and walked over to Angeles, who looked at him sceptically but allowed him to loosen the scarf to look at the wound. After a moment he put it back and said, "try breathing."

Angeles cocked and eyebrow and then inhaled. It felt strange, and hurt to do so, but she felt her lungs inflate slowly. The windpipe had healed enough for that.
