Chris sat at the table, deep in thought. Cameron was after Excalibur, no doubt about it, and now Sloane was here. These two presences added up to one incontrovertible fact: Fate was conspiring to tear Knightsoul into three separate pieces. Cameron wanted the sword, Sloane wanted the armor, leaving only the man in the middle. He needed a plan.

Showered and suitably dressed, MacPere descended the stairs. He gave a pleasant wave to Chris and gestured to the bar in offering. "Good day, Mr. Roberts, care for anything from the bar?"

"Something stiff that will either clear my head and give me the mother of all epiphanies or put me in an alcohol-induced coma so I don't have to deal with things. Got any of that or did we use it all up on the last prophecy that stressed us all three feet short of paranoid?" He sighed and shook his head. "I'm sorry, Eli. I'm in a mood today and i don't mean to take it out on you. How are you? How's Gren?"

"... Goodness me, Chris. Gin or Bourbon?" MacPere reached up to a shelf, taking down one bottleof each. Immediately, he frowned to the weight of the gin bottle, eying the minute drizzle in the bottom and recalling that it was the last bottle. "Never mind, bourbon it is."
Swallowing his annoyance,he strolled to Chris' table and took a seat, placing down both glasses. "I'm fine, Gren's still rather pissed off from last night... How are you and that fiancee or yours~? And, more importantly, what has you wanting to give in?"

Chris looked around the room to make sure they were really alone before continuing. "His full name is Cameron Trent, a legitimate businessman and CEO of Trent Technologies. That's just a cover for his real dealings, however. You see, the truth is that Cameron Trent just happens to be my nemesis, Omega Zero, and the man who helped me invent my armor in the first place."

Instantly, MacPere's face dropped, mouth half-open as his action of going for a sip paused. He slowly brought his eyes up to lock with Chris', lips forming a snarl. "What company did you say he works for?"

"Right now, I need a plan. Last night, Trent had a meeting with General Frederick Sloane. He oversees civilian contracts for the military and he was on the oversight committee when Cameron and I were developing the TEK project. He wants the suit and Cameron wants Excalibur. If they succeed, they will have effectively neutralized Knightsoul."
