Gren smiled, cheering up a good deal, before watching his husband's actions with interest. Perhaps he was warming up to Stacy? The glares between them weren't much fun.

"I could think of some great ways to celebrate," she replied suggestively, returning his kiss. At MacPere's question, she answered "Twenty thousand. It should cover the lease on the building and all the furniture and equipment I'll need for the office."

James glanced back to Albert, lifting his visor to look at him properly. "I guess, with a little gel, I could pull off the Einstein do, if it'll help...I've been working in the labs for a decade. Bit of a child prodigy. Doesn't hurt that the Chairwoman is my best friend's cousin..." He chuckled, rubbing at the back of his neck; he honestly had no idea how much of it was his smarts and experience and how much was simply his connections...
Guess it's a bit of both, or Hunter would have it, he thought.
"Double standard," Sosol muttered, pouring himself something. Unlike Eli, he had another way of eavesdropping, though he preferred not to use it...
Tyler blinked at the sudden interruption of MacPere, looking up at the checkbook with a bit of ire. Really...? Even Stacy? He thought, remembering that the two of them weren't on the best of terms...maybe he thought the PI firm would keep her away more often.

"I pissed him off," said Alex from her seat.
"I told him it was my fault," said D.
"But he didn't believe him," said the angel.
Angeles laughed quietly.
"So now I'm grounded from alcohol for a while," Alex sighed, debating drinking the military people's drinks despite how the smelled. She did, however, pull out her cigarettes and lighter and lit herself up a smoke. Emily wasn't around, so she didn't feel bad about it.

MacPere hummed in response, scribbling down a sum and signing, ripping out the page and placing it on the table. "One hundred thousand should cover insurance and supplies as well, then." He gave a simple nod before walking off, honestly not expecting a thank you, approaching the bar. "One gin before bed, please~"
"Hah, no need." Albert laughed, watching Celeste jump up to the stranger's hand.

Stacy simply stared at the check, eyes wide and mouth agape, completely speechless. She didn't know what to say to such generosity, especially considering that she and MacPere didn't always get along. Finally, she managed to squeak out "Thank you, Eliwood."

"MacPere smokes inside," retorted Alex, she hated playing teenager with this man, he wasn't her father. She smoked anyway, the black cigarette pinched between her lips.

Sosol smiled at what he was seeing, the bottle floating out to meet his hand as he poured it into a tumbler for Eli. Perhaps he was trying to bury the hatchet...seeing as she and Tyler seemed to be happy with one another, it was definitely a good move.
Tyler shrugged it off. As long as Stacy was happy and successful in her business, he supposed, though it always irked him somewhat...MacPere walks in, pen in hand, and changes everything with a single check. Sure, it was almost always for the best, and perhaps it was jealousy at work, but he found it annoying.
"Well, you'll have no loan trouble now, that's for sure..."
"Well, hello there!" James greeted with a smile, getting an estimate of her weight and logging it in the back of his mind. She was truly remarkable...and rather sociable, for something so secretive.

"No," said Alex calmly, "he smoked, in here, right in, that chair in fact," she said, pointing at a stool at the bar, "drinking the hardest liquor we had," she left it as that, as D was calmly watching the argument. Angeles had returned to thinking of what was best for Emily.

Gren threw up his hands, tired of pulling teeth for the day. "Fine. I've had enough of trying to deal with this today. Try to reach out, hit a brick wall. Try to settle things fairly, get yelled at. I'll be happy to talk with you as soon as it's worth the trouble." he said calmly, taking his drink of water and patting his husband's rear, heading upstairs.

Stacy was so touched at MacPere's generosity that it put her in a great mood. "That settles it," she told Tyler. "We are definitely celebrating tonight." She pulled him in for a passionate kiss.

Alex, as soon as Gren disappeared stood from her seat and to the bar and grabbed herself a bottle of gin. They were going to run out soon with how much Alex was drinking. She moved to her own seat and looked at D pointing at him, "I'd rather take your fall, than tell the truth of what you were trying to do," she said to him flatly and D hid his face with the brim of his hat.
Alex took a drink straight from the bottle, claiming it as hers.
